Run Mann, Buzz00,
Thank you for your reply!
Yes I have done some surfing of this forum, and I'm thinking probably something like Metro Apartments or perhaps Secrets Hotel. It seems the forum doesnt have too much wrong to say about these places.
Also, Run Mann, do you think those travel sites are going to be understanding in my less than politically correct comments/requests? I'm not saying they will or wont, just not so sure if they would give a true "real world/real man's" advice or just some horse sh|t piece of advice that they have given a thousand times because its in a brochure etc.
Thank you so much guys, I really hope some other members read my post and also offer some advice.
Matt

As far as I am aware these do not have pools you could try the www.arecalodge.com they have a pool as well & gf haven't stayed there yet as gets booked up fairly quickly. You may get a better rate via WWW.RES24.CO.UK

I think they will be more than understanding just don’t be rude. You’re traveling to Pattaya not Boise Idaho, even Hotel Travel Agents knows what Pats is about. Remember they want your business but aside from questions #1 and 4, your only comment I see falling into that category is the joiner fee/girl friendly one, which I am sure the travel sites have heard before and will get the answer for you. By reading through those sites though you can get the answers to a lot of those questions you asked. Don't forget to report on your adventures.

4. Families/kids: Forget it. In no way do I want to be banging the hell out of my chosen nightly companion to have to worry about offending anyone, or having to “act nicely” because some stupid idiot decided to bring his children and wife along. I want to sit in the bar with a hangover the next morning and talk to some other guys about their fun the night before, not have to act like a gentleman and talk to some woman or family about the weather. I don’t want to have to worry about when a girl is getting frisky and I hang my c0ck out for a look that some idiot is going to be offended.
Tunnel,
I don't think that people who travel with their kids are necessarily stupid idiots.
Pattaya has far more to offer than just bars and gogos.
Additionally you should take in count, that you may not only offend other guests of the hotel, but also Thais. Don't forget, you are a guest in LOS and should respect their culture and rules. Being on a sex tour doesn't mean to behave like a pig whereever and whenever you want. A nice attitude and good manners are always appreciated and will get you more far than disrespect and behaving like a lager lout.
If you can't or don't want to behave you better stay at home as people like you give the rest of us a bad name and only confirm prejudices that Thais do have about farangs.
There is no reason to behave any different than you would do at home.

I guess I am just trying to give the worst/most graphic explanation of what I know (wether it is right or not) has happened before. I am not saying that its a habit or that I am such a rough operator and that this is daily routine.
Anyway, I appreciate all advice and comments. Again, I am sorry (and especially for the length and complexity of my original post) but I am just tyring to get an idea of what other peoples advice is. I keep seeing one line posts that say "coming to Pattay, please advise hotel" and the only advice people like that seem to get is RTFF. I have read every page back to about 2005, and yes I think I have a fair idea of what people seem to advise as good/bad, but I just wanted to make sure i give a nice graphic and detailed request about my desires/expectations so I can have some very targetted and accurate advice.
So, once more, I am sorry for coming across as a moron, and I dont mean to offend you or any others with my post. I dont think people with families or kids are idiots. I dont expect them to "stay away, because now I am here everything has to go MY way".
Anymore advice from anyone who is willing to offer would be most welcome.
Thank you.

I think Residence Garden would be great for you. Danish owner, quiet, 5 minutes by baht bus, internet across the street, good pool, 2 TVs, in-room safe, bedroom separate for living room, girl friendly, etc.
Do a search for Residence Garden. They have their own website. Cost is about B1500 per night.

Thank you very much for this suggestion. You are right, it does look good. SHould I be worried that it is verging perhaps on the "glitzy hotel" side of things? I am not saying that I like to stay in sh|t hole places, just want to make sure it has a nice 'feel' to the place. The last thing I want is to feel like just another guest.
However, from what you have said about the owner, and also the website, i get this feeling that perhaps this might be right on target.
Thank you very much for your help, and I hope that any other members can offer any other advice, or affirmation of Residence Garden as a good solution?
My shortlist now:
Residence Garden
Roof Garden
Secrets Hotel
Metro Apartments
Any further comment or advice on these ones from anyone, given my original post/dreams/desires would be most appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Jasmine Mansion maybe?
Hey Fellas,
This is my first trip to Pattaya and I've been doing much research on this board. I'm really looking for a nice room, preferably hardwood floors, girl-friendly obviously, and not too far from the action. I am looking for an upper-scale (4 star)hotel. In the 1500 - 3000 range a night range. I do not need a kitchen or anything large, but I want a very nice place with good furniture and a nice bathroom.
I'm leaning towards a penthouse at the Jasmine Mansion. It's 2250 a night and I think they have week deals. Has anyone every stayed in the penthouse at jasmine before, if so please describe. The room still isn't quite what i'm looking for...was hoping floor flat-screen tv and hardwood floors, but the private balcony seems pretty nice:

Any input or other suggested hotels would be greatly appreciated--I have thoroughly read the forum but am having a hard time finding the right place.
Thank you,
KT2

Tunnel,
your reaction gives some hope that you won't act like the moron you described.
The Sabai Inn is a decent hotel which has almost everything you are looking for.
It's clean, secure, has nice rooms with in-room safe, is close to the action, staff is extremely friendly and won't say a thing even if you come back with "multiple guests".
They don't have a pool though but you can use the pool of the sister hotel (same owner, different management) Sabai Lodge just across the street. No view too. Choose a room facing the Sea because on the other side of the hotel is a night club and a bit down the street the bars of Soi 2.
Price is about 800-900 baht.

KT2
I called them last week and the penthouse was booked for a long time.
Other rooms were available.
Tim Boutique hotel looks nice, but they don’t answer my mail.
They have a bar close by to, so I think its girl friendly.

I have only been to Pattaya ones (2 nights) and then i stayed at Sunshine Vista soi 2 or 3.
Nice place with a pool on the roof that was nice.
Close Big C and not so much noise from the bars (there aren’t many in that street)
No problem with girls, but my wingman at that point had an incident with the night guard when he brought home 2 girls.
Not that they refused, but he talk some shit to the girls and that spoiled the evening for my wingman.
I had no problems, but that was some years ago.

More Residence Garden
I should clarify that RG is on the road to Jomtien, 5 minutes by baht bus from walking street. Spend an hour or two in Jomtien for something a little different from Pattaya. RG is a 10 minute walk but with the heat and buses driving by every 2 minutes, take a bus. You get a full size refrigerator, its quiet, not too big, great air con, balcony and a full living room. Some of the views are decent depending on your room location.
RG and White House condotel http://www.whitehousecondotel.com/ are my two favorites in Pattaya. I actually like White House better because its a little closer to the action.

Places to stay
I will be in Pattaya the beginning of April (first time).
I've narrowed down my places to stay to the Flipper Lodge hotel or the Secrets Hotel.
Any insights to either of these places?
Thanks

Thanks
Both are reasonable places.
Secrets is located off Walking Street , rooms look good from their website, everything in the rooms are new, no pool though.
Flipper is good if you want to visit the bars around soi 7 & 8 plus having a pool is a bonus as it gives you somewhere to go of a day.
If it was me I would book a few nights at Flipper then move down to Secrets once you get the lay of the land.
