Is it possible to go into these places without having alcohol. Any ideas guys?
Haha absolutely.
Just ask for whatever you want.
I know for a FACT that a bottle of water at Lalo's club costs 20k.
Ouch!

I have stayed at the Dann Carleton on 15th ave and i think 113 a small chica fee but nothing embarassing and the hotel costs me about 100 a night. It is a first class hotel. There is another Dann on 93 but too big for my taste.
Mel.
Great report,
You are really learning Bogota. How about a cross reference to the Santa Fe map already on the site? How is escuela?
Great report, You are really learning Bogota. How about a cross reference to the Santa Fe map already on the site? Mel
I never used the map on the site because it was too small to read. But the Santa Fe red lilght district is not that complicated. The transmilenio station has exits for calle 22 or calle 24 at the other end). Basically the "safe" area (this is relative) is between both ends of the station, going 4 blocks away toward the airport, away from the mountains. There are lots of other prostitutes working in smalll apartments in other streets nearby, but there is no police presence there so you are on your own. (not recommended for the obvious gringo).
I have an update on my hostel. Tonight after my non-pro left (without sex) I had a call from a working girll that I met in zona rosa (calle 86a, exstasis) in June. She wanted to come over and visit. She arrived at 745pm and stayed until 1030pm. We made love in my room, we made diinner in the shared kitchen, she used the shared shower, etc. No one said anything. But the staff knew she was visiting me. At 1030pm the desk clerk knocked on my door and told me that at this time all visitors had to leave for the night. I could probably have registered her in and paid 10k pesos more for 2 people in my room, but she had to get home anyway. This was done quite discretely and politely, so I can say that at least 2 hostels I know are girl friendly. There are others in La Candalaria whose web sites explicitly say they are quiet places with no partying, no alchohol, and probably no visitors I would guess.

I was recommended the St. Simon Hotel as being cheap and chica friendly. Well, now their rate for a "sencilla" room is 194K and for a Jr. Suite 285K. They also have a "guest fee" of 90K (approx. US$40).
How do you guys feel in general about the Suites 85 (or 97)? I think 85 is near ZR isn't it? Embassy Suites sounds great but it's not in a great location, or so I hear. Or maybe I should just go for a private apt.? Help me out here, guys. Thanks!
Doc
This is the map I was referring to.
Have Fun,

I was busier than usual so I did not partake in as much mongering as I wanted too but I will proceed anyway.
Day one got a room in Hotel de Lujo 45k per day, procceded with my buisness then went to La Piscina Nightime these women were charging 70-90k no thanks, proceeded to Las Paisas 40k there is also an establishment next to it I cant remember also 40k. What I find disturbing as a value monger is how expensive is to monger in bogota granted the woman are better looking woman and granted their performance is excellent but they still knock on the fucking door after 20 min so WTF I might as well stay in ecuador where I can go to a chongo and pay 6 bucks and be done with it.
Just my 0.02 cents.

Blourghus,
I don't drink either - already used up my lifetime allotment of booze. So if you get any info on survival for the non-drinker in Colombia please let me know!
Thanks!

Thanks!
There should be no problem with you guys having a good time without booze. Most nice bars include non alcoholic drinks in their lists. Non drinking attitudes have been highly stimulated by local authorities during the last decade, and club owners are aware of the importance of pampering this side of their clientele. In fact, most Colombian working girls come from disfunctional homes, destroyed by alcoholic fathers or violent boyfriends, and highly appreciate sober, clever and kind men over the usual hard partiers.
The issue always comes down to money. All brothels, bars, discos, clubs, restaurants, etc., earn most of their profit from selling alcohol. But if you're willing to pay overpriced water or sodas, everyone should be happy enough with you and treat you no differently than they treat their regular drinking clients.

Last night, a Paisita wanted a "plan arrunche" with me. We opened a bottle of wine and watched together in bed a DVD I had bought in a Carulla shop: "Sonar no cuesta nada". The major scene of the movie is in a brothel that looked familiar to me and my Paisita whispered in my ears: "That place really exists in Bogota, it's named la Piscina". I did as if I didn't know what she was talking about of course. Oh! I nearly forgot to mention, we had great sex together.
