Late Report
Hate to break it to you, but it's not this complex. You make an offer, or she makes an offer (in advance) and if she/you can't agree, you pass on the deal. If do you, you take the deal.
Most of the girls are far better at negociating than the average monger going down there. They do it every day and have loads of experience. They will certainly try to get the upper hand but in the end, if the price is too high or above what they see as the value of the service, the monger isn't going to pay it anyways.
The only thing working in the favor of the monger is the pure desperation of many of the girls. They will often take less than what the service is worth. If the chick isn't desperate, no amount of "game" is going to help you.

Bro, if we were talking about Rio I would agree, Bangkok - agree, Dubai - agree, but the little sleepy town of Sosua - disagree. Game (or maybe I'm just that beautiful) has gotten me more free (meaning no strings attached: no money, no gifts, no meals, no drinks) hookers from the bars and streets of Sosua than any other mongering destination in the world. Like my friend described it to me before my first time there....He said that it reminded him of Rio before they started making rap videos there and all the guys started going down trying to be ballers and passing out money as if it grew on trees. Many of the girls had a type of innocence and naivity unlike the infestation of hardened pro-ism that exists there now. And when I arrived in Sosua, lo and behold he was right.
I never got a chance to report on the last time I was there back in September so here it goes:
The last person I was with in Sosua I pulled out of Latinos. She was standing in the same spot for quite a while with a friend and I called her over. She asked me why I didn't like any of the other girls around. (She was specifically making an honest reference to two transvestites who were in front of me trying to draw attention to themselves from anyone who would look. How could she not know that they were not women? Then again, there was a Dominican guy all over one of them like he had just struck gold. I don't know. The shit was just so obvious to me.)
I told her that I had been watching her and that she was more my type. I told her that I was staying at the Europa and asked where she lived. She told me that she was in an apartment that is right before Europa. I asked her if we could go to her place and she accepted. But first she wanted to find her friend to let her know she was leaving. (I could not risk her getting back to her friend. It is just my luck, as has happened before, that further communication with the friend would open a can of worms and throw a monkey wrench into my whole setup. Friends are known to put their two cents in with questions and responses like, "How much is he giving you?" "That is not enough." or "How long are you staying with him?" "That is too much time.") I replied telling her that she is an adult and her friend will later realize that she left with me. She agreed.
We went to her place. Sure enough it was in a building that was about a two minute walk from Europa on the same side of the street. I would have never even guessed it was a building full of apartments. She removed the padlock from her door. The crib was simple. One room and a bathroom. No A/C, no refrigerator, stove, or microwave. Just a bed, a few sets of clothes hanging on a rack and about 10 pairs of shoes on the floor. We were laying on the bed talking. Come to find out she is from Santo Domingo and came to Sosua to make money to support her baby. She asked why I wanted to come to her apartment. I told her that I just wanted to talk to her and get to know her.
After a while I got thirsty but she did not have any beverages. I told her that I had some juice and water in the refrigerator back at my room. She said she was not thirsty but would accompany me there. Next thing I knew we were back at the Europa taking showers, fucking, and falling asleep. The next morning I awoke to my cel ringing. On the caller id I could see it was one of my non-pros who was supposed to be arriving from Santiago. It would be her first time in Sosua. I was praying that she wasn't already in the lobby. I went to the bathroom and dialed her back and she said that she was on the bus and they were about an hour from Sosua.
I went ahead and took a dump and a shower then went back to the room to wake old girl up. She went in and took a shower and came back out and sat on the bed. I told her that I was going to go to the beach for awhile before I had to leave for home. I asked her if she would like for me to have her phone number or her email. She said that she did not have email and did not know how to use a computer. But she gave me her phone number. I told her that I had enjoyed her company and sent her on her way. Money was never even discussed. I quickly, but meticulously performed damage control to make sure there would be no evidence for my non-pro to find.

So let me get this straight.
This girl is working to take care of her child;
its obvious she's dirt-poor
and Mr World Traveler didn't give her a cent and you're bragging about it?
Like you're proud of yourself?
So when did you last get a humanity check?
I think its missing.

Talk about a direct hit.
I think sometimes we forget that most of these chicas do this for no other reason but to feed their families. Most girls I run into are taking care of a family of 4 to 6 people in a part of the world where finding gainful employment is near impossible. I am just as guilty as anyone by exploiting the situation by simply mongering, but to exploit the naiveté of these chicas by getting freebies and bragging about it is difficult for me to comprehend.
I am not trying to flame here, trust me, but I am only trying to bring out, in a different way, that we can punt and be human at the same time. These chicas are not pieces of meat. They are Mothers, daughters and, although it may sound strange, many times responsible bread winners.
My 2 cents.

Trip questions
I have read two years worth of forum posts and still have a few questions:-)
First, has anyone contracted a STD from any of the girls in Sousa? Most boards mention std concerns(either a particular girl has something etc) but this board is void of such concerns. Given the prevelance of BBBJ I'm surprised no one has come down with anything.
Second the jury seems out on whether USD should be exchanged at the airport in Santo Domingo. Some folks say to bring no money and take all of your cash out of the ATMs. Some say exchange it. Which is the better?
I am flying into Santo Domingo at 7pm. Can I still get a Caribe bus to Sousa at that time? I have decided to go to Sousa rather than Santo Domingo for the prices, etc.
Do the girls liked being photographed? I am ONLY going to hunt down chicks with DD's. After seeing so many of the top heavy Domincans on bigtitscurvyasses I am going to take a ton of pictures and videos. In some instances I will only photograph them as I am a photography nut.
Are the safes at Europa and New Garden large enough to accomodate a laptop?
Thanks everyone.
Thanks.

Merry Xmas everybody.
I really don't like to get into online flame wars, but it does seem to me that guys often get upset if they think other guys are paying too much, on the grounds that this will poison the well for future visitors to the location in question.
I think it is equally possible that guys may poison the well by ripping off girls.
Maybe we need to invent the concept of Fair Trade Mongering just like we have Fair Trade coffee and other third world products.
Wearing your Fair Trade Monger badge will, of course, get you a discount from Fair Trade Providers.

Who knows? BBBJ is unlikely to transmit an infection to a man. Condomless anal sex is extremely likely to give you an infection, especially an e-coli urinary infection. However, you can buy antibiotics cheaply without a presription in the DR and a 5-day course of Cipro should take care of most infections.
Using a condom for intercourse greatly reduces chances of an STD. Most of the girls shave or trim, which greatly reduces chances of parasites such as crabs or scabies.
I have never caught an infection from around 100 girls in the DR, but a sample of 1 is not scientific. I have only had sex without condoms with a handful, but I have had BBBJ and DATY with many. Hope this helps.

You can change money at a fair rate at a BANK at the airport, but not at the change office inside the customs area. You will find the same thing at Miami airport--ripoff change places inside the airport. ATMs are fine. However you may wish to carry a $100 bill or two just in case you have an ATM malfunction or lost card or something.

Last bus leaves SD at 7:00 p.m., so no. BTW, the place is called Sosua.

No, they don't, especially if intended for publication, but you can negotiate anything.

If I cant take the bus after 7pm can I take a regional airplane to Sosua? I dont want to waste a night in Santo Domingo because I am only in DR for three days. I've read the SD forum and there doesnt seem to be any action for less than 1500 pesos.
Any suggestions how I can get to Sosua after 7pm(other than a rental car) would be appreciated.

Change your flight to an earlier one. There are usually at least 3 flights a day to SDQ. Change your flight to Puerto Plata (or Santiago). It may cost you a change fee, but it will be worth it and will save you the $40 cab fare from SDQ to the bus station, plus cost of bus and food en route. Plus it will save you time.
You could also get a taxi to take you from SDQ to Sosua. Maybe $120.
You won't get much in Sosua for less than 1500 pesos, not much less anyway. Are you sure you can afford to make this trip? Did your mother book the flight to SDQ for you without consulting you?
Who knows?
... Most of the girls shave or trim, which greatly reduces chances of parasites such as crabs or scabies.
Just one side comment. Shaving also increases the skin to skin contact area which if there is genital herpes, can elevate the chance of transition.
has anyone contracted a STD from any of the girls in Sousa?
This is actually a question not particular to Sosua girls, but the risks of mongering in general. Here is the best summary I have found of the involved risks. http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=664087&postcount=62

Which is the better?
People are trying to tell you change just enough money from the airport to get you to an ATM on the outside. Maybe a little bit more in case the power is out and the ATM are down.
ATMs and walk in Banks are the best way to go for getting superior currency rates than all other options. The DR Bank uses a contracted rates schema with the targeted US bank. Ease of use is by far the ATM.
I would also like to know about the safes being large enough for laptops. I seem to recall a post giving dimensions somewhere.

You might want to re-think your trip. Other than taking a taxi to Sosua you will be stuck in Santo Domingo.
What day do you arrive? If you arrive during the week by the time you get to Sosua everything will be closed.
What time is your return flight? You need about 5 hours travel time to get from Sosua to SDQ.

Thanks for all the relevant information from the board members(such as Bq Ribs). The smart ass comments from other members arent necessary as this is an informational forum and not a grudge board.
I am getting in January 1st at 7pm. I cannot change my plans. If I have to pay the $80 dollar taxi ride I will as it is only a 2 hour ride. I can be in Sousa by 10:30 for sure.
Anyone have an experience taking the taxi from SD to Sousa?

Sorry if I offended you. Have you already tried to change the flight? If you are flying from the US on American Airlines it may be possible. Puerto Plata airport is less than 10 minutes from Sosua, so even if it costs you $100 to change (which i think is the fee), it would still be a big savings both on expense and time over the 2 legs of the journey. You would not have to get up early on the day of departure, and you could squeeze in a girl or two before leaving for the airport after lunch. Think about it.
If you are flying from Europe, you are probably stuck with your flight.
It is not a 2-hour ride to Sosua. I would say 3 1/2 hours if all goes well. It will take at least 40 minutes to get from SDQ to the northern highway before you even start the journey north. And Santiago to Sosua is the best part of 90 minutes on some pretty scary roads on the pass through the mountains.
It will not cost $80 for the taxi one way. I think at least $120.
It costs $40 just to Santo Domingo, and the driver has to make a long return journey too, arriving home in the wee small hours.
I have flown into SDQ in the days when the fare was much cheaper than POP (now it seems to be equal) and have overnighted at the hotel Mercure and traveled on the next day and arrived round lunch time. But I had my return flight out of POP.
I just checked and there seem to still be some seats available from NY and Miami to POP, even if you have to return through San Juan.
It may be that you have no choice but to take a taxi from SDQ to Sosua, and then return to SDQ, but this will make it a rough and tiring trip, not to mention expensive.
-
Jedi: Try POP
Jedi,
When you get to Miami go to the desk and try to change your flight to POP it will save a lot of hassle and it should cost $150. All that back and forth between SDQ and Sosua with only a 3 day trip you will only have one complete day in Sosua and if there's a problem on the road going back to SDQ you are screwed.
Good luck.

Thanks for the information. I am flying from Los Angeles. Flights into POP seem alot more expensive than flying into SD. So I guess I am screwed.
My flight out is at 11:10am so I guess I will have to take the bus the night before to be sure I am at the airport on time.
After all of the international mongering I have done I should have caught this important oversight(i.e. not being close to Sosua and only having three days). I need to research better in the future.
Are there any regional airlines that can get me from SD to Sousa quickly? Also I have been told the Caribe website is outdated(the times). How do you get the correct departure times from SD and Sosua?
-
Jeidi,
It seems you should plan on just staying in Santo Domingo. Sorry, but with only three days in the country and arriving late on the first, there is not much time to worry about Sosua.
I hear there is a redlight district in Santo Domingo that should be fun for you. Flights from LAX to POP are from $600-$800 usually. American has the best rates.
By the time you get to Sosua you will only have one day in town and will have spent whatever you saved on the flight to Santo Domingo on transportation to Sosua. Just have a good time where you are and post on the forum to let us know how it was.
Happy Holidays guys/
