They can be inexpensive, and their planes are fine, but their idea of "customer service" is to shove a propeller up your ass.
Funny. This could apply to Avianca. Their customer service/airport process sucks too.
Wow, so I am now back in the States and I am forcing myself to make this report before I forget everything on my trip!
I nearly didn't write this report because of all the negative comments from my previous reports. I decided to write it for the silent readers out there that I know that can benefit. This post is geared to them. Feel free to PM me with any questions or details. Or if you think I should know something that could benefit me on a future trip. It's busy back here in the real world, I'll post pictures in the next day or two.

Keep them coming.
I am not a casa/MP person as it is all about the hunt for me, but I have a couple people who have inquired about casas MP's in Cartagena. Could someone please post an up to date list with directions and hours of operation. I do not have a clue to where they might be. I am sure it will benefit many of the guys on the board. I know some are listed on the Cartagena list thread, but who knows if the places listed are still open, or if they have moved to another location. I also have to believe that there are quite a few more than the list contains. I hate to have guys spending taxi fare to a casa/MP only to find it out of business.
Thank you.
I'm a big fan, can you repost links to your movies? You really do a good job and I like how you don't hold back on the gorey details. Keep up on the good work.
Thx.
This is my first trip to CTG. Based on what I've read here, it is not the same as TJ. I hope to check out a couple of casas in the Centro area. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. I'm staying in Boca Grande.
I am also going down on Spirit Airlines. Although I booked my ticket back in March, I had to pay $10 for a seat to return due to their new rules.
Thanks for the heads up on getting to the airport (FLL) about 4 or 5 hours ahead of the flight. The best way to deal with these people is to do everything online. I hate dealing with these agents. They have a tough job, so they are not always friendly or helpful. I heard some of the airlines are going to start charging $2 for coffee or soda. I can't wait 'till you have to pay in advance to use the toilet on the plane. I never forgot the first time I had to pay 25 cents to use the john at the McD's at the TJ border crossing.
Anyway, I hope to have a favorable report when I return. Assuming Sprint is still in business and I can return.
Happy & Safe Tails!

David
You got that right. Avianca has been my carrier of last choice for several years now. That propeller was not very comfortable. They forced me to buy a second ticket because they fucked up my reservation. They still owe me for that second ticket. They put you on hold when you call them. And they refuse to answer my hand-delivered letters. There is much, much more.
Fuck Avianca!
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have no connection to the airline. I just wanted to let everyone know you can check in Spirit Airlines' Online.
Check-in allows you to check-in up to 24 hours before your flight departs. All you need is an internet connection and a printer!
Saves you from the wait in line.
Unfortunately, due to passport requirements one cannot check in on-line for international flights. I tried.

I went down to enjoy the beach, and especially the vendors. I decided this was a great time to play that I was "Crazy Ivan. "
I asked for Tony, but they said wouldn't be there until later.
In the meantime, I called every vendor Tony. Even the women. And I introduced myself as Tony, too.
One old lady asked to give me a pedicure for 20,000 pesos. We struck a bargain once she finally agreed to my price of 4000. That is a just over a dollar a foot.
She wanted to massage and blow me for 50, 000, then 30, 000, then 10, 000. I just laughed and told her maybe if it was 30-40 years ago. But if she had a pretty granddaughter we could talk.
When the vendors would come by to try and sell me some shit like a necklace made out of rocks or a picture of Jesus, I would politely tell them no gracias.
Then I would point to an imaginary man a half mile away and swear to him "Hey Tony, see gringo over there? He told me he was looking for a picture of Jesus just like the one you've got. You better run there fast before someone else gets to him first! "
Every once in a while when a vendor passed by I would scream out in pain. I would point to the spot where I claimed that the old lady had clipped my little piggy, and ask them if they thought I would ever be able to walk again. "How many of her customers has she crippled so far this year, Tony? "
One guy offered to sell me a carton of cigarettes for 40, 000. I told him that when he gave me THREE cartons for 40, 000 we would have a deal.
Two hours later, and after he had made four trips back to try to dicker with me, he finally met my price. We both noticed how several other vendors were laughing when they saw he had finally caved.
The men begged for an extra 1000 peso note that fell out of my pocket, so I let him have it to save some face with the others.
I immediately gave Tony and the old pedicure lady each one of the packs as a tip. I told them to give a cigarette to everyone who walked by so that no one would have to bother me trying to mooch one off me.
By now Tony had been working his phone in search of my perfect chica. "Yeah, right Tony, I bet she's fat and ugly. You're saving all of the good ones for yourself and the Italians, aren't you? "
The first two weren't exactly ugly, but they were not up to standard. I turned them away and gave Tony some more shit about how he was holding out on me.
The old lady was finishing the manicure she had begun doing on me without even asking. At $1 a limb, I decided to let her. She worked on me for well over an hour, and was a good sport about everything, so I gave her a nice tip.
I told Tony that I was getting too much sun and was heading back to my room. I said that he better not even bother me again unless he had either Miss Colombia or Shakira on the line.
Honestly, I had a blast with these folks. They are good people, just trying to make an honest living. There was nothing at all to fear.
So relax, enjoy, and have yourself some laughs.
You'll be the highlight of their day!

Their operation in Medellin or Centro Administritivo in Bogota?

Thank you.
The casas open, change names, and close with regularity. I know of none in the tourist zone. Your best bet would be to find a taxista who knows the ropes. If you cannot speak Spanish, you are probably fucked.
Remember that things outside of the tourist zone are not as safe. I lived in Laguito for 4 years and have been warned by friends that things are getting more dangerous outside of the tourist zone.

Thx.
Hi Tom Power.
Thanks for your good words.
I like to know that some guys like my reports.
If you want to see my movies, there are still where I posted them.
So, use the search engine with my nick name and you'll find them all.
Cheers
Where you taking your letters?
Their operation in Medellin or Centro Administritivo in Bogota?
One of the letters was delivered by an amiga of my novia who works for Avianca. The other letter I personally delivered to the Avianca office in Unicentro Mall.
I'm currently in Cartagena and will submit a detailed report when and if I return.
According to a contact I found, the government does not want casas in the tourist areas. That's probably why they keep dissappearing. Your best bet is to ask a taxi briver. I visited two since so far. They were in regular residential houses, no names just a house tourists would not want to visit and have no clue. But that is the business we have chosen. We have to go where the putas are housed. Remember taxi in and taxi out and you will be safe. I went with my contact/translator.
If you come, have a wing man and do not let the taxi wait for you. You will have to pay him to wait. One good thing is you get the chica for one hour. And I mean a full hour. TJ could learn from this place. More later.
Happy trails and tails guys...play safe.
Two members from the board and myself are bouncing around this week between Cartagena and Barranquilla. If anyone wants to meet up with us for a drink later on in the week send me a p.m. To those that know where I am staying (Marinare) feel free to just drop by anytime. If I am not there leave a message with the security staff. My telephone number is the same as it always has been so you can also give me a call. Next week we will be in Cali for those that are interested.

I too will be traveling in the same region about the same time as you. Arriving in Cartagena on the 27th and heading off to Cali on either the 30th or the 1st.
I would enjoy meeting "Mr. Urban" up close and in person! Perhaps, we can share an ale or two?
I'm renting a flat in the Playa Mar building, I believe it is very close to Marinare. What unit shall I ask for if I stop by?
If I don't reach you Cartagena, where are you staying in Cali and what is your contact info?
