Thanks. Novo Hotel is nice but rates are too high. Any $25 per night options relatively close to Kiss Fresh? Please advise.
On one trip I stayed at some eco psuedo hostal near the university (up hill from blvd de los heroes). I forgot the name of it but I am pretty sure I found it in a guide book. It was in walking distance to KF but otherwsie it was in a nightmare location. There was one little bodega next door that sold minature water bottles and no real food in sight.
The one other gringo staying there was well acting like a gringo by distancing himself from me and any conversation. Needless to say I ran from that place to the novo hotel and was glad I did.
From my experiences expect to pay $40 and above for a hotel in san salvador or expect to live like a hippie in a communal environment. Keep in mind the endless hills and hot humid weather when you travel from place to place.
*There is street not far from mall metro centro that has a few hotels lined up one after the other. You will recognize this in any guide book as the author describes " and just across the street is.) I looked at a one or two but prices were in the $60 range. In general I found San Salv to be a buzzkill.
Just remembered ISG member jaimito cartiero found a decent $35 a night hotel not far from the novo hotel. Also in guide books or maybe way back in this thread. I looked inside once but too
Small for me.
Don't expect much on your budget.
* I also remember a motel on the way to KF coming from the novo hotel. From novo hotel you go straight up a hill towards a redondel (traffic oval) with a statue of a girl. General KF area. Before U-turn off onto the little residencial street where KF is you will be leaving a main road. On that road close to the KF area I saw an interesting motel / love motel looking place in the $30 range. This was a few years ago though.

That. Is the street with all the little hotels I was talking about. It would be a long walk. Depending on what kind of shape you are in. IMHO your budget for hotels will be a huge inconvenience. Ecuador would be right up your alley.

San Salvador
Never ceases to amaze me how this is one of the most undiscussed places on this board. There are direct flights to SS from Toronto, and all thru the US, which makes it a very easy location to get to, and there never are any problems entering the country. You only pay $10, but they do stick a visa stamp in your passport, which can be annoying to some.
I am not trying to make a political statement here, but the simple fact is in the last two years since the election of the socialist gov. The economy of the country has gone downhill fast, and this is not my opinion, but simple facts from the newspapers. Given that, the chica experience logically should be good, and it is! I went to three places, KF. 316 and Zou Spa, all easy walking distance from the Real Intercontinental Hotel. KF has a relatively large number of gringos, but 316 and Zou Spa have virtually none, and during the day it is not busy at all, I spent close to four hours with one girl. There is always a cover charge, usually $4, but that includes a local beer. The girls line up in a semicircle, you make your choice, and there is no rush at all, I spent a good hour with her before we went in the back. Yes, chica drinks are expensive ($12) , and a pail of beer is $15, but they are most accomodating, especially when there is very little business during the day. ES uses the US$, so exchange issues, and while it is somewhat more expensive than other places, I can certainly say it is a great time, and very relaxed.

I totally agree with you. ES is a nice place to monger. KF is good for eye candy and for setting up something outside the club. 316 was a total waste of time for me when I went to visit. The chicas were not as attractive and the place is a bit dumpy. I have never made it to Zou Spa, but I read lots of good reports from it. I would like to pay it a visit the next time I am down there. Do you know where I can find it?
Cheers.

Zou Spa
Hello, Mr. A158, how are you? I wouldn't call 316 'dumpy' but let's face it, it isn't the Waldorf Astoria either. Whaddaya expect for $40? .
Zou Spa is actually very close to 316, if you are on AV FD Roosevelt, turn down 39th street to the end. Then you make a right turn towards the gymnasio nacional, it is quite easy to see. On the other side of the street, there are.
A series of shops, with low numbers starting at 6, I believe. Zou Spa is number 12. I walked it from Real Intercontinental. Any cabbie should know the gymnasio, or you can find it on Google Maps
I went to dinner yesterday in the states with a SS girl. I don't feel comfortable asking her too much about nightlife there. I'm talking non pro. She said there is a nice area in SS and I can't remember it but it started an M and could be like milambre, milaniab. Seemed like a constanant was stuck in the word that didn't need to be there. Anyway, I just want to get over to SS for about 5 days and was thinking ss and La Libertad. A few days at the beach would be nice. Can someone give me a simple itinerary for 5 days. Is it a good country to check out and why or why not? Is La libertad worth the trip or is there a better spot?
Thanks
La libertad is a dump even though some people surfe there. Down the coast further south are a few all inclusive resorts but otherwise deadsville.
I to had really good sex in san salvador at a very fair price. However there in NOTHING exciting about nightlife in san salvador and you will wear yourself out trying to walk it. Can't be done. You must use a taxi going from place to place or stress yourself out walking up hills to bus stops.
Hot humid frustrating boring to the T is what san salvador is all about. If you rent a car you could drive up and down the coast and that might be entertaining or visit a few civil war towns ie. Suchitoto. BUT there is no vibe. Just affordable sex.
SS would be a good place to start a CA trip. Easily accessible to guatemala city then to maybe CR or Nicaragua.
5 days. You would enjoy it. Anymore IMHO it would get very old. Great mexican food.

Amen!
Your comments are spot on. La Libertad is a pit and dangerous. There a few surf beaches up the road. Las Turcos? But there was zero action when I was there. They get a lot of rain this time of year too destroying any beach and bringing down garbage (I. E. Dead cows) from the river to the sea.
SS is almost as bad. Kiss Fresh is decent with good prices and some pretty girls but in my view, the strip club called Lips flat out sucks. Almost all the girls in both places have nina's they are supporting through their trade. You have to be fairly careful while walking about. As mentioned in the other comment, it can be hot and humid and SS is not pedestrian friendly. Nite life is weak. As far as Suchitoto, I met Salvadoreans who would not go there because of the heat. There is virtually nothing to do there, which basically describes the entire pais.
The only place I liked was Ataco, a pretty coffee town with nice weather and a pleasant town. There is a nice coffee estancia on the way there owned by an American / Salvadorean guy. Worth a visit but don't expect any babes by the pool. BYO!

Thanks
Well. I wouldn't say there is nothing to do in ES. There are quite a few things and I think 5-7 days is about all the time you will need.
There are some Mayan archeological sites if you like that sort of things. Lago de Coatepeque is really nice if you like nature or the Boqueron. And there are a few nice little towns here and there for which I think would be better to pay for a guided tour.
The nightlife it's only good on the weekends. Weekdays are dead. The the place to be is called La Gran Via. Which is a really nice site with restaurants and bars all over the place. Also pretty close to this one you can find Multiplaza which is really nice as well. You also have Zona Rosa which get busy every once in a while. During the weeknights you are better off going out for dinner and arranging a girl to come to your hotel afterwards. You also might want to go to LIPS just to have a few beers. You might get lucky and find a few good looking girls. You can do pretty much everything at the club except letting your dick jump out of your pants.
Do not go to La Libertad! That will be a waste of time. If you want to spend some time at the beach I would recommend Costa del Sol, Salinitas or playa El Cuco. Those are the best IMHO.
One of the things I like about ES is that the food is really good and super cheap. Last time I was there I had lunch, dinner and was drinking all day till about 11pm all for under $40. And of course as you've seen in this forum, you can find nice girls for good prices.
So as you can see if you go for 5 days it would be time well spent.

Great find in SS
I am back for my return trip and stumbled on a street mongers dream by sheer chance. I was driving south on 49a. Avenida Sur away from Metro Centro just after dark and noticed a very pretty woman standing just under the overpass at 1a. Calle Poniente. She was watching cars go by and a few pulled up around the corner and she followed them. I had no idea that there was any kind of a street scene anywhere near the vicinity but decided to investigate further and found that the next few blocks south had quite is few more woman standing around watching cars go by. I circled around a few times and they were clearly looking at me so I pulled over and was immediately joined in my car by a beautiful young woman named Joanna. She took me around the corner up an alley to an establishment on 1a. Calle Poniente. 7 dollars for the room and 20 for a very sweet and pretty Joanna. This scene may be already well known but but was not by me. Will definitely return. Check it out.

316 has recently gotten a few new 18-20 yo girls. It's worth checking out if you're in town.
The business seems to be booming at the moment, with a lot of girls providing almost every service you want.
-
Is this the one?
El Despacho 316, Condomino Flora Blanca A, Calle El Progresso and 43 Av. Sur.
-
Ok I checked it out
It turns out that 316 is the same place that I complained about in the San Salvador lists forum. If you scroll down to World Travelers list of casas number 6 and 7 are actually the same place. I recognized it immediately and after some thought decided to try it again as it was daytime afternoon and the last time I had been there was after dark. You are correct. There is a new and very fine lineup of ladies now compared to last time. There were many ladies there and they were all beautiful. It was truly a top notch line up. Unfortunately there were also a lot of very unpleasant looking guys who seemed very menacing and did not seem happy to see me there. I picked Angie who was the perfect choice as she was very sweet and accommodating and was everything I could have hoped for. I left immediately after the session and won't go back. I would love to see all those beautiful chicas again but don't want to go anywhere near all those nasty looking hombres. I felt like I was surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves. BTW the last casa on the list. El Despacho 316, only a couple of blocks from the other 316, appeared to me to be defunct. There were businesses in the building but nothing that looked like this kind of establishment.

H1
A friend and I made a sat-tues. Continental special trip tp SS in April, stayed at the Marriott. Great place to stay, but expensive, he had a bunch of points, thank God. Beside it was a plaza that had nice restaraunts very near there was a complex that had about 5 different bars in it called the KGB. It was awesome, I highly recommend it. Met locals and non-pros there and picked up one girl and went to hotel, had a blast with her 2 nites, went to KF and it was off the chain. I hooked up with one girl who was 18 and just started that day, I was her 1st trick. She was SO fine and awesome that I almost missed my plane the next morning cause I HAD to have her one more time with her, the next mornong. Can, t remember her name tho, but will recoginze her when I go back. Went to LIPS, had great time. Hooked up with girl behind the bar, serving non alcohol drinks, one of the prettiest women that I have EVER seen. Highly recommend SS trip. Could go into detail but, all I can say is it was awesome and price was great,
