This is where we differ. Germany is not saving the rest of Europe. The current policies of fiscal rectitude as espoused by the German Chancellor and French President are definitely NOT working. This is why President Sarcozy is about to be thrown from office in France. This why the Dutch government has collapsed. 25% of the Spanish workforce are unemployed. 50% of the Spanish workforce under 25 years of age are unemployed. The economies of Spain and Italy are on the brink and policies of simple financial rectitude across Europe are definitely NOT working. The current German Chancellor is like a bus driver (and the rest of Europe are her passengers) who is driving the bus off the edge of a cliff.
CD
Nice discussion Captain Dan. Germany may not be saving Europe but clearly helping it stay in one piece. Don't most people agree that without Germany followed by France, Euro would disappear in a flash and so will the EU?! It might still come to that but for now most people west of the Atlantic believe that to be a fact.
