Did they actually ask for a full payment, or just your credit card number?
Their FAQ said they charge full payment to confirm the reservation. I found that I could still make a reservation using other travel sites, so I went that way instead. Thanks for all who replied.
I was reading up on the Nana Hotel that's directly across from the Nana Plaza, and on tripadvisor's site, there were at least three to four instances of them denying rooms to people who were not white. Is this true? Does anyone else have experience with or knowledge of this? I was born and raised in the USA and I'm of Indian decent (parents moved here in the 70's). So if I make a reservation there, am I going to be denied a room?
And is Nana Hotel a place worth staying at? Or are there better options that are almost as close by? Any help would be appreciated.
Any recommendation for an upscale, serviced apartment in the Silom area that's GF? If I can't find anything, I'll probably pick from Lebua, Shangrila and Mandarin Oriental. I've read that Lebua and Shangrila are GF and Mandarin Oriental is not. Is this still true?
Thanks,
Tiny
I stayed at Lebua last November. They were girl friendly.
For those interested the brand new Four Points by Sheraton at Suk Soi 15 seems to be a nice option, conveniently located near the action at a lower cost than the Westin or Sheraton.
I asked them about their guest friendly policy and the reply is below. Further, I went to see the hotel and it is very nice.
Hi Mr. Mahal,
There will be no charge, but a lady have to register at the front desk for overnight stay.
For further assistance, please let me know.
IMHO Nana hotel is the equivalent of a short-time place where you bring a girl you don't want in your hotel room, but as far as staying there let's say it is really low-end. I have stayed there a couple times when I was traveling with colleagues and did not want to be seen with a lady at my hotel, but checked out after a few hours. Depends what you are looking for really, but there should be lots of better options. As far as being racist it is surprising because it seems to me there are so many people of different races and nationalities there all the time!

Plenty of hotels in the area and for all budgets. Go to Asia Travel or Asia Rooms or Agoda etc. To see the choices. PM me if you have any questions.
Could you please suggest some good Hotels in Sukhumvit area, Bangkok? Last year I stayed in Rajah Hotel in front of Nana Plaza, then at another hotel I don't remember the name in soi 11 I think.

Was it in front on Nana Plaza? It would have been the Nana Hotel then. Rajah is on the same side about 100 meters further on.
I stay at the Dawin (B1800).
If your budget is in the Nana / Rajah range then I'd go to the Ibis. Small rooms but at least its relatively new and clean (no pool though).

I have recommended before on this forum and recommendation was, happily, taken up.
I didn't really have a lot of time to explore the hotel. Truth be told all I saw was the lobby, lift and my spacious deluxe suit. The suit was very nice with a nice big bathroom. It looked like it had recently been refurbished. The location was great and I slept very well. Good value for money. Only negative the Internet and Joiner Fees.

Thanks for your help.
Stay safe and play safe.

Anyone stayed at this place? Inputs will be greatly appreciated.
I'm going to try it for my first time next month, hopefully! I say hopefully because their website / contact is slow as a tortoise! But reviews on tripadvisor are so positive. Got a rate of 1700 thb but as I said nothing's confirmed, been waiting for a reply for 5 days already.

Hi I go to BKK, but had a few issues with current place I'm staying. I'm hoping to get last minute leads on somewhere I can stay near Siam Sq for ideally under 8k a week or 20k-25k a month starting today / tomorrow. I am only here for short term (1 month max) so hope to find something. This would really help me out right now so appreciate anyone reading this in the area who might have some suggestions!
