Pass on the El Panama Hotel. Yes it is too run down and old for a $120 a night price!
The casino of the El Panaman, is fun to walk around in during the day or late afternoon however.

Ssoleymani, I'm not sure which hotel you're talking about. The hotel attached to the TGIF's is Country Inn & Suites. It's in Amador area. The Courtyard is next to Multiplaza mall. Neither is close to the action, but both are in nice areas. I haven't stayed in either. The Radisson is a nice hotel, but again not close to the action.
Here's run down on places I've stayed at:
Executive Hotel (Hotel Ejecutivo): Getting a little old, but good value at around $80 including breakfast. Very good location, across the street from Le Palace and in walking distance of Elite, Veneto, Habano's. I haven't had problems with street noise here, and A/C works well. Breakfast buffet is good and restaurant is a popular late night eating spot for some hookers. They will make you register your guest and will charge you an extra $10. Lousy gym.
Continental Riande - Reviewed just below in this thread. Girl friendly, excellent location, and at $70 a good value if you can put up with the street noise. Has attached casino, good restaurant. Kick ass suites. No A/C in the lobby.
Veneto - Great location, with one of the biggest selections of free lancers right there in the hotel's casino. Extremely girl friendly. Brand new, nice furnishings in the rooms. A 4 star hotel, with a few kinks still to be worked out. I paid $145, as you say others report lower internet rates. Great gym. I feel like they screwed me on the room rate and probably won't go back.
Bristol -- Nicest hotel I've stayed at in Panama City. Rooms come with a Butler. I paid around $175 a couple of years ago, probably over $200 now. They don't charge extra for your date and will permit her to enter, but they will do their best to make you and her feel like shit.
Miramar Intercontinental - Although it's about a 5 minute taxi ride away from Espana, I like this place. Great restaurants and pool. Right on the Pacific ocean. Costs about $150. I only had one woman visit me in the room, and she had no problem coming up, but I don't have enough of a sampling to know whether they're girl friendly. Great gym.
Montreal -- If you're on a budget, this place is acceptable. Costs around $30. A/C works well and there's a bar on site where hookers hang out. About 3 minutes in taxi to Espana area. I don't trust security -- the bellman came in the room and started playing with the light switch when I was banging a couple of hookers.
Las Vegas and Marriott are very popular medium-end and high-end choices, respectively. They're well located. I've never stayed at either.
Tiny 12,
Thank you for the info. Yes I got mixed up. I was referring to the Country Inn & suites (not the Courtyard) the one that has a TGIF restaurant. I have narrowed my choice to either that or Raddison.
Does anyone know if either the Raddison or the Country Inn & Suites are girl friendly?
Thank You
Ssoleymani,
It was me that quoted that rate for Veneto at $90 per night. I got the quote directly from their site about a month ago. Then the rate jumped up again soon after that. Probably a promotion rate or something like that. I emailed them a reservation request and a customer service rep asked to reply or call with my credit card info to reserve the room. Well, needless to say I was skeptical about that so I held out. Turns out sites like tripadvisor.com says Veneto is known for spiking their bills without informing you. Checkout then becomes a nightmare. They know you have a plane to catch and try to nickel and dime you. Also claims from others that the cleaning staff raid your fridge for snacks to pad the bill too. Now, I can't confirm or deny these claims but thought I would stay in a more mainstream hotel till I see for myself. Bottom line if you stay at Veneto, get a printout of your bill daily and check your room carefully well b4 leaving. Maybe that's a good advice for any place you stay in... I'm still deciding between Crowne Plaza and Riande Continental. Veneto is out. The rate taps into my chica budget. :)
Tony Roma's is next to the Courtyard, not a TGIF. The Courtyard is a fairly short taxi ride to the action. The mall is a very modern, American looking mall. Remember traffic at times is horrible in Panama City. They have free computers with internet access near the lobby. This hotel is a good value and I recommend it if you don't want to pay Veneto prices.
The Country Inn is great for the visiting the canal but is otherwise very far from the action. Do not stay here if you plan on chasing women during your PC visit.
I stayed at Veneto and liked it a lot. The facility's are good, the shower is huge, and girls are often downstairs in the bar and casino. The location is the best in town imho--ground zero for mongering.
Marriott is a great hotel with a good location. Habanos is right across the street, but I thought Habanos had ugly women.
Free Here,
Allover has brought up a VERY important point. If you travel within the hours of about 4-7ishpm on a pay weekend, (The 1st and 15th) it could literally take a taxi 45 mins to get you to the "main" part of the city, Via Espana etc from The Courtyard. Just factor that into your day. When you stay at hotels "around" Via Espana like The Veneto, Las Vegas Suites etc. you can literally WALK to a decent number of MP and other places to chase chicas.
FREE
Ssoleymani, what Free and Allover are saying about Country Inn & Courtyard applies to your other choice, the Radisson. Last time I was in Panama I literally spent an hour on Avenida Balboa, going from the Radisson to Espana. That was on a Friday night around 7:00 PM when traffic was really bad.
While I've never been inside Country Inn, the Radisson should be a MUCH nicer hotel. If you were concentrating on nonpros it would be a great choice. They've got a great bar and are located across the street from the upscale Multicentro shopping mall. There are some nice small restaurants and bars on ground level of Multicentro facing the street, also a Hard Rock Cafe inside the mall.
Can't say whether either of your choices is girl friendly, except that I met up with a scantily dressed Colombiana in Radisson lobby who arrived 30 minutes before me, and we had no problems.
That reminds me of another reasonably good choice in same area as Radisson-- Plaza Paitilla. Cost is about $60-$70/night. My room was musty smelling, but there was no street noise, bed was comfortable, and view through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows was spectacular. If you're a little on the exhibicionist side and have a city view it's an interesting place. Hotel is right on the ocean, and girl friendly. You'll have same problems described by Free if you're going to Espana or Golden Time/Miami when the traffic is bad.

If you are staying at the Country Inn the only things you are close to are Golden Times and Miami. And even to those you will need a short taxi ride. It is a longer ride into town for the main action. It is not the cost, but the time, as Tiny, Allover and Free have said. A friend just stayed at the Continental Riande and was very pleased with it. It is about the most central point to all the walkable "attractions". Probably the midpoint between Veneto and Marriott.
I made a decompression stop in Panama after my 9 day stay at Club VIP in Medellin. Turns out another member, Grobo, who was also at VIP was heading to Panama as well. We made plans to hook up. Grobo is an expert gambler and was now perfecting his strategy at the craps table. This involves how you throw the dice, pretty interesting. We also hooked up to play some blackjack and neutralize the effect of all the idiots at the tables in Panama. Overall we did well.
The first night I arrived I had plans to see a girl I had spent a night with previously. I had met her in La Bodeguita on the last trip and we hit it off. So I promised to hook up with her when I got back to Panama to see how it would go. She showed up in dressed to kill for the “date”. We grabbed dinner and had a good conversation. Turns out she was a lot more professional than I had thought. She told me she worked in St. Maarten, Curacao and Aruba. She said she worked there in bars and restaurants. However, after having read about much of these spots on ISG I knew this was unlikely. What Colombiana would pay airfare and hotel costs to work on an island for tips? She was also 27 which put her a little past my desired age range, especially for a WG. After dinner we headed over to Veneto for some blackjack with Grobo. We then grabbed a table together in the lounge for some drinks and to scout out a chica for Grobo. The Veneto was really buzzing. A large number of working girls. Apparently this is one of the times when they have their open admission policy. Grobo spots a dark haired beauty and invites her over. Turns out she is 20 and from Pereira. She had only been in Panama for a few days. She previously worked in Hong Kong. You guessed it, in a restaurant! We split up a while later. Grobo reported she was not very good. I had a good night and morning with my girl, but will not repeat, based on the factors discussed above.
The next night Grobo and I decided to celebrate some gambling victories. We decided to hit Le Palace. First we met at Habanos for a drink. Got there about 10 only two girls. By the time we left at 10:45 a lot more girls had arrived. About 60% 7’s and above. We did not attempt any negotiations here. The key thing to point out is do not get here before 10:30. I see a lot of guys from the Marriott walking over at 8:00. There are no girls here that early. Also, similar to Veneto there are a lot if independents around now.
We moved on to Le Palace. They always have some of the finest girls and a lot of them. However in the time I have been coming to Panama I have only taken two girls from here. One on the clock, the other off. Both were very good looking and fun in the club. Both were mediocre performers in the room. So I was little worried. As expected there were at least 30 girls here, the majority top notch. We settled in and scanned the room, soon focusing on a couple of prospects. Grobo’s had a Brazilian look about her. Mine is in the attached pics. A 19 year old from Pereira. Real fun in the club. We talked about similar interests. She loved to swear in English. Thought it was funny. Some of the customers thought we were fighting as we exchanged curses loudly. We both decided to take our girls and head out. In a real unexpected turn my girl asked if we could stop by her place before we went to my room. She wanted to pick up some music CD’s and other party supplies. Apparently she suffers from glaucoma. We went by her place, which she shares with 3 other LP girls. It was a real nice house less than 10 minutes from the club. Even more surprising she invited me in while she gathered her things. It was very nice inside and she even had a flat screen TV in her bedroom. We took off and went to the Marriott where we partied for hours. The really cool thing was she loved American rock. I have digitized all my music and she was really excited to see things like Aerosmith and Guns and Roses. I turned her on to some new music by Robert Randolph and she really got into Buckcherry’s Crazy *****. Promised to make her a new CD when I return. Turned out to be really fun in bed as well. Even DFK during sex. Seemed to get into it. The only thing I could not get her to change was a CBJ. I am hoping that a repeat visit will help here. She ended up crashing after the first round and staying till the morning and another round. This was also a first for a LP girl. So my luck at the tables apparently extended to the chicas!
In the interest of science, Grobo and I decided to check out the new Club Midnight, formerly Life Girls. We were actually looking for something to do fairly early, around 8:30. We were handed fliers on the street corner on the way to Veneto and assured there were a lot of girls there already. So off we went. They have a cover charge that includes some benefits and I personally think it is not too bad. It is $10 and you have two options. One option is open bar until midnight. The other is two drinks and 1 table dance. We both chose the second option as we were not there to drink. Turned out there were about 15 girls there and most were fairly attractive with good bodies. None of the girls from the old club were carried over. They are currently operating out of the old club on the 2nd floor, but will be moving up to the 3rd floor shortly. They are also going to reopen the onsite rooms for action with the chicas. The current pricing is $150 bar fine and negotiation with the girls. It can be for an hour or TLN. The girls drink prices are $10 but they were not overly pushy. The free table dance was delivered with vigor, and the girl got topless. The new owner is American and the girls we talked to seemed to think he treated them fairly. There was a good crowd for the couple of hours we were in there. While it is pricey to take a girl from here, it does present a nice option to kill a couple of hours in the early evening. Most of the other action does not get going until later. We also learned that there are usually up to 20 girls there but a few had already been taken out when we got there. Also, the club is open 7 days and the girls get a rotating day off. The days off are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So the full compliment of girls is usually available on Monday thru Thursday.
Also, the Marriott Casino is remodeling. They have put in a new bar and waitresses in skimpy outfits. They are adding a new nightclub inside the casino area where the old 2 story stage was. Not sure when it will be complete. We were never in this casino late enough to evaluate the WG content. They have put a restaurant on the second floor of the casino and are offering a $2.99 lunch buffet. A lot of the local office workers are eating there, with some not so bad sites.
wow . im glad you had a good time. some hot chicas.

Now you see why I had to wait so long to write my reports. Absolutely no free time!
Reg Trav,
Very nice report and two very pretty girls! I'm sorry you had to "slum it" with a 27 yo (lol) I know that is a good bit older than the kind of girls you usually hang with! ;)
I'm glad to hear that the atmosphere at the Veneto Hotel is still electric! Packed with wg's. The Marriott is some classy place but the Veneto seems to be the choice for quality and atmosphere (if p4p is what you're interested in)
I have to admit when you wrote that the girl you were with had glaucoma - I was waiting for the "punch line". Like "she must be blind to hang out with a bunch of drunk Gringos like us" (lol)
But -evidently she really has glaucoma?.....well that's sad. :(
Thanks for the report.............
Regulr Travlr,
I will be in a few months in Panama City and I would like to know how high the prices in my favourite Le Palace are? The last year you had to wait until the club close and with 120-150 you could leave with a chica muy hermosa?

Apparently my sly reference to the legal use of a certain substance to treat glaucoma even snuck by the illustrious Ford!

.......that reference "blew by me" like a Johan Santana fastball! I'm slowing down - next time I'll refer to my Dennis Miller obscure observations handbook first! :D
thanks for the report............
