There is no clear winner IMHO. It depends on your tastes and preferences. HKG wins big when it comes to things to do apart from womanizing unless you like to gamble. Hong Kong is a major world city. If you have never been there you should go.

I have been to HKG 4 times and Macau once. Last year was my first visit to Macau and I loved it. I can’t wait to get back. I was close to booking my flight to Bangkok when I stumbled upon some undercover video on youtube of a place called Macock. I later learned that it was Macau. Quite honestly, I had never even heard of the place and I thought was somewhat informed. After some digging and collecting some information, my curiousity is peaked and I am now torn between Bangkok and Macau.

If there are any of you that have been to both recently, I'd sure like some feedback on where to go or should I try to squeeze in both? I have about 8-10 days. I am going to Asia because I absolutely love asian women and not because it's less expensive than other countries.

If I go to Bangkok, I was planning to go to Poseidon, Pegasus Club, La Belle and some other places that are know for having top shelf talent (regardless of price). If I go to Macau, I was interested in 18 and East Spa. Again, I'm not worried about price, I am just looking for the best looking asian women in an upscale atmosphere.

Bangkok and Macau are both exceptional places, though rather different experiences. A trip to Macau will let you enjoy more pretty Chinese girls, since many come there for work from the mainland. Most will not speak English, even though some staff at the clubs will. Many of the guests are Chinese from Hong Kong or the mainland. You may feel a bit lost at first. But if you enjoy casinos and gambling as well as mongering, consider Macau this time instead of Bangkok. Macau also has excellent cuisine and quite a few interesting tourist sights to see.

Do Macau in one trip and Bangkok in another. Not sure shuttling between makes sense. Both places are rich and succulent.

Since you say you are interested in top shelf talent and are not worried about price, I suggest you try to fit both Macau and BKK into your schedule. I would recommend 3 or 4 days in Macau and 7 or 6 days in Bangkok. Air Asia has direct flights linking both cities. There is so much information here on the forum; I don't have enough space or time to go into it in detail here. I suggest you scroll back through the Macau and BKK forums. There is a treasure trove of info. The Chinese sauna girls at Rio and East Spa are amazing. The Thai girls at La Belle, Long Beach, Copa Cabana are equally entertaining. And that is just the tip of the iceberg in both cities.

My opinion for what it is worth is this: Three to five days in Macau would be fantastic, but I would not want to stay for a longer stretch without a break because all there is in Macau is hot women, great food, and gambling. Since gambling does not interest me, I prefer to spend only 4 or 5 days there at a time. Bangkok has great women, great food, and a lot more things of interest besides. I could spend a couple months in BKK and not get bored. So try to fit both cities into your itinerary. You will have a great time. But if you can only go to one city, then go to BKK.

I was wondering if I will have any avenues for mongering Christmas eve and day? Europe and the US are dead on those days, but I wasn't sure if Macau would be different since it isn't a Christian country.

Any info would be helpful.

I had always wondered why The Venetian. A LV Sands property where one of the local Rotary clubs meets, fer cryin' out loud!. Tolerated the working girls. That is, until I discovered that the rings are renting rooms there for quick turn-arounds, a la the old Lisboa, making for a nice little earner. That, and I'll bet the restaurant revenue (many of the girls eat there on their shifts, and I always dine there to scope out the offerings) is off the charts. Let's hope the gaming floor returns to normal before I return. There was nothing more fun than being propositioned by the little' sweeties, just absolute little hotties, though service, like that of the Lisboa racetrack girls, is typically rushed.

.Unless you like gambling, or are physically nearer Macau (if cost of the plane ticket is a factor) , BKK has many advantages beyond price (easily half that of Macau's) : gogos where you'll see exactly what you'll be getting should you, ahem, decide to purchase. And if you're considering BKK, you might as well check out Pattaya, a 75-minute cab ride from the Bangkok airport, a city which is nothing BUT sex, thousands upon thousands of sex workers begging for you. That said, if you like the "soapy" massage experience, I much preferred my experiences at Darling and 18 in Macau to my visit to Sabadee, a top soapy in Pattaya. I didn't get a chance to check oiut Poseidon in BKK, as Soi Cowboy's gogos always did the trick for me. Bottom line: if you like talking to the girl before the act (Filipina freelancers in Macau notwithstanding; haven't tried) , Thailand is the place. If you like nice, natural scenery, Phuket is more than adequate for sex activity, too, and a truly beautiful place, if overly touristed.

finding myself with ample time in hong kong recently, and upon the advise of many here on this forum, i had to add a field trip or two to macau and report back on my experiences. i hope this information can prove perhaps a bit of value to a first timer like myself in the future, or bring a smile or two of remembrance to a more experienced macau veteran. having more time in hong kong, i've provided much more detail of my punting in that fair city over on the appropriate forum, but i wound up enjoying macau so much i made a total of four rides over on the one hour turbo ferry! it truly is a totally different experience from hong kong, and one not to be missed if given the chance.

first i should state i had the incredible good fortune to run into a fellow punter who also happened to be a first rate english speaking native tour guide as well. he hangs out in the macau ferry terminal, as so many free lance guides do, looking to pick up day trippers for a quick tour of the city. as often mentioned, you could probably walk from one end of the city to the other in under an hour, but paul's help and insights were invaluable in helping me see all the 'hot spots' along with a lot of witty macanese observations along the way.

the rio. not high on paul's list, i just had to experience this place anyway, having read so much about it on the forum. i opted for one of the 'all inclusive' packages, purchased at the ferry terminal in hk, but probably only saved myself about $20 hkd on the deal. no matter, i quickly made friends with fuji, one of the mid-level managers who spoke a bit of english. after arrival and the obligatory locking up of your personal items and a thorough shower (no shower 'girls' present at that time!) i found myself lounging in robed comfort, eating complimentary sandwiches and noodles and being amusingly 'harassed' by any number of little vietnamese cuties wanting to do 'add-on' massages. one little spinner by the name of angel flat out told me she wanted to 'f. k me' and promptly gave me her home phone number for an extracurricular excursion. sadly, i never acted on that offer. these little gals were full of fun and laughter as they playfully grabbed at my package under my robe, and it was a pleasant way to spend some time, waiting for the big show which happened at about every half hour. right on cue, out strutted a half dozen beauties in harem clothes, carrying a big banner, announcing all interested parties should come to the viewing room. holy cow. 40 or more of some of the most beautiful ladies i've ever seen, and everything from some stunning russians (i take back every disparaging remark i ever uttered about eastern block women) , vietnamese, and some tall, blow-you-mind prc china dolls. it pissed me off, though, like the airlines, they were slapping a $500 hkd up-charge on these chinese supermodels! nationalities were color coded on their name tags, but i told my boy i was hoping for a legendary mongolian. there was only one available, and he dutifully pointed her out; i picked her before the dozen or so fellow mongers could scoop her. i should add right here, that in virtually every joint i found myself in macau, i was the only non-asian, and this among what must have easily totaled 75 fellow punters i observed in three separate establishments. that's just fine, but i found it a bit puzzling.

my mongolian was a true stunner, if not necessarily the most beautiful girl on display. but once we were ushered to our own private room i quickly found i'the made a fortuitous choice. tall, at more than 180 cm, she was one of four mongolians i met while in hk / macau, and 3 of those were all exceedingly tall with big, doe-like eyes. a very attractive people in my admittedly very limited experience.

my partner spoke fairly decent english, seemed well educated, stated she was 21, and gave a very good gfe performance, unfailing polite and constantly smiling and laughing at my pidgin putonghua and antics. i received the obligatory shower on the 'shower bed', a very good bbbj, and several positions, finishing hunched over that impossibly firm pooter in true doggy fashion. without any prompting, she offered me her number, asked that i call her for lunch or drinks sometime, and intimated 'outside' services could be had for considerably less. total bill was about $1, 800 for all the fun i received at the rio which included a pretty sorry head massage in the package, performed by a little slip of a vietnamese girl who called herself 'lady gaga', which came out 'lady ca-ca'. hilarious.

this place, will truly spoil you, and it definitely earns the title of 'man's paradise'.

darling 2. the only true 'fish bowl' experience i know of in macau, i had to give this place a try, having experienced similar operations in manila where they are quite popular. my guide to the seamy side of macau, paul, thought it was better and less expensive than darling 1, which he disdainfully said was for 'tourists', whatever that meant. the price was $1, 088 hkd, and the thought of selecting your own beauty from behind a one way glass wall as they primped and smiled for you, trying to obtain your unseen, anonymous attention is actually quite a turn on for me. my choice was a little vietnamese spinner. most of the possibilities were thai or viet, with a couple of prc lassies thrown in. our time in the room was spent on the usual soapy tub action as she rubbed her firm little body all over mine, gave a reasonably good bbbj, and worked hard at every position i requested. my request for greek action was politely declined. she was a tiny little slip of a girl, and couldn't have weighed 90 lbs. with impossibly big brown eyes, it was amusing how much bigger they got for a moment when i requested she wear her clear plastic 5' cmf pumps as we finished off in the mish with her legs high up in the air! i'm sure she was thinking, 'what more is this crazy gweilo going to ask for? lisboa race track. i just had to see this place, and was not disappointed! sitting in the little cafe, eating a bite of lunch and watching the fast paced prc stunners strutting by was almost like being in another fish-bowl. i was not the only punter watching, and it was blatantly obvious as several old men stood around, appraising the 'selection' like some farmers at a livestock auction. true to form, most of these mainland gals totally ignored me, but constantly, almost aggressively chatted up their chinese admirers. one particularly busty sweetheart returned eye-contact and smiles, and would have been my choice, but i didn't partake of the buffet as offered. any monger worthy of the title should see this bizarre ritual, if ever in macau. 40 or more long legged beauties constantly strutting by at a fast pace, and an ever changing show as some leave with customers and others arrive.

these two small hotels have anywhere from 4 or 5 to a dozen little cuties in impossibly short mini-skirts sitting in the lobby, just waiting for you. as you walk in, they jump up, flashing big 'come-on' smiles. you make your selection, then head upstairs to their shared room for some quick, hot action. my punter guide said they ran $200 hkd but i'the probably have to settle for the 'gweilo tax' and pay about $250. clearly he'the not been here in a while, or my negotiating skills were sadly deficient. apparently all consisting of stunning little prc girls, down to the big city to make some quick cash, they were all smiles and giggles until i offered $200 hkd for a pop. it was shocking to see how fast they went straight to snorts of derision at my offer! most were $500, a couple were $600, and the best i could get my busty little spinner down to was $500. the little brain kicked in and i agreed. there was obviously some peer pressure between these gals to not come off their prices too much as i was forced to negotiate right in front of all of them. the action was adequate but pretty standard. still it's worth it, and you will not be disappointed in the eye-candy, i believe, as you step into the lobby. quality and numbers of ladies were similar at both places, and as they are only about a 1 minute walk apart, you can shuttle back and forth to make your selection.

It is near the Holiday Inn and every cabbie should know it. Nice, classy hotel lobby, but a discrete floor sign directs you to the 5th floor, as I recall, for the Sauna. Great report. I was in Cebu for one year. You pretty much described the girl I had, infact most of the girls in Cebu are very outgoing and fun to be around and I have never had any girl heckle me for money. Whatever, I gave they accepted it. No problem not picking a girl, you will only have to pay the minimum charge then, I would say 200. 500 depending on the sauna, sure the captain will come and ask if you would like a girl but just tell you are there just to relax today, and actually you can do that very well, I have seen a lot of asian bussiness men just using the pool, sauna maybe a foot massage etc, use some of the computers for a while and leave without chossing a girl.

I've been to Macau a half dozen times or so. What you want to do is go to the Ferry Terminal (Shen Tuk?) in Central HK. Go up the escalators to Travel Agencies. You will see all the naked girl posters in the window. Tell the guy you want Ferry Package with Sauna 18. They take Credit Card with discrete billing. China Travel Service. Round Trip Ferry and Sauna FS included is something like 1, 600 HK. Great Deal. You wind up getting Ferry for free. Once you get to Macau you will be there early. I would go to Wynn or Venetian Casino for lunch and to play a few hours. Spa doesn't get going with good selection until about 4pm. Once you are ready to go to spa. As already said by Bionicman:
Forget the hotel in HK or Macau. I assume you arrive in HKIA. So you have two options: Go directly from HKIA to Macau by ferry. Or to make the immigration to HK, go by airpert express to HK and then to the ferry terminal. In this case you can buy a package (sauna + ferry). If there aren't any other reasons to go to HK, I would choose the first option.

You can find here a lot of information about the saunas. You can stay in most saunas overnight, as described in many posts.

I did for myself stay in Boss and 18 overnight. In both cases it was totally ok. Even in Boss I could use a room for 5 hrs until the morning.

So, don't care about a hotel. Take care about your fun, because 24h is a short time.

i believe you can stay in 18 for a maximum of 12 hours then you get charged another days time. you can check other websites like ctrip elong (now apart of expedia) or download the kayak app for hotel rates.

boss: i arrived late afternoon, had a full package incl. a long so-called shanghai massage. was finished around 01am. they allowed me to stay in the room i had been with the girl for until morning. had to leave around 08am.

they took care about luggage at the reception. was totally fine.

18: luggage stored at the reception. slept after a double session in a chair for 5 hrs. got a separate blanket.

they charged me the standard sauna few twice. don't remember amount, but it wasn't a bad deal.

I read that 2 hours is safe bet.

If not, then I guess I will just have to go to Shun Tak Centre and catch the ferry from there. Then at least we can take our time and even look at the sauna packages over there. How much longer would it take to go through immigration, bag collection, customs, bus / taxi, and then to the ferry terminal?

Thanks in advance! You probably not going to make it direct if you have checked in luggage, but give it a try. Just go to the counter and hand them over your luggage tag and see if the are willing to sell you a ticket (they will pick up your bag). If you only have carry-on, then it should not be a problem getting on that boat.

If you have to do it via Shaun Tak, you might find the package vendors closed. Not sure how long the thy stay open at night, but I remember some time ago a buddy of mine was there around midnight and all was closed.

Going through customs, baggage, taxi to ferry terminal will take at least an hour. So figure by the time you get to Macau and check into your hotel, it will be after midnight and you will be tired out. Remember, 7:30pm to 11pm is prime time at the Saunas. The best selection of girls are available and they are fresh.

May I make an alternative suggestion? Relax, unwind and spend the night in Wanchai. After checking into your HKG hotel, you will find yourself walking into Neptune 2 or some other bar a little after 10pm which is prime time in Wanchai to pick up a girl and have a great night. Next day or the day after, at your leisure take the ferry to Macau and you will enjoy a full night in the Saunas. This way you won't miss a thing. After a long international flight, I always spend a couple days in HKG to unwind before moving on to Macau, Thailand and the Philippine Islands. What's the rush? Wanchai is a lot of fun. Check it out.

Thanks. Can't help with the hotel advise you are seeking in your first question as my experience has always been day trips over from HK.

But as for your second question about exchanging money, I can suggest that if you are coming over on the ferry from HK, and you are spending any time in HK before and afterward, don't bother to exchange for patacas. HK dollars are accepted everywhere in Macau, though you may get patacas back in change. (exchange rate for HK dollars to patacas is roughly 1=1)

Just find a way to spend those spare patacas you receive in Macau before you head back as they are NOT accepted in Hong Kong.

I am planning on doing carry-on only, but I'm still having some trouble convincing my friend to not bring the big suitcase. I know things will go by much faster without checking bags in. I guess if it's going to be that late and the ferry pacakages offices will be closed as well, then looking into staying in HK sounds like a good idea. I will definately have to read up some more in there. We were planning to go into HK sometime during the trip so maybe we can just move it before Macau instead of in the middle.

Com has consistently the best or equal to best hotel rates for both Macau and HK. When looking at what the agents at Shaun Tak offer, it is often about the same as I have paid through Asiatravel, but sometimes they are higher. Not sure about prices once you hit Macau Ferry terminal, but I have seen offers of local travel agents within Macau when they display the prices in the window of their agency and it is usually pretty comparable to the lowest internet rates. I would forget about booking at a travel agency in your country of origin since I have no belief they are competititve, but then again, I have not even checked that option in the past.

As for changing USD to MOP, most places have very similar rates. Usually the best rate is inside old Lisboa hotel, but it is so marginal it really does not matter. Be aware that if you are going for the casinos, you have to use HKD there, they do not accept MOP.

I am coming from Asia and bringing US Dollars. I plan to only go to Macau on July and spend 5 days. So I will be arriving by plane. Aside from mongering, I plan to play in the casinos. From the airport, I plan to go to the Ferry Terminal to book my hotel and maybe get a free shuttle ride to the hotel or maybe book a hotel at a local travel agency in Macau.

Questions:

1. Are the Shaun Tak agents (hotel booking) located in the Ferry Terminal? Is it pretty easy and convenient just to book with them?

2. Can you directly exchange US dollars in the casino, into casino playing chips or you should exchange US$ first to HKD, then to casino chips?

3. At places such as 18 Sauna, Darling 1, MP3 bar, Lisboa racetrack, is it wiser to pay in MOP or HKD? How about in the hotels and restaurant, is it better to pay MOP or HKD?

4. If you happen to win in the casino and have excess HKD or MOP, where is the best place to exchange it back to US dollars, before you leave Macau?

5. Approximately, how much is the taxi fare from Lisboa to Venetian?

This report is about my days in Macao following my 4 days in HK (read in the general section there) :

Macau trip.

I started my macau trip a day earlier then planned so I had booked one day at the sofitel ponte 16 before I changed to the golden dragon hotel. Really nice hotel for 1200 HK with a great view about 10 – 15 minutes by foot from the lisboa at the inner harbor side.

Well, I could not wait to taste the Macao delicacies and went straight to Darling 2 and had 90 minutes with a stunning sweet half viet half Chinese girl. She gave one of the best BBBJ ever in my life. Seems like the viets in macao are the best in that category.

In the night I went to DD drank a little bit but not to many girls there so I called it a day at around 3 am.

Next day I transferred to the golden dragon at around 1 pm. I checked in but the room hasn't ready. So I didn't waste any time and went over to darling 1 to take advantage of the happy hour. There are many small money exchange shops in the neighborhood between the Lisboa and the Holiday Inn and a few blocks east of H. I. I spend 15 minutes walking around comparing the rates while I am shopping for Listerine and other essentials. Was supposed to be going to a guy friend to Macau in mid-September for a "boy's night out" weekend (we live in Shanghai). Well, he has now decided to bring along his mistress and I'm suddenly a 3rd wheel. So I need to pick up someone for the day (maybe 5PM to anywhere from 10PM to O / N) , bonus if she is hot enough to make my friend jealous.

So in the mid-afternoon where is my best bet to try and find someone with the willingness to spend a day / night? Before immigration you find the ferry checkbin counters. Present your pre booking, passport and air tags of your luggage. End of the story. You will see your bags in Macau. On the way back check in the bags for the ferry, retrieve them at arrival, cross the hall and head to the airline counters (all airlines are represented) , hand over the bags and get your boarding card. Go through security and board the shuttle train to the air terminal.

Went to Macau eariler this week on the jet boat. Got out and took the hotel bus to the casino. Went in to the closest entrance from were the bus drops ypu off. Walked to were they sold food. 1) of course it is, and it is nearly 24hrs a day.

2) depends on your actions: can be from 700 to 2200 MOP a day or so.

3) I would say. Totally different from what I read on the DR forum. Macau is mainly saunas (and they are quite unique) plus some FL pick ups in a few bars / disco.

5) Macau is quite close to LV, apart more obvious sex on offer, and cheaper.

Thailand is an heaven for sex. As a virgin for Asia, go to Macau and you see how the sauna works and get to learn some Chinese girls.

Having said that, thai girls are different from Chinese and so are the philipinos. Keep it in mind. The scenes are also a bit different.

6) can be a problem with taxi drivers as often they do not even understand an hotel name as an address (an easy one as "Emperor", go imagine). I am addicted to Macau, but I prefer to spend 3 or 4 days at a time in there. That way I never get bored. Go on weekdays!

You write you have never been to Thailand. OOOOOH WEEEEE! I recommend combining a Macau trip with a Pattaya excursion for one hell of a good time. Air Asia flies the route cheaply. If you follow my advice you will be hooked on Asian women for the rest of your life. I have never been to DR, but I am well travelled in Costa Rica. I love CR, but as far as girls are concerned there is no contest. Thailand and Macau win hands down.

So I recommend 3 days in Macau. 4 or 5 days in Pattaya, and 1 or 2 more days in Macau on the back end. And if you can stretch out your trip a little longer then take in Bangkok too. Warning: The girls of Macau are not cheap. The Saunas are the main attraction and totally worth it IMO, but it is expensive by Asian standards. Pattaya is much easier on the wallet. Reasonably priced accommodations can be found in both towns. The food is great. English is sufficient.

8 days in a row is too much for Macau, unless you gamble or do 2 saunas a day. It is a small country and you could see all of the non-mongering tourist attraction in 2-3 days.

1500 sauna. 100 per meal, + taxi. 2000 per day. Can easily be done half that if you're trying to budget.

Not too many western expats and very few western club / bars.

Since you're flying all the way to Asia, I would try to work another country in to your trip. Thailand for mongering or even Hong Kong for a few days. It is a 1 hour ferry ride from Macau.

English only is fine except for taxis.

They do have shuttle service to the ferry every half hour but it will be hard to find. However coming back you can use it. Taxi is cheap as well. I found this hotel ic nice and clean although the beds are small. Usually they have two twin beds in the room or one full bed. Facilities are pretty good. Very good rate in Asiatravel. Com. Walking distance to casinoes.

Breakfast is all Chinese food items and not included in the room price.
