San Ysidro Crossing between 10 pm - 6 am. Is it Safe for TJ Travelers?
Tjfun is right, we should leave the paranoia talk to the crimes and safety thread. The last thing I will add though is that there was a note left with the bodies of the 4 teens. The note talked about how the kids owed the killers drug money and also something about "let it be a warning to others who try to rip them off." I saw this on the nightly news a few days after the attack happened.
Yes, we can move on but how does the incident reflect on CBP current action at SY.
Has any one experienced tough question from a US border agent since the incident or told it is unsafe to be in Tijuana (10 pm - 6am) and requesting great personal detail and questioning the purpose of the trip?
So many US border agents around for few travelers in the late hour. Is it safe for TJ travelers?
CBP -- Friendly Approach @ 6:20 pm Saturday "Anything to declare?"
I came back from T.J around 4 AM on Friday the 16th. There was no line coming back, in fact it was the fastest crossing I can remember. The border agent just swiped my passport with out asking a single question. I love these scary days. No line crossing back, lower prices, better service. I went thru in just a few minutes. Got to the line at 6:50 PM and was on the 7:04 PM Rte 929 bus.
Tequila ! ..CBP waved and smiled.
