When you buy a phone you, make sure it an unlocked GSM phone. Mexico uses the same frequencies as the US for the most part. And if you travel to other countries, you can pop out the Telcel SIM and pop in another carrier's SIM). And remember if an offer on ebay is too good to be true, it is so pass. If everyone sells a basic Nokia dumb phone for $20 and one person is selling it for $2, then don't buy it. You can always buy a cheap phone from Telcel instead of getting an unlocked phone but it will be only useful on Telcel.
Remember when you go to the Telcel office like at Plaza Rio (not an authorized reseller) to but the SIM (or as they're called by Telcel CHIP) you'll need to pay in pesos now and you'll also need to present your passport to register it. The movistar office won't even let me get one of their phones without a CURP (sort of the Mexican equivalent of a SSN). Once you have the SIM you can top it off practically anywhere in Mexico and at several outlets in the US (and online). I usually stop by the Oxxo across the street from Adelita / Hong Kong and buy 100 pesos worth (Oxxo does take dollars) when I'm running low. Some retailers will sell a card to top off the account (call the number on the back and enter the code) , some places will ask you for your phone number and will add your credits via computer in the store. You'll usually receive a text within seconds after the clerk types in the number. Telcel's site says you can top off your account from more than 100, 000 retailers in the US. I'm in Tijuana so often I haven't had to take advantage of that though.
If you buy more than 100 pesos at a time you get "regalo" (gift) pesos that you can use for calls inside Mexico for calls to Mexico). Also, for 100 peso or more recharges, the balance lasts 60 days. If you by less pesos they'll expire after 30 days and no gift time. If you don't recharge by then you lose the balance. If you don't top off the phone in six months, Telcel will take the number away and you'll have to go to their office and buy a new CHIP and start over. After a year of continuous use, you can get things like a frequent number list where you can keep your girlies on standby at much cheaper rates. Most of the gift pesos and other features are only for calls made to Mexican numbers while in Mexico. When you're roaming in the US or elsewhere you're paying premium rates.
The Telcel Amigo phones roam in the United States on AT&T's network so if you live where there's good AT&T service, you're in business. If you live in border towns like San Diego, Mexicali, Nogales, El Paso, etc the your roaming rates are lower than they are farther into the country. The roaming is significantly more and often times it is cheaper for you to use a US cellphone or landline for calling into Mexico. I use my Tijuana number almost always for SMS text messages. They are free to receive even when roaming in the US. I think the roaming rate to reply to texts is 30¢ or so (which is deducted from your regular account and not from your gift account).
In addition to text and voice, you can also have internet access on a daily / weekly / monthly basis for rates much cheaper than you'd pay while roaming on your US carrier in Mexico (15 pesos for 15MB, or $4 for 150MB over 24 hours versus $20 / mb on ATT roaming). What is nice is you can decide on the fly if you need to use the internet by using the Mi Telcel link on the ideas. Telcel portal while in Mexico or by sending an SMS message with what flavor of access you want.
The Telcel website has the exact details but it is all in Spanish (and even if you know the language some of the details are buried). Interestingly enough, if you but a card (ficha) to recharge your account when you call in, you can select English as a language to help you enter the code and consult your balance.
I don't get anything up near Chicago so I think you have to be within some range to Mexico. Also a couple posts I've seen make it seem as if it's cheaper in Mexico than in the US to text or use phone services. It is way more expensive for me. 100 pesos lasts me about 2 days, I couldn't seem to get on any kind of unlimited plan. If I had a GF like in the US text wise it would cost me around 300 pesos a day because these damn college girls now want to text 100 times a day with smiley faces and bullshit. The cost is one of the main reasons I think you will see some contact breaks, they may just be embarrased that they couldn't afford to charge their phone. The few guys I met that got deported wish they had cricket in Mexico. Ha ha

If your phone has a roaming setting you may need to adjust that for it to lock to the network in Chicago.
Most Mexicans have prepaid cellphone plans and the per text messaging cost aren't cheap. Because Mexico, like many other countries, has caller pays billing, the received messages are free, but it costs you money to send texts (0. 88 pesos (about 6 cents US) each within Mexico). Calls are about 4 pesos a minute. Since most customers are prepaid and the sender pays, the costs are much more. I think if you have a post-paid contract with a cell carrier in Mexico you can get buckets of texts like we have in the US that help the cost go way down (as low as 0. 08 pesos). But most Mexicans can't qualify for credit from the carriers and many of the postpaid plans are only available to foreigners with residency visas or Mexican citizens.
Given Telcel's 80%+ market share of the Mexican market, I don't see unlimited plans for prepaid like we have in the US any time soon.
Yup sorry, I noticed some wording I didn't see after I posted. I'm incredibly picky so average to me is probably the girls that approach me and I feel like I'm in school again and someone with coodies just walked up on me. I really wish they picked up on that vibe sooner as it irritates me. But some guys probably like that, I like to approach the girl when I find one I like. In bars like Playboy or some of the less crowded ones 2-3 a week is probably likely if not less. The massage parlors like Mermaids, New Body they seem to be the busiest. I would imagine any of the girls at New Body go in a room atleast 3 times each day. They usually have line ups about 3 times an hour and unlike me I think most people don't walk away from a line up. If a girl works in Adelitas or HK in the day not past 7 and not on weekends then I could see 2-3 a week also. It baffles me that Mexico is just as ghetto as any third world country in parts if not worse, plenty of people out of work, most people making next to nothing in a day, but yet they are the 2nd fattest country next to the US. I just don't get how half the girls get so damn fat. It's definetely hurting the supply and demand, if every girl was in shape there the sex would be cheaper.

Just to summarize, concerning my ideas of TLN pay, the chicas' alternative lines of work seem to pay in the $100 per 48 hour week, as near as I can tell. Now, I'm sure the vast majority of the chicas working in the zona make more than that. Otherwise, what's the point? The big question is, how much more? My spidey sense tells me the number is going to be somewhere in the $300 range. Some weeks more, some less. Despite the relatively low amount of money. 300% more than the next available job has got to look pretty attractive. Certainly the hotties in the busy places will get more. The HK girls on the night shift probably do quite well, although they have to put up with a ton more bullshit than at other places. Having strange guys ram their fingers up your ass, for $1, has got to be pretty demeaning. But that's beside the point. I just think that $150-ish, or 50%.100% of a week's pay, for a TLN, is very fair. That's the starting price. After one develops a relationship, and they figure out that you're a nice guy and not an axe murderer, the price ought to drop substantially. Like in the $50. $80 range.
The obesity problem has two parts. The first, of course, is diet. They eat very fatty foods, obviously. The second is genetic. Many of the Indian strains in the southern part of North America have short, round body types. Mix in a women's propensity to gain wait after they start having kids, and you have a sure-fire recipe for chubbiness. Or worse.

HK Adelitas Basics
What is the basics for Adelitas, HK:
1. Cross the border to McDonal's
2. How to get to the two bars?
3. Time of open, close?
4. How much?
5. Comparison with agencies, like hottijuana, cumintj?
-
Thanks for the detailed walkthrough SG.
What is not immediately clear to me is still:
If I get a telcel prepaid SIM, I can still roam in the US and receive txt messages right?
And it sounds like it won't cost me money to receive, though it will be hella expensive to send.
I just need a sure fire way for my chica to get in touch with me, should she choose.

Point 2 Madison, You said I acomplished in one day what you couldn't in the whole time you were there. I do understand most of the fellows on here think it is ridiculous to even want anything other than sex from these girls but everyone is different and to each his own.
As far as the jealousy thing Super Gato is right on its not jealousy its all about business and maintaining your customers. Getting back to the car salesman analogy. Remember as aggressive as car salseman are they have alot of rules they have to follow. When a customer hits the lot they can't all pounce on you they have to rotate. And if the customer is returning and they have already dealt with them that is there customer. Now imagine putting 50 car salesman in the same room and taking away the rules. Then add to the equation they have to sell themselves in order to make a sale. Can you imagine that kind of enviroment, thats what these ladies face everyday they hit the clubs. The time I spent with my ATF this weekend she was complaining about all the stress she faces everyday at work. I never really thought of the clubs as high stress situations for the ladies, but I guess they are.
I would like to get back to part 2 of my T / R but it has been a little tense around here, since I got back wifey keeps imagining there are hickies on my neck. To quote Dennis Rodman when he got caught with 2 ladies in his bed." What ladies" So I say "what Hickies"

I did cross the line already, and maybe I shouldn't have, but then, those girls do know that sex is on the guy's mind anyway don't there?
And given that I have already crossed the line, may as well just continue, no turning back.
Just playing devil's advocate here.
Regarding the hickie, yeah what hickie, actually my gf caught me once, and she was pissed off for a while.

TLN Pricing
I have done this several times in Mexicali and Tijuana. First you need to get to know the young lady with a few conversations and trips to the upstairs bedroom. Once this happens and they trust you, it is pretty easy to pull off. I either do it with one that works the afternoon shift and it begins when they get off of work or I do it with them on their night off. Waiting until 3 AM or later for the late shift gal to get off of work doesn't really work for me.
They usually spend 12 to 18 hours with me. We go to dinner, dancing, play cards and watch TV in the room. And a lot of chit chat. I speak Spanish very well so it is easy to chit chat.
I usually give them a gift of $200 "to help them with their expenses" and have never had a complaint and have never been turned down for another TLN after the $200.
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT I HAVE MADE MORE TIMES THAN I WANT TO ADMIT. DO NOT FALL FOR THEM. YOU WILL ONLY END UP WITH A BROKEN HEART IF YOU DO!

Telcel Phones
I have been using a Telcel phone in Mexicali and Tijuana for many years. I have never bought one in Tijuana, but have in Mexicali. The cheapest that I have found them in Mexicali is at the Oxxo stores. They sell them for between 500 and 1200 pesos depending on the bells and whistles (camera, music, etc) and it comes with 300 pesos of free prepaid credit. Once you purchase the phone you need to take it to a Telcel office (not an agency) and register it with your passport, etc. The Mexicans can register it over the phone, but non citizens need to do so at the Telcel office with passport identification. I don't use it in the United States as I have the Verizon Nationwide plus Mexico plan, which saves me about $200 per month as there are no long distance charges for calls from Mexico to US nor for calls from US to Mexico and there are no roaming charges when I am in Mexico. It has worked out very well for me over the years.

I truly believe a broken heart makes a man stronger.
Nah dude, I get what you mean, I truly fell for a girl while I was away in China, she works at a foot massage place and she was awesome at it.
She used to come to my room every night, and buy me snacks, never took money from me, and even when I was sick, she brought herbal drink, after her work ends at 3am.
I actually shed tears for her before but eventually, things were not meant to be.
Oh wait, I think in that story, both hearts got broken.
Maybe the fucked up part of me wants feel heart broken for this Tijuana chica.

Just the opinion of an old man so it is not necessarily fact.
All a broken heart did for me was make me callous, so for what I now desire from women, I guess it did make me stronger.
To me, working ladies are like renting cars. Why get the same one every time if you are paying for it? They certainly can, and do, get jealous. It is not only about the money, although without the money there would be no initial connection (I'm a fat, old, fart). I have been fortunate (cursed?) all my life in being able to connect with women. Yesterday I had a VGL Vietnamese lady at an AMP give me her cell number and ask me to call her. I am over twice (3 times?) her age. She said I was fun, even though it was only a R&T. My current favorita in Tijuana says I make her happy. When I leave the club, she makes mention of me sessioning in another club. I just smile, give her a kiss on the cheek, and tell her she will be my favorita no matter what happens.
Do not let this lady see you as stressing because she did not answer your text, call, whatever. Even if you are dying inside put on the happy face, laugh, and make her happy for the time you are with her. It will confuse her, you will become unique (not like all her other FWB's) , and make her want you even more. Women want strong men. Lady's of the night, especially, already have enough weak men in their lives, do not become another one. If she perceives you as weak you are history, and will be put in line with the others.
Women, no matter what their position in life, want a strong man that can take charge, but still be sensitive to their needs. With women each has different needs, both mentally and physically. Find out what hers are and fulfill them as much as she requires them. If her needs get to be too much for your needs, adios.
One of my favorite songs is "Tough & Tender" by Rod Piazza. He says in the song if you want to find the way to a woman's heart, be tough & tender. I believe this to be true.
My only real advice is, do not spend more money than you can afford to lose.
Health & happiness to all.

Yeah Supersteve I think you got it. Fortunately for you those experiences you had made you stronger. I know way too many guys that just stay the same IMO weak pathetic dudes falling in love with the first hot piece of ass that shakes her tail in front of him. I used to be that way and wish it didn't take me so much time to get over my first couple of girlfriends which ate up time to start dating other ones. I definetely am a fan of making a hooker your girlfriend, as long as you know that the only reason you are doing it is to lower costs. I think a lot of guys get confused and get in a fuzzy grey area, they say one thing but feel another. In fact I get more pissed if a stranger / escort does not make it for an appointment than I would if I was doing shit all day with a girl and she seemed to be very into me and I was into her and she didn't show up for the next meeting, because once that attraction takes place my mind says alright now cut off all expectations. If you expect something from these girls, pretty much any female in general, you will always be let down. Women are moody, jealous, psychotic creatures, it's just who they are. And unfortunately per books I've read the more reasonable and calm you are the more you will want some psycho ***** in your life that creates tons of drama.

Get a Yellow Taxi to Adelitas, both AB and HK are on the same street, the Yellow Cab will drop off in front of AB. The bars are open all day and all night, they do close in the mornings for clean up of course, but are essentially opened all day and night. There is not a charge to get in to AB, but HK does have an entrance fee on weekend nights because it gets crowded and they know they can charge, it's basically a $4 beer purchase is the entry fee.
These bars do not compare to the agencies, they're apples and oranges obviously. To each his own.
Have fun.

In relationships, the one that cares the most loses.
Many men have never been with a lady as beautiful as what they can get in P4P. To them it is like a drug. Just like a drug, it will never be better than the first time. Just remember no matter how good looking she is, some guy is tired of putting up with her sh*t.
I have been very lucky all my life, in all ways, but especially with women. I have phucked the hottest of the hot, to the moped's (you know the ones you don't want to be seen riding). I will say that IMO the most insecure have been the hottest. Hot women, especially in P4P are like buses, there will be another one by in ten minutes, or less. Be who you are, and if she doesn't like it, try the next bus that comes by, you will finally reach your destination.
It is like sales, you need to get the No's out of the way to get to the yes. In my 20's I had a job where I could take off for months at a time. Well since I lived near the beach, it was always during the summer. I would go to the beach and actually ask women to get naked with me until one said yes. My rate of return was never really great, maybe one out of ten. I found that being told no never really hurt, and made some nice acquaintances, that I would introduce to my friends. I always found a minimum of one a day though. No means nothing except not right now. Give it your best shot, and if doesn't work, give it again with someone else, until it does. You will not be happy unless you are being who you really are.
I will be in town again this weekend winging with a newbie to Tijuana. I'll see if I can finally get it right!
Health & Happiness to all.
