Let's start with an answer to the perennial question.
Basically all hotels in SIN are GF as long as you or the gal does not behave in a way that disturbs other guests. Simply walk to the elevator and nod to the staff if they are looking at you. If the gal has a lot of skin exposed it might be better to have her cover up a little most of them have something for this purpose.
If you are staying in a hotel with colleagues you may want to consider hotels with discreet alternative entrances. I am aware of these at Shangri-La, Traders, Orchard Parade and Paramount. Others like Orchard, Hilton and Roxy you have to traverse the lobby to get to the elevators.
The other hot topic about hotels is the way the rates have gone through the roof recently with not many decent places under S$200 and lots of them heading towards S$400.
At a site like wotif.com you can track the prices and they are cheaper on weekends. And I have found that wotif and agoda are having much the same prices as I can get from a travel agent that specialises in in-bound tours.
For now I have settled on Paramount and got to know the staff so at least I can get a room most of the time. The hotel is just OK and the food poor but there are compensations downstairs and nearby.
Would like to hear suggestions for good value for money places - for me preferably in Chinatown/Riverside area or East Coast.
Dear mongers,
Next time you stay at Orchard hotel,Orchard road. They have rooms which have bathrooms with glass partition instead of brick wall. It is great fun when you bring girls to the room. These girls enjoy showing us off in different poses , stick their ass ,pussies and boobs to the glass etc.oh it is great fun. Try yourself. Last time I brought two girls together and it was a great strip show for 30 minutes., under the shower.
We have to stripe our room card in the lift to go up. So you have to go down and collect the girl.

Must admit that I never experienced the glass bath partition. But my take on Orchard Hotel is:
1. Rooms are small
2. Rates have skyrocketed - $250 on weekend and $350 during week.
3. It is too close to OT and gals are too inclined to split and go back for a second helping.
I used to stay in Orchard and Orchard Parade quite a bit until these things started to happen.

Just moved back to Sing. Rents and hotels have gone thru the roof. If you are planning a leisure trip here try to check out any likely clashes with conferences or F1 race dates (scary). The rates at these times are obscene. Mid June rates are more like $500 a night because of some Comm convention. Other times you may want to check Furama Riverside (a misnomer that one), Grand Copthorne Waterfront. These are Havelock Road area. Not that far away from the stuff by taxi. Duxton Hill, OT, Brix (bus if you are desperate). Geylang is farther away. Should get those for under $300 Sing. Others in Havelock Road area are crap. Full of loud obnoxious tour groups. Avoid.
Cheers

I have stayed at Furama City Centre and it was OK but they got up my nose with a $30 per day internet fee. Is Furama Riverside the same?
Anyone tried Berjaya? Would be very convenient if you wanted Pinays.

Sudsoz,
Yes Furama Riverfront is the same regarding internet charges, and like the other hotels in that area (Copthorne Kings, Copthorne Waterfront and others) not as convenient for transport. OK if you are familiar with the buses, but a 10-15 minute walk to Outram Park MRT. As Florida K points out if you are happy to travel by taxi they are fine, but remember sometimes taxis get hard to find. Not far to Mohammed Sultan Road for regular drinking (not P4P).
High internet charges really get my goat. Furama used to have a better system where you could buy a 100 hour ticket valid for 6 months but they changed it to our disadvantage.
I carry a small *directional* wireless antenna which is useful in these situations. In Singapore / HK I can 'find' an internet connection most of the time. For Furama City Centre, if you've a room on the Ministry of Manpower / Havelock Sq. side of the hotel you will look out on to 3 HDB blocks. I've never done this because it would be illegal, but I imagine ;) you'll find an open network or two there.
On the positives Furama City Centre is (for me) superbly located. Hard to beat. Right in the middle of Chinatown for those who don't know. Excellent public transport and great food right on the doorstep. Walking distance to Boat / Clarke Quay. 20-30 minutes to OT by public transport, 10 minutes by taxi.
Plenty P4P of all kinds in Chinatown, especially once your antenna are tuned in. Again being careful what I say, one night when I was too lazy to haul my arse over to OT I dreamt the bell captain at Furama CC summoned an acceptable line-up.
Staying in Chinatown can be an advantage over the Orchard area. Better transport and cheaper and better food. And if you pick up from OT you are not so vulnerable to the 'scuttle back to OT for one more trick' problem.
If you can get a decent rate, and you can live with the internet charges (same in many hotels) Furama City Centre is a good choice.
Furama Riverfront is OK, but less convenient. I like it because one time they really fucked me around and as a result I think I'm now on some sort of complimentary upgrade list.
Of course both are totally GF.
We all get pissed off with high internet charges. My solution is to use one of these:

With a little experience your chance of hitting a useable signal outside the hotel is substantially increased. You must make your own choice as to whether or not it's a signal you are entitled to use;)
There are other devices you can use for much greater range but they are more conspicuous and might make you appear like some sort of spy. When they notice the device I use on the desk, many girls are suspicious it's a camera.
I also carry a USB extension cable to allow me to position the antenna in the best place, often a window.
Bought mine a few years back fron Challenger in Funan IT mall. You'll strike out on finding a signal sometimes but it's proved *very* useful.

Sometimes it helps to have been fucked around so that you become a name and a face rather than just a number. This is especially true when the hotels hit overload and rooms are hard to get.
Does anybody know whether Park Hotel on Orchard has an alternative entrance to the main lobby. The lobby seems a little small and I may have colleagues around who I'd like to be caught by during the walk of shame. So, any alternatives would be appreciated.
Thanks

If I remember right, no, there is no alternative entrance. If you are really worried, ask the bell captain to assist, your girl will discreetly appear at your door. A small tip to show your appreciation is in order.

The only alternative is the entrance via the restaurant next door (some chain - forgot the name) which is right next to the elevators. Not sure what time it shuts. Otherwise you have to walk the length of the lobby past a bar to get to the elevators. Blair's suggestion to recruit the bellboy is a good one.

I have a choice either Royal plaza on Scotts or Pan Pacific on Claymore (formerly Negara).
I know both are close to Orchard Rd and both seem good hotels, which should i go for? Any reason in particular?
I like te Plaza`s free wi/fi amd mini bar, but i believe the Pan Pac has bigger rooms?
Any comments?
