Taxi driver mumbled something about after midnight surcharge of RM10 and refused to use meter. G Hotel to Gurney Drive according to him was RM30. I paid him RM 15 and told him where to go. Return journey even worse. Some loud arrogant guy. Told him when I got back to hotel Id just paid RM15 so I wasnt paying his ridiculou rate of RM30. Doorman hd to stop him from entering hotel as he was using foul language and being very threatening to me.
Penang. Nice city. Probably the worst taxi drivers in world. And I've travelled all over this world many times.Considering that on occasion I have walked the entire length of Gurney Drive, Rm 30 is definitely on the high side.
We also actually have a reputation as the some of the worst drivers around, I'm one of them :D
GP spa is over mainland & I'd presumed it may be kind of difficult for you to reach there unless:
1. you got your own transport

Well, its a 2 star hotel to begin with. I haven't stayed there before so I can't tell you whether the condition is good or not. For the price you are paying I guess its reasonable. There is free Wifi which is a good thing. Anyway if you don't like the place there are plenty of reasonable budget hotels at Upper Penang Road.
FYI there is a FS in the hotel but the qualilty cannot compare to Pattaya. Price ST range from RM150 to RM200. They may charge you on the upper end since you are farang.
The place is off Penang Rd. where the action is but its about 5-10mins walk only. Sapphire is around the corner and you may get some willing to stay the night.
For FL its a subjective mattter and you can't compare to the ones in Thailand as they are definately cheaper and there.
The ones that roam the bars like SOHO are mostly Thais or East Malaysians. The going rate ST and RM 300-500 LT. Service varies- we have good and bad reports. Phone in ones rarely want to go to hotel and operate from their premises mostly.
There has been some good previous reports on the matter, do a search for what you are looking for.

The place is off Penang Rd. where the action is but its about 5-10mins walk only. Sapphire is around the corner and you may get some willing to stay the night.
For FL its a subjective mattter and you can't compare to the ones in Thailand as they are definately cheaper and there.
The ones that roam the bars like SOHO are mostly Thais or East Malaysians. The going rate ST and RM 300-500 LT. Service varies- we have good and bad reports. Phone in ones rarely want to go to hotel and operate from their premises mostly.
There has been some good previous reports on the matter, do a search for what you are looking for.

Today I chatted with one of my friend who is a regular for L*cky On*, he mentioned that all WL only provide HJ. BJ is not normal there.
Especially the SYT are quite lang si.
Not sure how true is this, can you confirm on this?
