Dalan-jeu-jeom is mostly a rip-off no matter who you go with. I tried this once with some Korean friends and wound up paying like 360.000W for the usual whiskey-fruit plate-dried squid deal. They did provide two girls, kind of young for my tastes; they sang songs, poured our drinks, and served us appetizers while I sat and brooded over how much money I was spending. I went home wondering how much a "real" Room Salon would have cost me...
Tabangs - its hit or miss with these places, and you definitely need a rudimentary knowledge of Korean to get anywhere. Ask them if they provide "ticket-bee" service. That's basically the fare you pay for an hour of company, usually about 20.000W. Does not include sex, you'd have to negotiate that on the side, and in my experience it takes more than one visit to the tabang to establish your credibility. I scored in this scene once with a waitress who turned out to be a divorcee. It was great dating her and great sex while it lasted (about 4 months); then one day she just disappeared. If you can speak some Korean, you may get lucky, otherwise you'll just be buying a lot of coffee. Like most things in Korea, Tabangs were great years ago, loaded with cute young Korean aga-sshi. In recent years I find them populated mostly by older ajummas, some ethnic Chinese-Korean girls, and male motor-bike drivers (they deliver the coffee-girls).

I lived in Korea from 84 through 93. In the last year, I have been to Korea 2 times for the first time since I left in 93. Things have change a lot since 93. I knew all places to go and have fun. Now it is like being lost. Where to go, prices etc. What places outside of Itaewon are the place for westerns to have fun. Like Barber Shops, Turkish Baths, Short Time houses, etc. Also what are the going prices. I am returning to Korea in a month and would like to know where to go! I will be staying at the Renaissance Hotel. Any thing in that area? Any help would be great!

I recently came back from a three week sojourn from Korea. I had a great time for the most part. Prior to my trip, I checked out this and other boards for some suggestions on where I might find some action.
People seem to have got Itaewon spot on. Hooker Hill is a major rip off, especially if you not staying in Seoul and you can't keep going back and forth to set up something. I couldn't really get anyone to budge from a 100,000W ($82) BJ. I am sorry, but I'm not willing to pay that much, especially when I can get a blow job for $5 in the Bronx. I really don't know what else I can say about the Hill. I am sure that if I spent more time there and had more time to do some negotiating that I could have struck some sort of deal, but I had some time constraints, especially since the subway stops running so early. That really sucks! They should really do something about that.
I thought some of the bars at Itaewon were pretty cool. One I liked was Seoul Pub, which is by the Itaewon subway stop. The music there sucks, but some of the girls who hang out there are amazing. I don't know if they're pros or not. I had some luck with a waitress there who gave me her number afterwards. She was a sweet little thing who spoke pretty good English.
If you're a foreigner and you want to fuck around with some Korean girls, Itaewon is the place to be. It absolutely blows in the daytime when the only people who approach you are young school girls who just want to practice the English phrases they learn in grade school. It's much better at night. People complain that they can't score in Korea, but I think it has more to do with themselves than anything else. A lot of the foreigners who hang out at the bars in Itaewon are fat, ugly and old. No girl is going to want to go home with you. If you're a decent-looking guy in pretty good shape, I don't think you'll run into too many problems. It seems to me that a lot of the girls over there are desperate to go out with a foreign guy...unless you're what I described above. My observations.
I heard about Miari, but didn't get a chance to go. A friend told me that they don't accept foreigners. I didn't really get the chance in the end because my schedule was pretty tight.
Also, there are a lot of Japanese tourists in Korea who come to take advantage of the dirt cheap prices (at least compared to Japan). Japanese girls absolutely love foreign guys! You can usually tell them apart because they smoke in public (Korean girls never, ever smoke in public), they are usually smaller (i.e. shorter, more petite), they have a lighter tone of skin, have larger and rounder eyes, they'll glare at you as if they want you to ram them, and they dress like skanks. My friend and I approached two of them on the subway and went out with them afterwards. Japanese girls are fun and kinky and a lot easier to pick up than Koreans. A lot of them hang out close to the city hall (where that giant screen is where people watched the World Cup) by the department store in the area...I forget its name. If you look presentable and approach them in a polite fashion, I doubt they'd say "no".
I liked Korea in general. I agree with the guy who said it is not a first world country. They really are technologically advanced -- in some cases way more so than us here in the States -- but they are backwards in other things. I also find it difficult to sleep on the floor! Also, it seems like Koreans don't like foreigners too much. I was sort of prepared for this, but I didn't expect to see downright hostility from some. I tried passing as a Greek, a Canadian and an American and it didn't really make much difference. Korean girls love Aussie guys though. It definitely took some getting used to. I think as a group, Koreans are pricks, but as individuals, they're awesome and extremely hospitable.
And are any of you guys surprised at how tall some of the people are there?
Overall, Korea is a great country with a nice mix of technology, culture, history, beautiful women (I think Korean girls are the best looking of all Asian girls), great food and shopping. I wish the sex scene was not as much of a rip off. I'm looking to return within the year...maybe even get a job there for a few years.

Great to see this board back. Lots of catching up to do.

Stud_lee makes some good points about Itaewon.
I think the best thing about Itaewon is the party atmosphere which overflows out of the bars and into the street and goes on most of the night. I have had some great nights there. I usually time it to arrive around 10pm and party till the subway starts running again at 5:40am. It is certainly the best place to score with non pro Korean girls. I managed to pick up a georgrous one last weekend. Turns out she works at a Room Salon but likes the looks of foreign guys over Korean and comes to Itaewon to meet them. In my first couple months here I spent some money in the "Juicy bars" but quickly realized that you can spend a fortune on drinks very quickly without getting much. The girls all charge a fortune for sex. Most quote 80,000 for a HJ , 120,000 for a BJ and up tp 300,000 or more for sex. Yes, you can negotiate for sex and get it cheaper if you try but their heart is not in it when they are doing it cheaper and it is usually rushed. My recommendation is to go to Itaewon to party and possibly pick up girls in some of the great bars like Seoul Pub etc.
For sex I recomend Miari. Stud_lee says he heard they do not accept foreigners. This is not correct. It is the one RLD that for the most part DOES accept foreigners, Not all but most do. The regular quoted price is 60,000 Won. A price you would have to work hard to get in Itaewon and then likely get a rushed 15 minutes. In Miari, 60 is the going price so you're not rushed by a girl who feels she's giving it away cheap. There are many gorgeous girls for the asking at Miari. I think for the money Miari is the best place in Seoul for sex. If you have triple the price for a Turkey Bath go for it as it is bettrer but for 60,000W you can't beat Miari!

Where is Miari? I would like to visit where on my next trip to Seoul. Also, is there any good foreign friendly barber shop in Seoul, with good service with good looking girls. Please e-mail me at jimhart69@hotmial.com.

To get to Miari:
Take Subway Line 4 (light blue line) to Gireum Station.
Use exit 10
You will be at one of several entances to Miari.
Go through the green curtains covering the entrance.
There is a maze of several little alleys with hundreds of girls.
Don't worry if the ones closest to the entrance ignore you.
Just keep going and you will find many that will take a foreigner.
Usually when the Mamasan sees you coming you'll see her knock on the glass to warn the girls you are coming. They will be waving and calling you as you walk by.
Have fun!
Does anyone in Seoul no where I can buy "foriegner sized"
condoms here.
Last time in Miari (about 3 weeks ago) I picked out a gorgeous tiny girl who after giving me a BBBJ was about to climb on top of me bareback. She seemed quite surprised when I insisted on wearing a condom. She opened one and had trouble getting the small condom on me. We had a great 45 minute session changing positions 3 or 4 times. When finished I pulled out to find the condom had broke sometime in our last ten minutes.
Anyone knows where I can find large condoms?

Are you fucking kidding me? Is this true? That's pretty frightening if it is. If so, then I'm sure the AIDS rate in Korea is probably a lot higher than people there are willing to admit. Just look what's going on in China.
As for my comments on Miari, a few friends told me about it. Mind you, they were Korean, so it could be that they had alterior motives. One of them said flat out that they don't accept foreigners. Maybe he just doesn't know or it could be that he doesn't want me to bone Korean chicks. The other guy -- he does not live in Korea anymore -- said that Miari was cleaned up the last five years and that there wasn't much action anymore. Based on Seoulmate's reports, Miari seems to be alive and well. I will most definitely check it out the next time I am over there. I completely regret not checking it out myself.

Barber Shop: Guarantee FS for KW 90,000. There is a hotel named Hotel Pop Green in Apkujung. It is located diagonially from Hyundai Department store in Apkujung. As you face the front entrance of the hotel, on the right side of the block, there is a Daewoo auto dealership. On that side of the street, if you look further down on the street, there is only one barber pole. You are guaranteed full service after a little massage behind a closed automatic door that thay have installed in the back, to hide the illegality of the service, obviously. Ask for Miss Hyun. She is bit old, I think in her late 30's but damn good sucker and rider. Enjoy guys.

Actually, amateur, you bring up a good point. Apkujong is a great place to spot young hotties. I went over there a few times for dinner and drinks and every chick I saw there was gorgeous. Just curious, is it easy to pick up a girl over there? What about if you're a foreigner? It would be awesome if that was the case because it's an absolute goldmine!

Just to clarify this:
Of the half dozen times I have been to Miari this was the first time a girl wanted to do it bareback.

I have several Koreans whom I think of as pretty good
friends - a couple very good friends. However none of them
have ever seemed the least bit interested in setting me up with
a Korean girl - pro or not. I would disregard any info you receive
from a Korean man and check it out for yourself of find another person who might have the information. I have heard too many times from people on this and other boards who hear from Koreans that Miari is either closing or they don't take foreigners.
Miari is definately alive and well and the "best BANG for your buck" in Seoul". Korean men , in general, are not interested in helping foreigners have sex with Korean women. Of course, there are exceptions but I would double check any info you receive.

amateur, yes been by that barbershop and does not look so bad. ;) Would still like to meet the girl again from the noraebang karaoke bar around the corner and get her number! Please tell me you got a name!!
I would echo comments about Miari but I would recommend find a place you like and keep it your secret. All of the store fronts have numbers and the last thing we need is a bunch of us foreigners around to give the place a bad reputation. Not that I care what the Korean men think, just don't scare the girls away.
Was there this past weekend and it was 80% foreigners walking around and by 11pm, most girls had either gone home or shut down. Windows were closed everywhere and you could even see the Koreans leave after 1 walk through after seeing so many Indian, Thai and American men walking around.

seoulmate:
I feel your pain man. I have bunch of Koren friends, but none of them wants to hook me up with Korean girls. I'm chinese. But then again, what kind of guy with the right mind would be so unselfish to introduce a hottie to a friend when he himself can attempt to hook up with her. Unless of course that person already has a girlfriend. I recommend befriending korean girls for only friendship. Maybe they can introduce you to her friends who you migth be more inclined romantically.
