Looking to buy a vacation/investment home in the Caribbean. Would this be the forum to ask advice for the DR as in which area would be the best, least expensive etc.?
If so my top priorities are diving, cost of property, airfare from the states (Florida), and of course quality of living as in safety and comfort although I don't expect American type comforts (fast food, Wal-mart etc.) nor do I want them.
Thanks in advance.
A
Actually rent is so cheap that you can take a couple years and investigate.Home values are going down because the earth quake line actually goes thru the DR.But here's a secret i dont usually share.Wait until Cuba opens up fully. That will be like a valcum going thru the Caribbean.Everyone will go to Cuba which initially will hurt the DR.Then you buy at your price.
Running into the son just goes to show how small the DR is. The more time you spend there the higher the likelihood shit like this will happen. I like my regulars to be from out of the area because it minimizes these types of disasters. But to be completely fair, she is playing you in this game too which is probably the biggest reason why she does not get super angry.
Not only is Sosua so small, but it's in a time warp. I just arrived back here for the first time in 2 years, and the place is exactly the same. The exact same hustlers on the corner, the exact same change guys, the exact same chicas at the massage parlors. I can't believe it. And this is, IMHO the biggest difference between Sosua and a place like Pattaya. People seem to cycle through Pattaya pretty quickly, and while the scene remains the same, the cast of characters changes. Not in Sosua. Heck, I just walked into the courtyard of the New Garden and who is sitting by the pool but the skinnier of the Santiago sisters. And on my first day here, I can't believe it but the first chica that I did was one whom I wanted to do 2 years ago, but for whatever reason, never got around to it - to cut to the chase, she's a hottie, but the performance was uninspired - but it was only 1200 pesos to discover this fact.. And the second one that I'm going to be doing tonight was my favorita from my last trip. Definitely feels like a time warp.
I have to laugh, but you are telling the truth. I still can not understand how guys can go back and forth to Sosua for years on end and never get tired of that place called So-Sewer.
A little thinking, a little desire for something different and better,,,,there is so, so, so much more to do in rep dom. As long as So-Sewer is there guys will return again, and again.
Its a fever, its an addiction, I cant help myself lmao.

Hi David 4470,
I sincerely appreciate your contributions to the forum, but...
[red]Would you please refrain from capitalizing the first letter of EVERY word in your reports![/red]
It's difficult to read, it's time consuming to fix, and it takes you more work to write like that.
On behalf of myself and your fellow Forum Members: Thank You![/blue]

Yea, you can go to a supermarket, But why if you can run in 7-11 and run out and still get what you want, but I agree just like a supermarket, DR has a lot more to offer than 7-11 (Sosua).

Sosua is more like the COSTCO for pussy shopping, it is certainly no mini-mart. If you want more gourmet cuisine you'll need to shop in non-tourist areas.
Second trip to DR my first post. I first went to DR for a short 4 day at BB which was great and safe. I will be arriving this time on March 1-8 but BB is full. So I will be staying at FOD from the 1-3 and not really sure after that but planning on heading to Sosua and flying solo so I can test out the difference between having chica's spoon fed vs. Hunting for them myself which should be interesting. I'm having a hard time getting a room in Sosoua as well due to last minute planning. New Garden is full and I'm waiting to hear back from Sea Breeze for the Sosua part of my trip. If anyone wants to hook up in Sosua March 3rd I make a good wingman but my spanish is not the best, I can still manage to talk to the chicas. BB was great last time I was there in dec 06. Since then I've been having lots of fun in south east asia.
...and which place is better?
Don't tell me now Santo Domingo!
For me, Santo Domingo is better. Santo Domingo probably has 100 times the population than Sosua, therefore many more chicas in Santo Domingo.
My Spanish is O.K., I meet more chicas online who live in and around Santo Domingo than any other part of the country.
Traffic during rush hour sucks in Santo Domingo, no beach in Santo Domingo. Plenty of working girls in Santo Domingo in the casas, on the streets, in the discos and casinos. Good variety.
I know a lot of guys who love going to Sosua, usually its a matter of convenience. Sosua is very easy.
It took me a little while to learn the ins and outs of Santo Domingo and it usually takes me day when I first get there to get into the groove of being in that city. I have met some great chicas who live in Santo Domingo.
I feel safe in Santo Domingo at all hours of the day and night. The National Police stopping cars at night can be a bit of a hassle in Santo Domingo, but either you chat with the police for a few minutes and they let you drive away or give them a few dollars and be on your way more quickly (or don't do too much driving late at night, especially in zona oriental).
There are some rich folks in Santo Domingo (baseball players and others) and you will see them in bars and casinos usually accompanied by their high end girlfriends, always nice to see some eye candy. Lots of non-pro chicas hang out in groups without guys in bars in Santo Domingo.
In Sosua you can have a bad night where you don't find a decent chica to sleep with, in Santo Domingo there is always a variety.
My wingman loves Sosua, for him Sosua is better, for a variety of reasons. Me being a single guy with no kids, I have time to chat up chicas online before I travel, for me Santo Domingo is better.
Sosua is more like the COSTCO for pussy shopping, it is certainly no mini-mart. If you want more gourmet cuisine you'll need to shop in non-tourist areas.
What I am saying is. Sosua is like a mini mart bc you can run in and run out. And everything is right there in walking distance. Other parts of d. R. Like santo domingo you may have to get a rent a car. Etc. So if you are pressed for time and money, sosua is your place to shop.
Sosua is more like the COSTCO for pussy shopping, it is certainly no mini-mart. If you want more gourmet cuisine you'll need to shop in non-tourist areas.
Except you can snack on free samples in Costco. Nothing's free in Sosua.
