I want to send out a major " FUCK YOU" to the workers at Santo Domingo airport who put sand all in my luggage because I only put one shoe in my checked luggage. You thieving MFs.
That's fucked up, but damn that's funny, lol. I guess they said they'll fix your ass for not putting the other matching shoe in your luggage, lol!
Was planning to check in as soon as I got here, but been knee-deep in Paisa pussy over the last 24hrs. Probably will bust out a more detailed report, but here are a few sticky points:
1) Sosua ain't got shit on Medellin.
2) See number 1.
3) The chicas here in Medellin are much more cariņosa. Most of my sessions don't start until well after the chicas has been chillin with me in my room for at least an hour or more. They are not in a hurry and do not ask for more money just because she was with you for a long time. Short time in Medellin = at least 3hrs or more.
4) Got plans? Been planning your trip since 3 months out? Fuck your plans. Don't come here with them. I haven't done anything I planned to do yet and have been having the time of my life. Me and a few other guys made plans for tonight to do a ton of stuff, even a party. None of our plans ever happened. Pussy is the biggest monkey wrench ever invented. 4 chicas later I am heading to bed.
5) Fastest way to get killed here? Trying to cross the street; seriously. Bring your running shoes.
6) Where else do you know where you can bang a chica with a track-star body for 38k COP? The chica I banged at New Life today had a body that puts to shame every chica I have ever banged in Sosua in all my 7 trips to the DR.
7) Con: Travel time. Takes me about 5 hours to get here. 4hrs to Panama and 1 hour from Panama to Medellin. 45 minutes from airport to El Poblado. A 3+hour layover in Panama and a 2hr flight delay to Medellin really makes the trip suck even more. Been spoiled from only having to travel about three hours total to the DR.
8) Thought my Spanish was very good. Turns out I don't know shit despite being on Level 4 of Pimsleur Spanish. For that reason I do not recommend traveling here alone if you are not staying at a gringo-friendly spot like HMP 1 and 2. Between me and the other guys I am hanging with, we are fluent when we are places other than the hotel, lol.
Don't get me wrong; my Spanish is very good. The problem is that (for me) when I start to converse with some people, they start to talk to me as if I am a Colombiano instead of a dumb gringo. I have to tell them "lo siento, pero mas despacio por favor."
More later so stay tuned!
Thanks for the report bro.
I look forward to reading more about your trip.

The DR is just close to the east coast of the USA that is all. And if you are complaining about the additional 2 hours to Colombia, then DR might just be your best bet. Remember that you have to crawl before you can walk, but don't stay on your knees forever!

Spirit airlines flies to Colombia but I never fly with those sorry jokers. The MDE flight gets there at 9pm, then you have travel time to the city. With SD, I can leave home at 9am and be on the Malecon at our spot sipping a presidente by 1pm. Hard to beat that. But those fine ass Colombianas make the trip worth it twice a year.
fod girl i met while hanging out with gogo.
i remember this blonde cutie from bb's and re-connected with her at fod's in july. she was a lot of fun in and out of the room.
the over all quality of the talent at fod's will improve as business (clients) improves. there are a few hot girls but it is hit or miss right now because the girls can come a go. lets face it if you are hot and good at your trade you want to go where you have the greatest opportunity to make money. when i was at bb's in july i overheard several clients talking with the girls about the place. the girls had many questions and their only loyalty to one place is if they can make money there. i did not catch all of the conversation as my spanish is not up to the speed they were speaking.
i agree with gogo's suggestions and observations about fod's. i will add my two cents here.
1. reaching out to board members etc. i know they reach out to some of the local places and promote their various events with flyers etc. i also experienced their willingness to upgrade guests that are staying several nights to larger rooms at no additional cost. that was both a nice surprise and something i have never experienced at bb's. that combined with great customer service is how you develop a loyal client. i too would like to see them reach out more on the board with discounts and other specials. airfare is one of the biggest draw backs getting to the north coast so if i am going to up the number of visits to that part of the dr it needs to be worth it. at fod's it is close enough to the airport where i do not need to rent a car on a 3-4 day trip and the cost of the taxi's or other means of transportation is not very expensive so any specials would be nice. for some free pick up and drop off at the airport might be a big plus or at a reduced rate. sometimes it is not the big things that matter the most. when i am away i do not want to be nickle and dimed to death. when i was at fod's i never had that feeling. if anything it was just the opposite.
2. identity or who am i? again i agree there appears to some confusion. am i a party place catering to groups? am i a rent by the hour no tell motel? am i a high end all inclusive resort? or am i a glorified bordello where some clients stay for several days on site? all 4 work for me and have some advantages but i wonder if you can do all of them simultaneously when you are starting out? i hope the answer is yes but it is the marketing of them i would see as presenting the most difficulty.
i offer these thoughts not to be critical but constructive. i want them to succeed because i believe there is a market for them and their location has some real advantages.

Definitely will be returning to Medellin. I'll right more about the trip later, but most likely not until I get back to the States.

-SP
Admit it SavePros, you're hooked now and the DR is a very distant second to Colombia, I am glad to hear you are enjoying yourself, I knew you would.

Right now Delta only has a direct flight to Bogota, and I have no interest in that place because of the weather. I have a 4 day weekend coming up in November, and I'm still debating on flying American to Miami, and then on to Medellin.

I flew United to Panama, then had to take Copa Air to Medellin. When I go to the DR from Houston, I have to stop in Miami first.
At one point the only (best) options for Houston to Medellin was to go from Houston to Miami first via American Airlines. And even then I think it was a stop in Panama before continuing to Medellin. With United and Copa I am able to arrive during the day (5pm-ish). My flight was delayed in Panama, so I didn't end up getting to Medellin until around 7pm. But it was a better drive because had I gotten there earlier I would have spent most of that 40 minute drive from Rio Negro to El Poblado sitting in very heavy traffic.
