A once good airline getting real greedy.
Beware of Spirit! They are doing their best not to repair or replace my damaged bag. Their latest demand is: for me to provide a copy of my bag purchase slip=yeah right! I will make every effort not to fly Spirit again!
I remember when they first came up with the baggage charge. Their reason was to keep costs down. Yeah right. All they have done is keep upping the ticket prices, and on the last 6 flights I took it was a full plane. When oil was around $116 a barrel they upped the fare. Now it is around $95 a barrel, but the fares did not go down.
Aires was their rival in a lot of latin America citys, but I think they have gotten rid of a lot of routes so Spirit took advantage of the gap.
BTW I don't know who is worse, the airlines or the taxes the countrys are now increasing all the time. You have to pay over $30 to leave Peru, and to get into the DR ,and Nicaragua it cost you $10. This is above all the taxes you pay when you buy the ticket.
I guess they never heard of killing the goose who lays the golden egg.
