They should bull doze the place if they can't ever get good looking chicas there, on another note your buddy should apply at New Garden or look up the owner of Sosua Bay.
Why would anybody choose to do business with the owner of Sosua Bay?
That did not quite work out as planned for Art Tarlow.
Well, if the Puerto Plata section has now turned into the literary supplement, I might as well join in. Which recent and award-winning Dominican novel features a mongoose?
One bit of Puerto Plata news. Randall the manager of Field of Dreams / Whitebeards left on Thursday. No idea why. The place soon started going downhill. A guy staying there told me today that there was no hot water, dirty towels and no toilet paper in the stalls. Such a shame because the place is absolutely beautiful.
Charles, please do not join the literary section. Keep us honest and don't let us lose the big picture (LOL). Oh, and I just left you a PM.

12 Days at BlackBeards
Gentleman of the Board! I humbly come before you seeking knowledge!
"
After reading the PP board, I decided to stay at BB for the duration of my trip. I kinda like the option of having a "safe" home base to venture out from to check out Sousa and everything else. If I decide "to take the training wheels" off next trip I'll know what to expect. Plus I like to spend alot of time on the beach, in addition to that I plan on getting open water qualifed at Scuba Elite. So I think I'll spend enough time off the grounds not to get bored.
So my questions are. Drum roll! LOL!
1. What should I buy at the duty free to keep in my room for the girls? I was in Boca Chica in 2010 and most of the girls were asking for Johnny Walker black or Remy. Whats the perferred drink at BB? Should I buy it at the duty free in Miami or the duty free at PP?
2. I like that the prices are set at BB. I'm willing to pay a little extra to not have drama. But if a chica gives me good service what is a reasonable good tip? The equivalent of 10 dollars. 20? I don't want to [CodeWord140] off a good provider, but I don't want to "spoil" it either. Thanks!

I would not get them anything really, but on the other hand you could save yourself a few dollars buying them drinks at the bar. Often they will tend to ask for whatever they think is fashionable or expensive. A bottle of rum would be useful as it can be mixed with Coke to make a popular local drink. Be careful offering the girls too many drinks as they may drink too much and then either throw up or fall asleep on you and you probably won't get the desired result. One drink as a relaxer won't harm though. I think the duty free shops are only on the way out. I don't think you can buy on arrival at Puerto Plata.
2. You don't have to pay extra to avoid drama. If you give the impression that you will pay more, you may get more drama. If you like the girl a lot, give her an extra 500 pesos, which is about $12, for her baby or her mother. She will probably appreciate it. Don't say it is a tip for good service.

Thanks Frannie! When I said I'm willing to pay extra to avoid drama, I meant the extra cost of staying at BB vs being in Sousa which is supposedly cheaper. Thanks for your help!

Keep in mind that outside booze is prohibited but if you keep it in your room nobody will say anything. I always brought in several bottles of hard liquor because I like to drink shots with my beer and it saves a few bucks, otherwise I just break down and buy them at the bar, remember that you are on vacation and tightening the belt too far can put a damper on an otherwise fine trip.
Don't get carried away with the tipping of the girls or they will see you as a mark. On the other hand if you want to get the most out of a girl tell her in advance that you have a gift for her if she treats you well in the room. You can also bring some cheap trinkets from your home country and use those as well, use your imagination.

Thanks!
Thanks! I'll be sure NOT to get carried away with tipping! I'm glad I asked for some input!

Vibrador

On my last trip I had one girl ask if she could just go up to my room to use the vibrator. She said "you no pay. No freaky freaky I only use vibrador". I told her fine with me as long as I could watch. Of course I ended up paying anyhow since we both had a good time. I usually leave any sex toys since I don't need them and they make a good gift.
As mentioned in other threads, perfume, candy and clothing can make excellent gifts that do not cost too much.
I typically tip 100 or 200 pesos and have never had any complaints.

More vibrator info?
I have found that a good vibrator can increase the fun in the room.
Dumb question. What is a good vibrator feature wise, what is a good mail order place to buy it from and what is a good price? Is small better than big. For relative ease during travel and any other pertinent info. I have never used one so I wonder if this is a piece of male fantasy or women actually like the idea. Thanks.
What's with the jabs? I really did not know that literature and womanizing (or boozing.another popular pastime here) are mutually exclusive. Not if the likes of Hemingway (or zillion others) are an example. How often can one chime in if the girls are $20 more expensive or which hotel is the easiest for the women to sneak in or if the Dominicans are better than Haitians? Besides, would you rather expound on snoop dogg or Harper Lee? I know my choice.LOL.
From Wikipedia: "Charles Pooter is a fictional character, the supposed author and leading character of George and Weedon Grossmith's comic novel Diary of a Nobody. Pooter is a middle aged and middle class City of London clerk with ideas above his station. Apart from taking himself very seriously indeed, he is also an extreme example of self-importance, with the unhappy result that he is much snubbed by those he considers beneath him."

Damn near anything that says Aeropostale on it, too.
In my experience, most of the chicas asked for a tequila at the bar.
(Oddly enough, they preferred the house brand vs. The brands we are familiar with in the states.)
You can get some good prices on liquor for there or to take home at Jenny's, the grocery in Costambar.
Good luck,

My last trip I bought about 7 small bags of sun chips, http://www.sunchips.com/ (a box of sun chips of 30 small bags, variety pack, is about $11US at Sams Club, about 40 cents a bag). Small bags were good to have, with large bags of chips, the chips can get stale or go soft from the humidity, if you don't eat them right away.
Most DR chicas like Baileys. From what I have seen, the duty free prices are cheaper than the supermarket and liquor store prices in the DR. Tequila, Cognac, Whiskey, Vodka, Rum, I have seen chicas in the DR drink. At the airport in Santo Domingo, you can buy at the duty free when arriving into to the DR, I don't know if that option is available at the Puerto Plata airport.

I would say they definitely enjoy using a vibrator and I have had several chicas ask me to bring them one on my trips.
You can typically buy vibrators at your local adult book store and of course online. There used to be a sex shop in Sosua but it was closed when I was there in March. Pricing varies but the small pocket rocket and clit vibrators run about $5-10 but the better the quality the more they cost. The one in the picture cost me about $15 plus two C size batteries. I always wanted to get some of the remote control eggs and have one of the girls sit down at the bar while I ran the remote. Problem is they cost about $40.

Thanks!
I dive with Scuba Elite when I'm in Sosua. Kerrie runs a great boutique operation. North Cost Diving is a 'cattle boat' operation. The diving in the bay is only fair and the best sites are on the western wall out by the airport. You'll be spending most of the time diving Three Rocks. After diving everyone sits out front of the dive shop sharing a few beers & swapping stories. Around 5pm it was time to head to La Rumbas to fine some late afternoon entertainment. How are you getting to Sosua each day?
I spent four days at BB in December and had a great time. Interact with the girls, spend a few pesos and they will treat you right. Keeping some beer and booze in your room is a good idea. Your late night guests and you will want some party material. Baileys & tequila are the most popular but the chicas will drink what ever you have. The motel shuts down around 12pm-1pm. Make sure you have your date line up by them because all the unattached girls go home and there are no other options in the area. I did not tip much, never more then a couple hundred pesos. Mostly I showed my appreciation by giving repeat business to the chicas I enjoyed.
