End of an era. Wasn't that already many years ago, when he left Jakarta? Well, since we are on that subject, who is (are) managing Dee's? Last thing I know there was at least a trio: a tall English guy, an Indonesian guy and a Colombian (guy.
Bless him, John was a nice fellow but he really wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. He was caught by the cops after they nailed a couple of drug dealers, his name address and phone number were stored in their phones, when they raided they didn't take long to find his stash, did a couple of years as I recall.
After that the ownership of Dee's transferred to a consortium, I was offered a share myself but I turned it down. That was the time of the back room turning into the private dance / knocking shop room, which was a lot of fun. Then Falatehan went into its terminal decline, around the time the hotels started opening. I think the gentrification was directly related to the decline in the fun ratio.
The bar is now owned by Annie, many might remember her, she managed the bar for a few years and her gorgeous, long-legged but rather aloof (at least to me) daughter worked as a waitress. It's a shadow of its former self, I have no idea how it keeps going.
True story, I went in one night after work many years ago to get a drink and maybe a dance / BJ in the back room. To my surprise the room was wide open and all the lights were on. I asked the bouncer why this was so, "Police razzia" he replied. Shocked, I asked when it was, he glanced at his watch and said, "Oh, we expect it in an hour or so".

I think it's common in Jakarta to buy months of of the time.
Didn't Annie perform traditional dances? If so, being the dick I am, I tried to date her. Alas, she did not show up!
I haven't met any other asian women as voluptuous in mass than indonesian women. They definitely take the crown for me. And to top it off, alot of them are willing to bed you quickly, paid or unpaid. It's a wonderland.
Indeed! I share your conclusion, with the only possible exceptions being Malays and Northern Chinese girls with their big white udders. Indos are definitely easiest access of the three!
