Have just returned to a normal life after a most interesting time in Almaty. Whilst not on every must visit list, I would recommend should you have the chance.
The city itself is most interesting, very green with trees lining every road. Almaty is quite a confusing city and even after 6 days it was different to get ones bearings.
Spring had just arrived and the girls on the streets were just gorgeous and interesting. There is a complete mix of people and cultures there. Some girls are very Asian whilst others are so Russian. It was often interesting to see 2 friends walking together from each culture.
Stayed at the Hyatt. Hotel is ok but expensive for the quality. However, very girl friendly. No problems for the girls to come to the room during the day and at night security just ask them to leave their Passport.
I had made some research before my departure and had read the few postings on this forum. It is quite strange when you make an internet search as there are virtually no hits. Just www.almatycallgirls.com
I was with several colleagues and between us we used this service quite regularly. It appears that all the girls are independent and the pictures on the site are real. In most instances the girls were much more attractive in the flesh. Little English is spoken but with a mixture of languages we were successful although on one occasion 3 girls did turn up for one colleague.
The standard charge is US$.100.- This is for 1 hour and I enjoyed reasonable massages, good bj’s and good sex. The girls are very enthusiastic and all visits were definitely GFE’s. Talking to my colleagues we discovered that it appears that all girls in Almaty have a ‘ball cleaning fetish’. So much attention was spent on this part of the anatomy. Most of our success started at Petroleum Club. While the rest of Almaty is sleeping this place was busy every day that we visited with a very good number of extremely attractive wgs. There is a small cover charge and the club is large. My suggestion is to take a table close to the bar and watch the local scenery. A lot of the girls dance but my motto has always been that “dancing is a waste of good alcohol”
On each night we sat at a table and watched the lovely ladies. Whilst you may occasionally receive some eye contact none will approach the table. I guess that this is not allowed. Service is good and prices reasonable.
The minute that you approach the bar you are on their territory with a big choice of beautiful Asian or Russian looking girls. Prices seem to be fixed at $.300 but some negotiations can be made. My colleague took 2 for €.300
So yes a bit on the expensive side so what about the quality?
My first decision was Asian or white meat. Most Asians are quite petite so the 50:50 rule was looking more like 25:75 for me(75% older and 75% heavier).
On my first night I went for white meat. I believe that her name was Alina. Tall, blond and nice figure. Late in the evening and quite drunk I don’t negotiate so we were soon in the car on the way to the hotel.
I have had a number of experiences that have been very cold. I don’t mind paying but when you get a cold experience it leave you quite pissed off. However Alina was anything but. Snuggling up in the car she was all over me. I was pretty plastered but from what I remember if was a GFE. Naked she looked great, tall, good tits(some silicone) and clean shaven. Not exactly a destination to travel to, but if you are there on business you will definitely enjoy.

I am from Turkey and I am second time in Almaty. I want to talk about my first visit which was 2 weeks ago. One of my colleagues took me two different hotels which I do not remember the names, sorry.
The first one was pretty good with a bar full of working girls and lots of guys bargaining. The standard price was 5000 tenge one hour and 1000 tenge for room. Girls were young and there were stunners. I took a russian, sex was good, girl was very friendly. But the room was not so clean.

Maybe easy meat for a Manager to do his Secretary and, yes it happens here, same as all over the world. However, it just isnt worth it, I dont need Office Hassle from the guys or the girls in my Company, I have enough shit to deal with during the average working day without bringing more on myself.

Wrong - One of the first things in the ''Local Information'' literature of most major Foreign Contractors here is a warning which goes along the lines of:
"You may meet and be attracted to numerous local girls, who, in most cases are much younger than you. They are also attracted to you by the financial benefits your relatively high salary brings. You are advised to avoid becoming acquainted with these girls as it will cause difficulties and upset amongst local male population with often dangerous consequences"
It also means the girls in the office are definitely ''Off Limits"
However this is from one of the companies here which also instructs Ex-Pats to not use local Taxis to travel anywhere, and to avoid going out at night !!!

If you are staying in one of their room, unless you walk in with a really cheap looking broad, they let the girl reach your room or let you take her to your room and quietly add a few dollars, (around 15-20$), as guest charges. I am sure you won't mind that.
And if you take a walk outside Kazakhstan hotel any time after 9-10 PM, you will see lots of girls standing there. Many are quite good looking and you can easily pick one if one of them interests you. (Many wear blonde wigs. So if you are enchanted by blondes, make sure.)

‘Interaction’ between contractors/managers and female staff happens here as it does anywhere else and of course it causes the same issues of resentment, favouritism and jealousies as it does anywhere else. So 50’s cash n gash rule is a sensible option. There are plenty of girls in the bars so there really is no need to take this option.
As for Taxi’s – well 50 you are fully aware that the situation in Atyrau is totally different to the kingdom of Aktau. There have been repeated cases of ex-pats (worse for wear late at night) getting into local taxis alone and being taken out of the city to a place where other locals are waiting then having the shit beaten out of them. The locals are not content just to steal your money and watch, they want their pound of flesh as well.
The company referred to operates transport free of charge 24/7 so the advice is sensible, unlike the behaviour of one bling ex-pat who is currently going out at night with 62K US of diamond watch on his wrist – naïve and foolish- the consequence is pretty much inevitable.

Agreed, mate, things are dodgy up there in Atyrau.
I sense things are on the change here in the 'Kingdom of Aktau' too though.
Sat in a well known bar with my Kazette on Thurs evening, not at our usual table, but near to Pool Table observing several Ex-Pats playing Pool accompanied by a bevy of Russkis and the odd Kazakh girl or so. Reason was that my Kazette wanted to see how the game is played, but not necessarily participate.
We knew it was going to be one of those wild nights as the next day was a holiday so all the Kaz Guys were out to drink as much as possible etc etc.
Table next to us occupied by 6/7 Kaz guys around 25 -30 age group, also observing the Pool Table. However it was not the game that they were watching as my Kazette carefully listened to and translated their conversation for me.
Some of the things said were quite surprising as follows:
The guy with the Tattoos looks gay so we will kill him.
The small guy with the Kazakh sister (GF) deserves to die and she should be made to pay for it.
Let them all get drunk then we will call the guys and meet them outside.
Why is this sister with this old guy (me), she has no self respect.
And so on.
They then proceeded to manouvre their chairs around so as to attempt to seperate me and my Kazette, effectively cutting her off in the corner as if to make a territorial stake. When she asked them to move so she could go to the bathroom they made some nasty comments to her directly, including asking her why she had no self respect for being with me.
When she returned the nasty comments continued so we got our Bill and left.
It pisses me off to know that these things go on here and that the locals seem to think it is acceptable for them to carry on in this way. I can understand some resentment to the situation, but I cannot recall it happening anywhere else in the world on such a scale as it does here.
In the UK if a foreign guy walks into a bar with a beautiful english girl, we would all admire his catch, we wouldnt plot to kill him ????
What makes these guys think they can do such things, just because ??
And while I am at it I might as well throw the religion into the pot and say I had the wonderful opportunity to visit a nearby Kazakh Mecca last weekend, where although I was accepted and allowed in, I noticed a number of Aktau Kazakh Guys there who I recognised from various bars etc trying to hide their faces as if they were trying to hide their religion from me - a secret society or what? Are they the would be Killers, going to seek salvation for their sins in advance?
Meanwhile I am just going to find somewhere safe to hide my expensive watch before I walk to the pub. ;)

Yes we are still alive here in Kaz, but not so much action to report recently.

Refering to EE in general (even thought the Stans are a different ballgame and every region unique) it still is evident that nobody really likes foreigners fucking the locals "sisters". A few years ago when the local boys had no money and little perspective, it was perfectly understandable that the girls sought escape from their droll lives, even if just for a night. It didn't really please the locals, but with their broken spirit, they kept their traps shut. As things have changed in the last few years economically for the local men and more foreigners are showing up as well, tensions are sure to rise.
I have heard from several girls on several occasions, not to mention those conversations which I understood, that they were called sluts, *****s, bitches and trash for talking, flirting and kissing with me. You can guess what kind of words they had for me.
This is probably true anywhere where strangers attract the local females from the indigenous populace actually, however guys in EE are pretty quick to use violence to solve their problems. Just keep your eyes open out there.

Thanks GT, it would be difficult to top that anywhere else, but it isnt so easy to live with either.
This is a small city (Pop 150K) and everyone knows each other or somebody who does. My long term Kazette is back at my place most nights now and I think she is getting suspicious, mainly due to the frequency of SMS on my phone - One can only say ''It is from a mate'' so many times :)

Cheers Doc, the situation here is indeed similar to most places where ''Overpaid Ex-Pats'' mix and consort with the local girls. However as you say, here in the EE Countries the guys are quick to use violence, which does not actually solve the problem.
The reasons the girls go for Ex-Pats here are not only for the money and better lifestyle (pubs, clubs, etc) but for the fact that the locals are mostly assholes when it comes to treating the women well.
The younger guys seem to spend all day and night posing around in clapped out cars, wearing shiny shoes and pretending to look good on borrowed money. With an average salary of around $500 a month, they cannot afford the lifestyle that they try to portray, so frustration creeps in and often they turn to violence to ''impress'' the girls, but on the whole it doesnt work well. They also try to impress their mates by shagging as many girls as possible, treating them equally as badly, often fathering several children that they cannot support financially. This does not impress the girls at all.
The 25-40 age guys are usually married, often second time around, with kids, stuck in fairly dead-end jobs and resort to alcohol or playing around outside of the house as much as they can. They are often seen with younger girls, but the alcohol and lack of cash soon becomes a problem, so that doesnt work well for the girls either.
The older guys are generally so wasted on vodka etc that they dont count.
Along comes the Ex-Pat, with money (viagra if required) and a liking for the good things in life, which often includes the younger more attractive girls too. Most of the girls love to be seen with the Ex-pats and this just winds all the locals up even more - hence the violence seen to be the only option for the local guys here.
The violence that has been used by the Kazakhs is also of the more brutal kind, and due to the ''cover up'' nature of the authorities, it is seldom reported.
One Ex-Pat who had obviously upset a local bad guy got into a taxi late at night and disappeared for 3 days. He turned up, in his hotel room, very badly beaten and in need of serious medical attention. No Police report, No Hotel Security camera evidence, it never happened !!!
So having fun and being careful here does not only mean wearing condoms ;)

I am in Almaty at the moment and this city has really changed in last few years. Money is visibly floating everywhere. On the plus side, airport has become a pleasant experience and it took me no more then 12 minutes to come out with all my bags and zero hassle. Delhi airport could take a leaf out of this modern airport now, which was so corrupt just a few years back.
3 days and so far have shagged two babses one Russian and one Kazakh. No money involved. Got acquainted by the road side and had no trouble taking them to apartment. (Prefer apartment to hotels and its so easy to get them here). Just a few drinks and eats on the house and two great experiences!

Hi, there is not much of a P4P scene in Aktau, although it is developing slowly. There are a 2 groups each of around 4-6 WG's who get in Guns N Roses on a regular basis, they are all well known to the regular ex-pats there. I have noted that the ones sitting at the tables together are usually booked or busy and the groups of 2 at the bar are ''available'' to anyone who will buy them a drink. Be careful as some of the girls are married, either to locals or ex-pats, they will let you buy them drinks all night then ''hubby'' will arrive and off they go :(
Similarly the lounge/bar in Renaissance Hotel is ok for picking up the odd (high class) girl, but they usually hunt in pairs here so life can become interesting, but also expensive too.
It depends on your preferences, but the waitress scene is also a very good option here. They are available in all hotels, bars and clubs, most are very poorly paid and will jump at the chance to be ''taken out'' and enjoy life.
Fuento Nightclub is a sure bet, but you have to dance and enjoy yourself. Weekday nights it is often busy with girls who have no work the next day, they get in for free and buy one drink, hoping for a guy to entertain them. Once again beware of hubby/boyfriend blowing in around 2 am and scooping his girl up, while you just pay the bill.
New nightclub Mahito in behind Arabica Restaurant is nice and stylish, if a little expensive. It has taken a while to get busy, but now there is a fairly good scene there, but it is still best to take your own as there are the usual set-ups going on.
It has been an interesting month with the Euro 2008 matches being shown all over town. The local guys here seem to spend every penny they have (and more) on booze and bars. Consequently towards the end of the month the clubs are empty of locals and only the regular ex-pats can afford to go - so it is happy hunting time.
As a new face in town you will be quickly noticed, dont be like some guys I have observed and fall for the first (old) tramp that you meet (unless you are lucky like i was a year ago). There are literally hundreds of sexy 18-24 yr olds who have just this week graduated from college or Uni and they are all looking for a bit of ''support'' through the summer as they search for jobs. It depends on your choice, but it makes me laugh to see a new guy getting hooked up with some of the old slappers, when next to him there is pair of a sexy younger babes just crying for some attention.
It is hot here now, get out and about, walk the streets, enjoy the sights (mini skirts and heels of course) and meet plenty of girls, a local sim/number is essential for contacts.
As I have said before the locals here are dangerous. It is ok for a Kazakh guy to be seen with a Kaz or Russian girl, and ok for an ex-pat to be seen with a russian girl, however an ex-pat with a Kazakh girl is sure to draw plenty of ''stink-eye'' and hissing/spitting from the stoneheads. Believe me I have lived dangerously for over a year now, but apart from adverse comments, which I ignore, no real trouble has come my way - yet!! If like me you do prefer the skinny dark asian Kazakhs, just be careful, calm and cool about it all and you should survive.
This is probably my last report from Aktau and Kaz for the foreseeable future, time to move on. I leave here in a few days, but hope to return as soon as I can. If you need more info or advice on a particular bar or scene, just PM me and i will try to help.

Just a few tips, you do not say which part of Kaz you intend to visit, but the rules are similar:
Rule Number One - Do not act flash, wear a medallion, wear designer sunglasses on your head at night in a bar, talk loudly about work or money, wear Pink shirts and sweaters tied round your neck, ie Do Not Get Mistaken For An Italian !!
Get a local sim/number and carry a few 500 Kzt ($4) top-up cards. If you get a girls number and start texting her she will soon cry ''No Balance'' so sms her the code and she will very much appreciate it. (Most use ''Aktiv"')
Initially use known ex-pat bars, but if you work with or have any reasonable Kazakh guys as friends, go out with them - be seen to like the people here. I was soon offered russian lessons by one guy - he provided me with a ''long-haired dictionary'' and she was 20 and damn good too, but I didnt learn much russian.
Do not be afraid to walk the streets in daytime/evenings, the girls hunt in pairs so be prepared to take them both for a coffee or to a bar - you will soon find out which one (or both) is available.
Shop girls and waitresses are my favourites, and very approachable. They are poorly paid, usually have reasonable English skills and love to be ''taken out'' to places they simply cannot afford.
If you like skinny, attractive, long dark haired, asian 18-25 yr olds, the choice is almost unlimited. Beware of the ''Fashionistas'' who will let you take them out to bars/dinner and do everything but let you be alone with them, these are usually ''Good Muslim Girls'' saving their virginity for some drunken local who will then have to marry them because the first time got them pregnant.
There are hundreds of girls who married early (18) had the one child who were then deserted by the local guy because he cannot face responsibilities, so her mum is caring for the baby so she can work in a low paid job, due to lack of education -If this type is your ''cup of tea'' there is a flavour for every day of the week here.
Best of all, be careful, find out all you can about a girl before you take her anywhere alone - avoid set-ups. If you have a mate, then meet a girl and her friend with him, use the safety-in-numbers rule.

The problem is they're your only shot if you don't have Russian language skills, or if you don't know the location of a good strip club (see Marriott's reports for details). For those with a Russian friend or who have knowledge of Russian, pick up a copy of "Info-Tes" in Astana. It has a couple of pages of classifieds, both massage and call girls, and prices quoted start around $100 per hour. Bargaining was easy.

Made a flying visit recently. A couple of things to note: read the reports, I agree there are more likely, better value prospects to be worked from the civilian field. My trip was all over the shop, and I rarely had time to do a proper search. Had read the reports, however, and they are pretty accurate.
Aktau: Stayed at Renaissance, arrived late, spoke to door man who put me in touch with security manager. Had a russian delivered 1/2 hour later. Nothing special, ok performance, 5000/hour with a tip to doorman extra. Had confirmed at Check In that Ladies are no problem, so definitely GF.
Atyrau: Went to G&R, couple of nice Russian, got swept away. No more cards to play. Saw a few locals come through the place checking the situation out with kazak women/ expats present.
Almaty: Stayed at Kazakhstan Hotel, confirmed at Check In that Ladies are no problem. Tried Kate from site mentioned previously Almatycallgirls. Fair bit heavier than photos. Outrageous price, but as I was in a different town and arriving at midnight with only a few hours to spare I went for it. Decent service, I think no holds barred if you are the right person. A fair discount on advertised, @ 30%, but if I had more time there I would have rathered chase some of the stunning waitresses to be found (as already reported previously)
All in all, I don't think this country is a destination, but if you are coming to work, you will have a glorious time, some really spectacularly beautiful women, and in my experience, most of them were decent aswell.

Sorry cant help you on Astana, other than knowing it is a lot more expensive than Aktau for sure.
However, one thing is guaranteed, just like the rest of Kz, there will be plenty of skinny long dark haired babes all around the place. Chasing the waitresses, shop girls etc and Freebies is the way to go anywhere in Kz.

Quite simple - Try your luck with chatting up the Hotel staff first, if no good, then the Office Girls, you never know your luck.
Failing that then, Guns n Roses (Aktau Hotel) from 8 pm onwards followed by Fuento or Mahito Nightclub from 11 pm - all for Freelancers of course. just a snippet of info on the hotel at almaty airport. the building is to the left as you exit, only about 100m and walkable with luggage etc.
it is a shocking dump, even for me and i have seen a few dives in kz during my time here, however it could prove very useful if you find yourself stuck, or even better, happen to score an air astana girl on the flight in (fat chance) :d
rates are variable, seemingly charged for 6, 12, 18 and 24 hourly periods. minimum is 7,500 kzt ( $50) for 6 hours in a horrible room, with communal latrine down the hall. a large sparsely decorated double with a kind of bathroom is 10,000 kzt ($67) and onwards it goes. the prices for 24 hours are an incredible 36,000 ($240) for the basic room and i didnt even ask for the price with bathroom !!!
having stayed there i can now reveal why air astana staff are so glum, they all stopover too, however it would appear they have their own floor and seperate check-in process. things may not be so crap for them, but i wouldnt think they are much better catered for, hence the wonderful smiling faces.
actually the only reason i stayed there was due to the famous air astana flight cancellation without notice. sorry, not cancelled, simply removed from the timetable without ticket holders being notified - brilliant.
no idea what the food is like or if indeed there is any available. the total absence of floor staff, bellboys, and even carpeting was enough to convince me as to the quality of the establishment.
walking up the (non wheelchair friendly) front steps and through the door it is a puzzle to find the reception, hidden over on the left. a woman (qualified tractor driver type) peers uninterested through a hole cut in the dirty glass and if asked anything in english, merely points to a notice showing the rates (in russian). she takes the money and gives a receipt, telling you which floor to go to. the elevator was surprisingly new and it worked (probably an air astana addition to the old place) on the floor there is a similar woman (maybe her sister) who sits and doles out the room keys. if you ask, she might tell you which long corridor to take to find where the room is, but do not expect any help from anybody.
seriously, anyone arriving with a bit of spare (time, money and pussy) could actually find the dump useful. it is quite handy being so close to the airport, which also makes it damn noisy too so dont expect to sleep well there.

I am going to China next week, and thinking of traveling to Kazakhstan from China . I know a visa is probably required for American to enter the country. How do I get a visa to enter Kazakhstan? I am thinking of flying in from Urumqi, China.
It is difficult to get a visa to Kazakhstan on short notice. Usually you need a letter of invitation, passport picture and is easiest if you send it into a passport/visa office. This usually takes 7 days. You used to be able to get a visa at the airport but they never seem to be open. I knew someone who waited over 24 hours at the airport a year ago because the office was closed and then they did not let him in. Pretty risky I think. I would not attempt it myself. There may be an office in China that could do the visa but I am not aware of it

A journalist at an independent Kazakh newspaper says death threats have been rolling in since the publication of an article she wrote exposing a prostitution ring in western Kazakhstan, RFE/RL's Kazakh Service reports.
Zhanara Davletova, a reporter for the regional "Oral Weekly" based in the city of Oral, told RFE/RL that she has been getting several phone calls daily from unknown people who are threatening her life.
Her article includes a suggestion that a local hotel owner runs a brothel out of his hotel.
There is also a claim that local police are taking hush money to cover up the illegal activities.
Local human rights activists say "Oral Weekly" is one of the few media outlets in the region that operates independently.
A local police representative countered in an interview with RFE/RL that "Oral Weekly" frequently publishes unchecked facts and has been sued.
Davletova says local police have refused to investigate the prostitution allegations.

Your best bet (and just about only bet) for flights between Western Europe and Atyrau is Air Astana from Amsterdam. www.airastana.com . If I remember correctly, they have a few flights a week. IMHO Air Astana is excellent. They fly new Boeing 767's and have mostly American and British pilots. Service is as good (or better) than just about any other airline flying in and out of Amsterdam. Certainly better than KLM.
Otherwise you must fly through Baku or Istanbul which are also doable if you are going to and from Kiev but the airlines are decidedly more dodgey.

Please answer on here or PM meAs said before you only really have one option - Air Astana. Contrary to the other posters opinion I find it one of the worst airlines in terms of customer service. For your wife Transaero via Moscow will be your best option.
Air Astana fly every day to AMS except Monday. All flights full of contractors, Tuesday is the busiest day- avoid.
Routes via Istanbul are feasible and minimise time with Air Astana which is a major plus!
I don't suppose you tried asking the taxi driver?We asked taxi drivers both nights and they took us to a couple of places but no luck there either. First city I was at that the taxi drivers did not know a place either.

Having been here a few days I think it is best to post a little bit of information about my experience.
The hotel itself is ok ish, the rooms are a bit dated unless you like 70's commy chique and are in need of updating. For the price it is ok, but then again like most of you travelling I'm not paying.
As far as sightseeing goes, the hotel is not too far away from Panfilov park (20 minutes walk) if you like that kind of thing
The first evening I decided to work and then go out for a bit of playing. This was a bit of a mistake as I discovered that most bars (cosmopolitan, guinnes bar across the road) close at midnight. So of I went to Guns and roses which stays open till 2. First impressions: this bar is big, and I mean huge. The facade does not give you the impression that it is this big. A rock and roll band was playing some dodgy 80's covers for a virtually empty bar (15 people at the most). From my first quick look around I could see that the amount of working girls was pretty slim; 1 maybe 2 at the most. I'm not sure that it was because of the time I arrived or because of the low hotel ocupancy. I sat down with a beer (1, 000 tenge) to enjoy the show.
The problem with Guns and roses bar is that it is very bright and very open, so there is very little room for privacy; everybody and anybody can see what you are doing or what is going on. After about 10 minutes I was approached by one of the girls at the bar and for those who monger a lot in hotel bars I knew what was going to come next.
Not sure if this is the place for a filed report or not, so mods delete this part if not suited for this section.
The WG in question is a pretty 5 foot 5, slim local girl of turkish origin which goes by the name of Samira/Semira. Nice figure, shoulder length curly black hair, sultry look in her eyes. She was asking for 300 USD for "staying the night" which I declined as this was way more than I wanted to pay. Eventually settled for 150 USD for a couple of hours, probably still too high, but I couldn't be bothered to haggle any further. That was a bit of a mistake, to be honest.
Her performance was pretty shabby and not one of the best ones I have had for a long time. She started moaning before I was even in which was a laugh really. I mean maybe I'm good but I'm certainly not "that" good. She went through the motions, HJ, BJ, sex,. She clearly couldn't be bothered. After the job, she got dressed as quickly as she could and raided the minibar. Not sure if this is part of their deal with the hotel, but I wasn't impressed. After that it was the usual spiel of I have to get home, have you got money for a taxi, do you want to meet tomorrow, yadayadayada. So she left and I didn't feel any loss for it.
So Guys if you are and the GNR bar of the hotel and are approached by a girl called samira, don't bother unless you are desperate to get rid of your money.

Air Astana is postively the worst airline I have regularly flown on.
The Customer Service is NIL, try Business Class if you want to pay through the nose and get nothing, not even complimentary lounges !!!!

There is no choice of In-Flight entertainment whatsoever.
The food is shite - Omelette or Pasta on the AM flights and Chicken or Beef on the PM flights and it has been that way for years !!
On Board Service does not exist unless you accept a single drink being thrust upon you with a sneer as adequate.
They have no competition mainly because the Presidents wife has a 51% share, therefore the prices they charge are extortionate. Average $2000 US for travelling economy Amsterdam - Atyrau return and its a 5 hour flight !!!
As for DODGY, are you aware that all ten Kazakh Airlines are banned from flying in Europe due to unacceptable aircraft maintenance safety standards in Kazakhstan. The only exception is existing Air Astana flights however the planes have to be maintained in Amsterdam to allow them to fly in European airspace. Air Astana are also currently prohibited from expansion of their European routes because of this.
By the way, I am a Gold Member of Air Astana frequent flyer club Nomad, what do I get for it...?? Just about sweet FA, not even a cup of coffee in the so called Business Lounge at the main airport Almaty !!
Best Airline in/out of Amsterdam ???? MY ARSE.
I only fly them because they have the monopoly - there is no alternative, if there was, my colleagues and I would be first to use it.

Looks to me you had a pretty boring encounter. What day did you go to GNR? It is usually a happening bar during weekends (Fri and Sat). Did you try Cosmopolitan? The better looking girls usually hang out at this place.
As for hotels concern, there are not so many choices in Almaty. The most popular 5 star hotels are Intercon and Hyatt Regency, and both of this hotels are far from nightspots.
There is a new hotel in Almaty called Rixos, the surrounding area is reasonable with disco and clubs (the infamous PETROLEUM is a 5 minutes walk from Rixos). Maybe you can try Rixos during your next sexcapade!
Just to add some more, the range for ladies are between 50-150 USD for an all nighter...I have had a very drop dead gorgeous Tartar girl for USD150 for an all nighter and the most horrible shepherd girl for USD50...it all depends on your luck actually...

Actually its not such a crappy country, I have been there 3 years now and done very well out of it - thank you !! Met some very nice local people there too. (and a few I dont care to mention)
No improvement in Air Astana Services noted - Im flying with them again in a few hours - what joy !! Im looking forward to the Beef this time and I think I might get a beer, that is if the rest of the greedy bastards on the flight havent grabbed all six cans before me of course.
Regarding the language issue, most Kazakhs do not speak Kazakh either as it was banned by USSR for so many years, I find my basic Russian is adequate.

Have to add that they are all also very fucking expensive by any standard.
Last time I stayed at the Intercontinental the room was $470 a night with breakfast extra and it was rubbish too. Havent stayed in a good value for money Kz Hotel yet, cos they do not exist. Recommend the Dostik Hotel, reasonable at about $150 a night.
Even the Doghouse at the airport charges around $90 for a shitty room and nothing else.

Although the Dostyk is GF, they do levy an extra charge if you have booked a single room or are staying on a Company Rate as a single person.
Charge is 2000 Kzt extra, but for this you get upgraded to Business Deluxe Double Room and the girl gets breakfast, so it is reasonably good value for money.
Hotel is nice and new, facilities are very good by Kz standards, but as usual everything is extra.

Well, the best place to stay in Astana is in Radisson SAS. This is because the price is quite reasonable and they provide free internet usage. To top that, the hotel is near Club Chocalate, one of the best (and only one...i should stress this out..hehe) club in Astana. Astana has a long way to go to be a proper city for tourism.
Anybody been to Pavlodar ?
Closed to foreigners until 1992. Some 400 000 inhabitants. Around 75% of them (wikipedia figures) from russian or ukrainian ethnicity.
Seems intriguing, but zero report here.

Stayed at the Irtich(not sure of the spelling) best hotel in Pavladore. About $100 USD per night for standard room. If you ask the front desk girls they will tell you the best 2 discos. I don't remember the names of them but every one we asked named the 2 discos. We just went to one and it was packed with girls but we were the only 2 westerners and I think they were a little leery of us. There is a good restaurant name the Pizza Place but it has a full menu and there were several good looking girls in there. The first night in the Disco 2 young girls tried to pick us up about 11:30 when we got there but we wanted to see what action was really there. Stayed until 2:00AM and although the girls outnumbered the men 3 to 1 they were all regular girls and weren't working. The first 2 girls we met got drunk and left with 2 other guys. We felt pretty stupid at the end of the night when we went home empty handed.
The strip club was named Carabom had 3 dancers but they only danced on stage and they would give you a private 1 hr dance in a little cubicle for $100 USD but no sex. We tried everything to drag one out or get some action in the club but they would not budge.
There has to be some action there somewhere so we will keep looking.

In this case why don't go to Tashkent instead ? cost of life is much cheaper, there's no "oil & gas" sexpats spoiling the whole scene (in fact there's neither western sexpats nor tourists) and mongering options are plentiful. Furthermore, there's in Tashkent much more Russian-ethnic girls than in Almati. And it's much more exotic as a touristic destination. There is no question about it, Tashkent is a better option.

The best way to travel to Tashkent is by plane. The roads in Kazakhstan in general is horrible. If you are willing to endure rough traveling, by all means you can travel by road:)

the best way to travel to tashkent is by plane. the roads in kazakhstan in general is horrible. if you are willing to endure rough traveling, by all means you can travel by roadan interesting way to go from almaty to tashkent is through bishkek and osh in kyrgzstan, then through the fergana valley to tashkent. bishkek is about four hours by car from almaty. it's better to fly to osh from bishkek, then back to ground transportation for the rest of the trip. it's a long way, but lots to c. in fields along the highway on a weekend or holiday, you might see a game they play in that part of the world. twenty or thirty men on horseback in two teams toss or flip a beheaded sheep or goat from the neck of one horse to another in a gigantic game of keep-away. the animal is draped over the horse's neck, but when someone from the other team is about to take it away on one side, the one with the animal flips it to another rider from his team alongside on the other side. i can't remember the name of the game, but it is very rough and lasts for hours.
don't take any photos near border crossing stations (e. g., posing under a sign that says welcome to uzbekistan). it is a very serious offense.

I must say that Almaty is like heaven when we compare the scene with India. I was there some time back and some of my brothers helped me know the local scene and I thank them from the core of my heart. I was there for 4 days during which I had action on 3 days. My experience is as under:
Day 1
Reached Almaty early in the morning hence crashed out after checking into the hotel. I stayed into a 4 star hotel but was warned by one of the Bros that it is not GF but I was stuck anyway, since my company had booked me there. In Almaty a month or so back and decided to check out the local ads in the paper - CARAVAN (or KARAVAN).
The section for personnels is the last couple of pages of the classifieds. Speaking no russian just tried a few numbers asked if they spoke english and eventually negotiated an outcall to my hotel.

USD300 is totally a rip off! You can negotiate with them. If you are lucky, you can get USD50 overnight. Most of the WGs in Esperanza & Petroleum are poor girls from outside of Almaty or living in Almaty with families or friends. Not only Kazakh guys are tough on their own ladies, but in general, Kazakhstani are very rough people. Maybe because of their history under the USSR or something. But they can be sexually adventurous if you know how to handle them.

If you guys are ever in Astana, please drop to a club called Chocolate. It is situated at the basement of Hotel Radisson SAS (also a superb hotel to stay in Astana, but a bit on the high side). almaty is in a very beautiful location. ultra-green in summer, backed by big, dramatic sno-covered peaks. but it has (major) problems with traffic jams. this is a problem for the ambitious, time-constrained mongerer like me. basically i want to do 2-3 girls per day, and also have a lot of other things to do. if you have more time the place may be even better. there is no doubt that there are very, very many beautiful women in almaty. in summer they all dress to kill. fyi i speak russian, and that makes it much, much easier to operate.

I just returned from a few days in Almaty.

I have been in Almaty for a about a week now. Mostly dealing with a freebie but went to Soho last Saturday and talent was small but actually quality was there and ended picking up a 20 year old Uzbek girl that was young and sweet. Took her short term for 2 hours for 15, 000 tenge which was fair to both of us. Really had a great time. Real GF experience. Was really concerned about going into a hotel so I am assuming that she was very new to the game. Very worried about having to show a passport. One night took takeout from Almaty Callgirls site just to try and took a 19 year for 1 hour for 12, 000 tenge. She was very good and tipped her 3000. With the winter storm last week regular bars and coffee shops were not busy so freebie hunting was scarce. Overall a great week

Thanks in advance for the help.No, there is no hotel near the airport, but take a taxi to Karavansarai Hotel near "Pervi vokzal" (first railway station). It is a bit seedy, but there might be girls around or they can help you find some. Otherwise try hotel Lyudmila, a bit to the right from Karavansarai- they have a sauna and it is cheap (not more than USD 20 per hour. That's about the best you can get. There is a market nearby where you can have barbecue, buy fruit, just walk around. It is at the moment. 20 during the day so bring your long Johns!

My piece of advice: go to Bishkek Kyrgyzstan, get into a sauna and let them bring the girls on. They come by SUV load full and you can chose who, how many and how long you want them. Check the list, but if you are Greek you don't need a visa to go into Kyrgyzstan. Kamair used to fly to Almaty once a week (nightmare: they would suddenly change the day without notification- I always wondered why they flew that empty boeing 737 up and down, I am sure with the latest news stories on that air liner you know what it was all about I suppose, but they stopped. From Sayran bus station in Almaty you take a collect taxi for less than 20USD to the border and another one on the other side into town (USD 10 max). You could fly through Dushanbe, but then you need a transit visa and that embassy in Kabul is awfully slow.
