Great shots indeed (as usual)!
From my last trip.
Great Jugs. What's with the scar?
Great information.
I have a box full of old Zuiko lens (from the OM era) in excellent condition. Where can I buy an E-520, etc, for $300? I could use a smaller, lighter set-up for traveling.
I got mine on ebay. As for the manual split-image+ground glass focusing screen, there are companies in China that make them for most DSLRs and sell them on ebay for prices like $20-25 US. Doing the replacement is a bit tricky but not too bad with the instructions and tools that are provided. The OM (and other brands) to 4/3 mount adapters also sell on ebay for prices in the $15-25 US range, and now there are also ones for $40-50 that also have a focus confirmation chip built in. Although I've never tried those, and can't say how well they work.
You'll find that the cheap 50mm lenses of just about every brand make great, fast portrait lenses on these Olympus digital bodies (with their effective 2X focal length factor) , but that same factor tends to diminish the value of older wide angle lenses, while making older telephotos into very powerful and compact, fast, useful items.
Another possibility for you, since you are already in the Canon EOS DSLR family, is to pick up a second cheaper Canon body - or maybe you already have an older one lying around, and do the same sort of conversion - although unlike Olympus, with the Canons, you don't get the image stabilization built into the body - and with Canon bodies, the lens focal length conversion factor is 1.5X rather than 2X with the Olympus digital bodies. In other ways, it's conceptually the same thing.
Great Jugs. What's with the scar?
When Thai children are young they get an immunization. If they scratch the spot and then touch themselves somewhere else it will leave a scar similar to the immunization site. These scars are quite common.
Is Bangkok a good place to buy second-hand lenses and bodies? Quality and price-wise? If so, where would one go? I need to buy a full-frame and was thinking to get a second-hand Mark II.
I buy most of my camera stuff from here:
http://www.fotofile.net/index.php?lang=en
They have shops in MBK and always have second-hand cameras. The prices vary. I bought my Canon 7D from them for a few hundred dollars less than it was in the US, same for my wide angle. For point and shoots, you are better buying from the US, though.
From my last trip.
Nicely done! All those girls are cute and very doable. Unlike some of the beastly creatures that get posted on this sight using the highest end lens and equipment. I bet all you had to use was a point and shoot too.
Immunisation? Interesting. Care to elaborate?
This is from the CDC website. It will answer all of your questions.

You cannot explain all the similar skin lesions in Asian by live vaccine inoculation. Many Singapore girls have keloids on their arms and elsewhere.

FK (MD)
I would recommend you talk to as many people in Thailand as possible to ascertain what type of scar this is. I have been to Thailand many times and have talked to many people about said scars. To a person they have told me they scratched their immunization site and transferred the reaction to another part of their body. But hey I am sure there are exceptions out there. I was making a general observation. This will be all I have to comment on this subject.
Here are a few pictures, of many; I took of a DIA (Dating In Asia) girl that I finally met. We had met on DIA last September but the two times I was in country my work or her work prevented a meeting.
If what is to believed she had only one BF before (Thai) and never been out with a farang. Though from talks I knew she was a bit of a free spirit.
Her and three of her friends where coming down to Jomtien and I was in Pattaya. She indicated she wanted to meet for 30 minutes so I said come on over. Shows up with friend, not unexpected, but the friend left shortly there after.
Twenty minutes into the 'get to know you in person discussion' I had told her I had bought her some lingerie. I had discussed this with her before hand via text and email. So I open up the closet and show her same. Not expecting anything to happen. Another 10 minutes goes by (there goes the 30 minute I only am there) and she says 'I go toilet'. I hear the door close and kind of look over in that direction and I notice the lingerie gone.
Out she comes from the bathroom holding the garter belt and says 'I not know how'. Of course I had to show her but with her being so short it would not work.
Sorry, don't have any actual digital pics right now.
But sometimes I like to look at all the saved pics on my disk. And I found some screenshots. Taken during a MSN chat with one of my Isaan friends here.
In her early 30's, I was her first man, has a good job as a school secretary.
Very innocent a couple of month ago. Now she can act infront of her cam, she likes to suck me off, tries to take it deepthrought and lets me CIM.
