I will be in Barranquilla March 25-29, before going to Cartagena. Longer if I like it. Anyone who wants to get together to meet some chicas, drop me a line. I will stay at the Hotel Sorrento, 358-2130.
What are the pharmacies like in Barraquilla? Is it possible to get pills without a prescription? Not necessarily viagra, but rather regular prescriptions so that I can avoid going back to my doctor and paying US prices. Would it help if I brought the old bottle to show it was legit?

DB
Most pharmacies will sell you drugs without a prescription, except those that they call here, CONTROLLED drugs, like sleeping pills and some other,I am sorry I am not too familiar with drugs.
The problem I see is the translation of the name of the drug you intend to buy. Bringing the bottle, and the original prescription might help somewhat in the case the pharmacist is able to make out what the English written contents of the drug, if any, are, and then give you something similar, explaining what they are for might also help.
But is this drug falls into the CONTROLLED category, I doubt you might be able to get it. I hope this helps you a little bit. Welcome and enjoy your stay. Cheers, Peter Solano
You can get nearly any non-narcotic drug without a prescription, but you can forget about saving money. Nearly everything is imported from the US. So you pay US prices plus an import fee. There might be some savings in that you don't need a doctor's visit.
You can get drugs a lot cheaper than in the united states, most of them are not imported from the USA, they are either made in Colombia or imported from a neighbouring country. They are specially cheap if you know the generic name of the prescription, then you can really save some money.

Most Pharmacists here act like Doctors, whether that is good or bad, if you tell them what you need the drug for, they might give you something that works. So bring the bottle and the original prescription with you.
From reading all of the Barranquilla posts it seems like it is more: Find a new wife friendly than a P4P option. Is that correct? Would meeting young ladies be an option for a 55 y.o. American, that is not really looking for a wife, at least until I get through getting rid of my current one?
So, would you still recommend a trip to Barranquilla or stay in CTG?

So, would you still recommend a trip to Barranquilla or stay in CTG?
Well Cartagena is a tourist city, people come and go.
Barranquilla is a NORMAL city, so it would be easier to find them here.
I always recommend placing an ad in the paper so that you can make your contacts, and sure a lot of women would spend time with a 55 year old man , for a good time and what comes with it, dinner , gifts, etc.so I think Bquilla would be a better place to go. Email me. Peter.
Since I am headed to Barranquilla, my 65 year old friend asked me to pick him up some Viagra.
Yes, my friend, really, LOL.
What is the cheapest cost for the highest dosage? Generic is fine, 100 MG if possible.
Anyone know the best pharmacy to shop?
I need to know how much to collect from him before I go.
Thanks!

DB
I am not into viagra, well at least not yet. LOL
But last I heard it was about COL$10.000 /US$5 a pill.
Buy it at a reputable pharmacy like OLIMPICA, or you might end up with a DUMMY PILL.
If you need anything, PM me.
Cheers,
Peter. :)
I have just hung up calling OLIMPICA to verify prices.
VIAGRA 100MGRS, COL $27.000 a pill,
Exchange rate ( AVERAGE) US$1/COL$2.170= US$12 a pill,
GENERIC 50MGRS COL$5.000 a pill about US$2 a pill, checking prices over the web, you are almost better off buying the pills there.
Cheers,
Peter
Someone asked me THIS in another forum.
And since it seems to be a common problem, I thought I would post it here.
Perhaps someone can benefit from it.
PROBLEM:
"I can't clear the IE address history. I have tried going through Tools and also through the Control Panel but to no avail.
Whenever I go to the internet and begin typing the site as soon as I type a "w" following the http://www. the worldsexXXX.XXXXX pops up.
This could become highly embarassing.
I'm running IE6.0 with SP2 installed - with Windows XP.
Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to delete this non-wanted addy?"
SOLUTION:
Follows steps carefully and DO NOT touch anything else in the registry
Start, RUN type REGEDIT, there, look for EDIT, look for FIND, type as follows: typedURLs, (Small and CAPITAL letters just like it is here)
Hit: find next, DELETE all those registries, Close the application.
Open your IE6, tools, options, clear cookies, clear all offline content, history.
Go to content, AUTOCOMPLETE,disable, web addresses, forms, usernames and passwords, and then hit clear forms, and BINGO, you are done!!!
Leave all these disabled to prevent future entries.
ALSO change the settings on TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES on the tools menu, UNDER:CHECK FOR NEWER VERSIONS OF STORED PAGES to: NEVER.
IT WORKS , BUT I must insist, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
I tried and it worked for me I. I hope it does for the rest of you.
Cheers,
Peter Solano

DB
Instead of muling back a bunch of prescription drugs (which you could get in trouble for), I would highly suggest you tell your friend to go to www.rx-mex.net and check out their generic Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. If you buy a shitload of it, it can cost as little as $1.99 per pill. In reasonable quanitities (say 30 or so) it runs about $3 per pill (100 mg). These guys have a great rep and excellent customer service (I was ripped off by two different websites selling fake generics before I discovered them). I've referred dozens of people to this site from my Canadian prescription business (Viagra, etc. actually averages a bit more in Canada) and my customers (most of whom are seniors) swear by it.
Two other bonuses; NO prescription is needed and they guarantee their prices, so if you find it cheaper on the web, let them know and they will match the price you find, plus take off another 5%. Hope this helps!
The actual price I paid at Olimpica last week for generic viagra came to $1.25 each. They come in a box of two pills, 50 MG each.
I was surprised they were blue, as in Argentina the generics were red.
Most of you mongers can probably cut them in half, bringing it down to .63 cents a dose.
That is better than any other price I have seen quoted here.

I used this service between Barranquilla and Cartegena, and it worked out great! They actually showed up 15 minutes early.
I can highly recommend Invertours.
Surfer - no need to take a taxi from CTG to BAQ. There are auto rentados services that run between the cities, several times a day. Basically, an auto rentado is a mini-van where 6 passengers share the 150.000COP fare between the cities, meaning 25.000COP each way. Very safe (you register your ID for the trip, driver submits to MPs on military checkpoints), convenient (they come to your hotel and pick up the confirmed passengers at their residences), and timely (takes approx. 70-90 mins. total). You are dropped off where you you need to be in CTG/BAQ. Basically, same as a taxi, but much cheaper. I've taken them many times and would recommend them. Call before to confirm.
