I thought I was being clever flying to Hong Kong this time, as I would then get the flight with tiger airways to clark, but it seems tiger can't do it, does anyone know any other way to get to clark direct from Hong Kong/maccau, I travel mid April.

Hello AH,
Of course Tiger can do it! On that particular route, you can only make reservations two months in advance, or something to that effect.
Have a great trip!

You have saved me from that miserable trip to and from Manilla Airport
I noticed Cathay Pacific is flying direct to Davao from Hong Kong now. I will try it next time.
Cathay Pacific is using an upgraded cabin on their 747-400s, at least on Manila-Hong Kong and some Hong Kong-LAX. Economy class has video on demand, a little more leg room, redesigned seats.
Hey guys,
I'm headed back to AC on the 15th of Feb; will be in S.E. Asia until mid Apr. Anyone interested in linking up for a brew or two PM me.
Ciao!

For those of you who frequent the Hawaiian islands or for those who cannot tolerate transpacific flights from the US, Hawaiian Airlines will begin nonstop service from Honolulu to Manila starting April 14th, four days a week.
Aloha
I'm planning to visit CDO in a couple of weeks. Any good hotels in the city centre?
Thanks,
Jakan
I put in a post last year on hotels in Cagayan de Oro. Search below.
This month I stayed again at Mallberry Suites. Right next to the Lemketkai mall. Swanky place and not excessively expensive. You can get WiFI in the room. Bar downstairs. I think this is the newest place in town. Excellent security. Walk to lots of restaurants. Its reasonably girl friendly, just register your "wife" when you check in.
My favorite cheap place on the "beach" is still Coconut Bay Resort. Camiguin is a long trip from there, but the best beach in the area.
Anybody out in AC starting March 1? Will be in town for a few days... traveling solo so hanging out with some ISG'ers would be fun. I definitely can find my own fun, but sometimes it's good to check out bars with the boyz.

PM Me... I'm only there until the 4th.

I usually stay at Casa Christalia downtown ,about the most reasonable of any in the downtown area. Grand Hotel is another one with a restraunt if you need that. Lamarr inn is worn and buggy and the same goes for Ramon Hotel. Phil town is ok and also has a restraunt. Pyce Plaza is expensive but VERY nice but not in town. Never stayed at Dynasty court but it has recently been renovated.
I plan to spend 2 days in AC. I have reservation at Pacific Breeze for March 8 & 9 or 14 & 15. My travel buddy ended up in the hospital with knee surgery so I have to go it alone again.
Anyone in town either of these dates?
PS. Will be driving up from Manila in case anyone wants to hitch a ride.
Thanks,
Bob
I'm coming to Manila for the first time in a couple of years. I'm staying at the Shangri-la Edsa. Are there any good clubs or massage parlours within walking distance of the hotel? There are also a couple of malls close by, any one know if either is a good place to meet ladies?
Thanks
I have RTFF and there is a bit of information, but has anyone recently ridden the SuperFerry from Manila to places such as Cebu or vv? If one books a stateroom/ suite which is about A$100 for 24 hour trips, does the 'random ticket check' carried out enroute lead to embarrassment if you 'pick up' in the disco or at the bar? And what do fellow travellers think of the chances of the latter, notwithstanding that most Filipinas travelling could be expected to be be part of a group? Do the SuperFerry staff hassle you if they think you have booked the cabin alone and they observe another person entering it with you?

Did the trip in may 2006, left around 4 am at hotel to go to terminal.
nothing much took my fancy going to cebu had return ticket. you get a good look at the passengers in the terminal before u board. had state room very good small shower comfortable good everything. booked meals not so good food. local girls take food in down stairs bar area entertainment.
did chat ot bar maid in after noon she stops at 6 pm and told me she hangs in bar. Not interested so can't tell u about girl in room all i can say is that when u book a stateroom its priced for 2 people! meaning i could take someone else at no charge ok, thats my understanding.
On my return trip had chatting with group in terminal in cebu they wanted to party all the way back to manila but as ferry was delayed !! ( 12 hours) still not arrived !! main engine broke ! so it looked like we would catch anohter one and bookins for state room problem i gotr 90% of my return ticket refunded and caught a plane back the group where sad that i could not party, Meaning there drink money was flying hehehe
its an interesting trip 30% time cells out of range also every corridor has cell phones charging hehe so funny to see hundreds of cell phones being charge in one place hehe.
