ET's point was about safe sex
Sorry, but I don't see the connection of your post to mine, or the subject of this thread, which is titled Safe Sex in the PI.
ET's point involves a chain of logic. 1. Prostitution is illegal in the Phils, and therefore all these various clubs are hiding their real purpose behind other names-in fact, a series of veiled labels. 2. If the clubs hide their real reason for existence, then they probably are not committed to making sure STI tests are done carefully (in other words, it's all just a show).3. If the tests are a sham, mongers should not put much stake in any claims the girls or bars make about the "proof" of girls being STI-free. Whether or not you agree with his argument, there really was a logic to it, and it really does relate to safe sex in the Philippines.
ET, WR, and FF are experienced Phils mongers, have been following the Phils Forum for many years, and know their way around the mongering scene here. You can learn many factoids about the Phils from online sources, but they're not of much value if you can't relate them to some context that comes from experience on the ground. An "average" STI rate is not a meaningful point of reference, since it's an arithmetic mean calculated across the entire population. What it doesn't show is whether there are vast areas with essentially no STIs, and other small areas where most of the STIs are concentrated. Similarly, a crime rate for Manila is calculated across the entire metro area. It includes gated communities with essentially no crime and numerous horrendous slums where men's typical employment is scavenging recyclable materials--or crime. Experienced expats and mongers stay out of those areas unless escorted in by Filipinos. By sticking to areas that are generally safe, not displaying expensive jewelry and watches, carrying only small amounts of cash that are carefully secured on your person, and not getting drunk in public you can avoid becoming a crime statistic.
Following ET's lead, I mean no offense by this: please step back from some of these feuds you're fighting and consider that these experienced mongers know what they're talking about--whether it's about general safety in Manila, STI testing, or behind the scenes activities that keep these establishments in business. You'll get more candid advice from guys who know the Phils scene if you refrain from feuding with experienced Phils mongers before you've ever set foot in the country. Or you can jump back defensively at me, and then one more guy will stop responding to your many questions.
