Hi Kaki,
In that case, perhaps i could re-schedule my journey to up north to be quite close to your date. We could create this golden opportunity to meet up with our 'sifu' bro tV ( my man) and drowning over beers and expand our meat haunting day together.
Perhaps, I could stop in front of Hatyai Variety Travel Agent shop as a land mark to meet up you guys. There where I will usually get down from my night bus from Johor Bahru. Looking forward to haunt together.
Do you know this place anyway?.
Thanks
Papercut my man,
You do not need to go to Bern Thai for this. Look at the map from www.phukhao.com/download/download.html. There are many stalls selling these stuffs along Niphat Uthit 3 and Sanehanusorn Road (Near Pink Lady). So perhaps you can first go for the shopping, then go to Lea Garden to tackle some salesgirl for your evening adventure, finally end up at Pink Lady for a releasing (opps sorry should be relaxing) soapy bath, :D.
Kick ass and be cool,

Bro ***********,
Great to see that your participation has liven up this thread by leaps and bounds bro.
Just came back from New Years Eve celebration in HDY..the town was not as packed as the previous Raya holidays but still quite lively with the closed road celebration around Lee Garden.
Latest nightspots is the re-opened disco, Metropolis at JB hotel but the place has mostly Thai customer. They play mostly " Shake head " music..Bang Bang Bang kind but the volume is lower than Paragon. No such luck of picking up any girls unless you have balls of steel !!!....hehehe
Anyway, i did noticed many " Farang " in HDY during this trip. Maybe these are the first waves of the Farang invasion into HDY.....Even saw 2 of them getting into SC asking mamasan for a girl.
Sawadee tV,
I think, obviuosly had opportunity to came across on Log Terrace name, somewhere leading to northern direction of Hatyai town, which being clearly published in most of the handy map that can be easily found at reception counters in most of the hotels (I assume this through my experience, picking up on this user guide materials and pls corrected me if this not a practice). I think its was a fantastic efforts being carried out by the local tourism authority in the event of promoting at geographical aspects of Hatyai locations & important venues for easy reference for it travelers...
The Hatyai Map is done by a commercial company and yes it is a great effort by them, so far the most up-to-date map available.
What type of food that Log Terrace are offering for public?. seafoods and fushion of thai and westerns?. Would it be expansive on dinner for two at Log Terrace for pleasant meal at this spot?. Are they serving on fresh oysters there or rather a common for all the seafood venues offering on this 'speciality'?.
How far the distance to Log Terrace, let says, my starting step from Novotel Hotel and what is the normal tuk tuk fares, ferrying to Log Terrace?. Does this place peak all the times?.
Log Terrace provides Authentic Thai food which is reasonably price and not expensive which is why Thais go there to eat. I'm not sure about fresh oysters as it is not a seafood venue (of course they do serve seafood dishes). But if you want, I can check out the fresh oysters for you.
I didn't really measured the distance but it takes an estimated 15 mins from Novotel to Log Terrace. I will use my vehicle to measure the distance and give you an idea tonight or tomorrow.
Tuk tuk should charge you at least 40 Baht.
Don't have to worry about seating space as I think it is the biggest eating place in Hatyai at the moment.
TV, what is your opinions of Florida Hotel?. On last visit, I had went for an inspection and found that the interiors designs of hotel lobby areas were rather glummy with old lighting fittings and not sure how was the room conditions. They have quoted me for 550bath with no ABF. Honestly, I think Florida Hotel has an interesting building structure from outside view. If I am not mistaken, it was a walking distance from channivet streets and almost nearer to Daichi Hotel.
550 Baht is a promotion rate. Their normal voucher rate is 630 baht. I think they are having promotions again. As for the rooms, some people like it, some don't. Matter of preference.
I kind of very reluctant to accept on room conditions in Hatyai Garden Home. The end results is not the same, whatever that they had described during my room booking from their online reservation booking. The room conditions are completely tired furnished with an obselete FF&E settings. At some occasions, I almost get suffered from the strong cigarrete smells & harden bed mattress inside the room. The room that they're assigned to me are conveniently facing to bushes..
Garden Home is an old hotel but they do have a "new wing". Price for old rooms are 400 baht and new rooms are 600 Baht. Again, matter of preference.
Basically you cannot expect to get the same standard of rooms such as Lee Garden, Sakura GV, Regency which are priced above 800 baht in hotels like Florida, Garden Homes, etc which are priced below 600 Baht. The reason is obvious. You get what you pay for. So it depends on what you want.
Anyway, Ne-O Botique Hotel is the newest Hotel at 600 Baht. Rooms are small but sufficient with Bathtub (although short) and well renovated. So far it is becoming one of the preferred hotels in Hatyai. The beds are a bit soft though.
Anyways, Tv, how was the public perceptions on Hatyai in terms of overall development and its economic?.
WOW!!!!! Are you sure you're asking me THESE questions???? Sorry I can't answer the public perception of Hatyai in terms of overall development and economics unless you want to me write out a business plan for you, with a specific industry in mind.
What was the actual municipal status for Hatyai?. It is town or city?.
Let me give you a better idea of what Hatyai is.
First - Songkhla is the province like Yala, Pattani, etc.
Next - In Songkhla, there are many Districts of which Hatyai is a District and Songkhla is also a District (the place where you go to the beach).
In a District, there are many Sub Districts of which Hatyai is also a Sub District.
In a Sub District, there are many villages and a Town or City.
Whether it is a town or city is a matter of interpretation. But as far as in Thailand terms, a City is one that is much more developed that a town. There is no yardstick of measurement. I hope that gives you an idea.
Does the internal riots hit in provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat has contribute on tourists decline flocking to Hatyai?. In your fair opinions, what will be a significant impact if issues to prolong?. What will be the best options that Government has to fixs the unrest more amicably
Are you sure you want my opinion and views?
Initially, the riots caused an already decreased tourism rate brought on by SARS and then the bird flu. Then brought on by Tsunami and other disasters. But the overall drop is actually caused by bad or wrong publicity especially in news periodicals in the home countries of Singapore and Malaysia. But tourism is picking up and the riots are becoming more of an accepted norm as it does not affects Hatyai directly since it is in Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani, bearing in mind even Betong is not affect although Betong is part of Yala.
The troubled areas are at least 2 hours away from Hatyai. Just like if you have riots in Malacca, the people in KL or JB will not be in panic or fears.
So even if the issue is prolong, which it will, it does not affect Hatyai or other provinces in the South.
I'm sorry, what I advocate will not be what the government of Thailand will do to solve the unrest as I don't advocate it to be solved amicably. As this is political and I am a foreginer here, I suggest that we leave politics out.
At fair glance, during my observations, some of the streets, navagating to main areas can be very nasty on traffic with left & right of streets pavement are being occupied by the street vendors trading on fresh vegetables, meats, basic glossaries & household, fresh fishes and etc. On other hand, the streets also gets cramped, contributions from comercial vehicles passing the same streets during the peak hours.
It would be interesting to know, What wiil you be doing at first attempt to change it if you are being elected as mayor for Hatyai...
Sorry, to answer this, I may have to write a thesis for a Master Degree or PHD. We can talk or discuss this over coffee but it will only be coffeeshop talks.
Anyway, Hatyai retains its charm because of this so-called chaotic conditions.
Out of curiousity. Why the meat prices range at both Piano & Porches Karaoke are more much higher if compared to other nearby KFC farms?. Are this due to different grade of meat being traded here..

Thank you for your compliments.
Yes, farangs are now "visible" in Hatyai. In fact, last night while I was at Hatyai Palace watching the sexy show, there were 2 farang couples and a single farang there too. And the single farang even tipped a couple fo the dancers which is a reare sight that the club gave him a free drink!! kekekeke
By the way, also saw 2 muslim couples generally late 40s type. Thew wives took off their headscarlves on entering but they didn't sit in front row like us.
Welcome to Hatyai!!

Bro TV, I give you 93 out of 100 for this exam, kekekeke. 7 marks cut because you did not answer those political questions competently, :D
Personally, I think that Hatyai is one heck of a chaotic town/city which makes it such a fun place to be in. If I want a place which has tremendous consistency and efficiency then I will go Tokyo or Singapore. That is why it worths the trip. Of course, the puyings are also the main attraction, :D
For hotel, personally, I prefer a nice safe place for my sexual adventure so I will look for hotel which either has in-room safe or safe at the reception. And yeah, a good bed for the rocking and rolling, "hee-yar". Therefore a difference of 200-300B should not be a factor in making up mind about where to stay for us mongerers.

Hi tv,
What is they normal operating hours?. Can we have some drinks while doing on puying's selection in this Karaoke (Piano & Porches?). It is the barfines are similar range to Kiss Karaoke (HDY Garden Home). You have described that 'they are upper market demad' Question- are they mostly came from Bangkok or elsewhere through your experiences or rather subjective to be answer?.
Any working rusky girls (Russian) or other part of east Europe country works in HDY. My friend just came back from Bangkok and had informed me that there is a lots of ' mouth - watering ruskies' working there. Am not sure whether they also expanding their wing to south areas like Phuket, HDY and Betong which is very popular venue amongst to our brothers.
Just wondering if this type of girls were also available too in HDY?.
thanks

OK, have check it last night.
Distance from Novotel to Log Terrace is 3.6km and sorry, there are no fresh oysters served there.
In measuring distacne, From Novotel, you have to take the Prachathipat Road (one way, pass 2 traffic lights, turn right at the 2nd traffic light which is Nipat Uthit 2 Road which is also one way. Keep left and turn left to hit OhetKesem Raod and follow the road over the flyover where you will pass the Polics Station. You will come to a traffic light, so turn right into Raj Uthit Rad towards the direction of Hansa which you will pass until you come to a traffic light. Turn left and you will hit a T junction where you turn right. Log Terrace is on the left at soi 15 which has a signboard.
Cheers
