List of new places (for me) to try
Although I have been going to Indonesia for years, I've often gotten into a routine of visiting the same places over and over. Hotel Travel, Classic, Malio, KI, and a massage at Sun City (before it closed. I am still bummed about that. I really liked their facilities.) The maybe once or twice a trip I would venture out to Kelapa Gading and usually just visit King Cross and MTR2, sometimes Sumo. Those places were usually more than enough to fulfill my needs over a weekend or weeklong trip. And with the exception of the Kelapa Gading places, were relatively close.
But I've decided that I've become too comfortable in my routine and I want to try some new places. New places for me that is. Here is the list I've compiled so far. We'll see how far along I get with it.
New Medika. I've never sessioned there. But I think I visited and went inside once with a group of friends in like 2005 or 06.
DK Mabes Mangga Besar. Never been. Either their old or new places. But some of the ladies on their Instagram look ok.
Blowart Kelapa Gading. These places haven't been talked about much. But they are blowjob joints. I swear there use to be one in Kota Tua. But now I can only find the place in Kelapa Gading. I guess the easiest comparison is the blowjob bars in Thailand, but probably nicer facilities in Jakarta.
Mr Braid. Sounds like an interesting setup. And they open early apparently, 11 am.
Vermouth Spa Kelapa Gading. Looks like it is in the same complex as King Cross on the upper north side.
1001 Sexy Pool. I've been there once before, but never sessioned there. They have locals and import.
Zaigon Spa. Close to where I normally stay in the Mangga Besar area. Looks like decent facilities.
Sugar Spa and Lounge. Another place I have recently read about.
18 Eighteen. KTV and SPA. Another new place (for me) on the Mangga Besar area. On the corner of Mangga Besar and Gunning Sahari. Seems like the price is on the higher end.
Blitz Massage. Still in Kelapa Gading, but on the north side of Boulevard Bar Raya. Looks relatively close to the complex King Cross is in. I was sold on the report posted here that talked about the extreme ass licking option. LOL.
New Vins. Closer to G2 and Mr. Braid. Sliding cost scale from 300 K to 750 K.
Inflation over the past 17 years at Hotel Travel
I first went to Hotel Travel around the 2005 timeline. I am pretty sure the cost back then for a session was 285 K. 17 years later, in 2022, Travel is now 375 K. In local currency, that is an increase of about 31.5% That is actually not all the bad honestly. That is technically about 1. 85% increase (averaged) each year since 2005.
However, if you compared that to the US dollar. It's actually even better.

According to this historical document, in 2005, the IDR to USD was about 9704 IDR to 1 USD. 285,000 / 9704 amounts to about 29.36 USD.
In 2022, the USD is now 14870 IDR to 1 USD. The USD is the strongest its ever been against the IDR, except in the early Covid days when it went to over 16 K. But Indonesia was closed and those of us not lucky enough to be there could not take advantage of this exchange rate.
Anyway, 375,000 / 14870 is about 25.21 USD. So for those of you fortunate enough to get paid in USD, you've actually experienced negative inflation of about -14.1%.
In 2005, one of my other favorite places was 230,000 for a session or 23.70 USD. Now that same place is about 400,000 for a session or 26.89 USD. For locals, that is a staggering 74% increase over 17 years. Or about 4. 3% a year averaged. In USD terms, the inflation was about 13.4% or less than 1% a year.
My point is, this could all change in a heartbeat and who know what will happen. The USD probably won't stay this strong against the IDR forever. But now may be a uniquely good time to take advantage of the strong USD, if you happen to get compensated in that or a similarly strong currency against the IDR.
