Hioctane,
You were correct.
This was a gut punch. Normally I am ready for the worst, when decisions are completely out of my control, but I was not prepared for this.
My Colombian girlfriend is 29 years old. 2 kids. 12 and 11 years old, lives in the same house her entire life with her parents and her kids.
Same job for 4 years as a secretary for lawyer. Letter of recommendation from lawyer with job details.
Letter from me stating that I would be with her and financing her trip...
Sorry to hear that Jeff. From what I understand, she needs at least $10,000 USD in the bank. They also want to see that she has a good job and will be able to support herself while she is in the US (promising to support her won't cut it).

Sorry to hear about your girls visa. Same story if you plan to get a UK visa for a Colombian. Wired part, UK is part of the EU, Colombians can travel anywhere within the EU without a visa, only for the UK they require one.

Thanks in advance.
Hey VJ,
Supposedly in March things will change dramatically. Similar experience, no reason given. Drop me a Pm.

I will look at this again just before and during my January 2015 trip. I was told that writing a letter to the US Embassy might help. I will talk with an immigration lawyer back in the US. Her mother has a second house, albeit in a shitty area of Medellin, that she can officially sign over to her. I could put $5-$10 million pesos in her bank account also. We shall what happens, if and when, I cross that bridge.
Her mother bets me that she will get rejected on her future attempts. Typical attitude of a poor Colombian woman who has watched lots of poor get rejected in favor of the rich.
Applicants are allowed 3 attempts for a US Tourism Visa. I was told in Medellin the acceptance rate was 85% but found out in Bogota the actual acceptance rate is 60%.
If anyone has any suggestions please post them here or send me a pm.
Thanks in advance.
Why are you putting yourself through all of this trouble? Our Southern border is wide open. Have her go to Honduras, Guatemala, or Mexico and hoof it into Arizona or California on foot. She may get gangbanged by the Coyotes bringing her over from time to time, but once she's here she doesn't have to worry about being sent back (apparently)!
Only suckers play by the rules (lol).

For example, I as a US national am limited to 90 days out of 180 days in the Schengen countries, but I can then spend an additional 90 days in the UK, so it's advantageous from that point of view.
Well, not really, since you'd have to pay me a lot of money to ever go to the UK again.

This website confirms Colombians don't require a visa within the EU, just for the UK they do! Great as I am from the UK!
Casually marry her. My friend does it all the time in Central America. He's down there now w / his new 4 day old bride and plans to bring her back to the USA.
It sounds like you have a good thing going on w / your chica. If she is trustworthy and accepts any conditions you might have then marry her.
I hope things work out for you.
For me, I'm very happily married and I have a couple months of freedom per year.
Good Luck.

This website confirms Colombians don't require a visa within the EU, just for the UK they do! Great as I am from the UK!
The law passed but has it been put into effect? Today I looked at 4 sites and all say visas required for germany and spain and other eu countries by colombianas. I was in Colombia in 2012 when the news stated no more visas for colombianas visiting mexico, but I think it took about 6 months for the law to come into effect. I wanted to take my Colombiana novia to Mexico but had to wait several months before Copa would sell us tickets from MDE to Cancun without having a visa.
I need help revising my apartment rental website and need assistance from experienced website design professional.
Please send me a private message to discuss.
Dogman2.
Hello everyone,
Can someone suggest any good websites for meeting Colombianas before my visit?
I have used latinamericancupid. Com in the past but not very impressed by it.
Thanks in advance.
