I have read the board, and cannot find a girl-friendly hotel in SOSUA with in the room internet access. I have read that not all hotels are girl friendly, so Expedia.com is not the way to find a hotel.
Any suggestions? Please help!
The hotel voramar has wirless internet access in the bar area. The signal was very strong and when i was there in february i could use the internet in my room too without problems.

I read some posts a few pages back talking about Viagra. One says they aren't allowed to sell it over the counter anymore as of January 07 and a couple that said they still were at that time. Are there any updates about this?
I found a good airfare to POP for next Thursday. If it's still there on Monday and I can get the time approved, I'm going.
How is Sosua over the Easter holiday? Are there a lot less girls around?
I'm also going to email a couple of the recommended hotels and check on availability.
Thanks in advance,
Methos

Las Canas
Have any of you staid at Las Canas? Are they chica friendly? Would you also please recommend something similar in Cabarete ? Been few times to SD, time now to explore the North Coast.
Thank You all for all your contributions, as a relative newbie your posts helped me a lot in SD.
There are chica friendly hotels in Sosua and you are going to find them searching through Expedia. The Hotels are the Europa, New Garden, Voramar, Clud Residential, and other smaller hotels that are cheaper than these. I dont most of these hotels offer internet room access, just go down to Rockys sit down and have a meal or something to eat and you will all the internet you will want.
The restaurant attached to The Europa w/ free internet access for customers is called Don Quixote's.
Its independently owned by a guy from upstate New York. I liked him, but I can see how he can be alittle gruff at times.
However, I was laughing my ass off when I saw the attched video. This guy did an absolute "hatchet-job" on him. This is one very, very funny video! :D

Pana NYC- its funny you mention the "guest friendly" hotels and then separately mention that Rocky's is a good place for the internet. Isn't Rocky's a well-known "guest friendly" place? Or has their policy changed? I've never stayed there but I know guys who swear by it.
cheers mates............

Adult Video
Where in the Dominican Republic can you get adult video?

i think he means they don't check or hold the girl's id. that can be a good or bad thing, good mostly for someone with an **** girl or possibly a haitiana without proper documentation.
in some hotels, if a girl leaves solo, reception will call your room to make sure everything is ok before they will return her cedula. i've had that happen when the girl in question was a long time amiga and not a casual pickup. it was unnecessary, but i still appreciated the fact that they were looking out for me.

STI to Sosua/Cabarete
Do you think that I would need to rent a car? Any ideea of how much would a cabbie charge? Which would you choose (you all know the criterias), Casa Linda or Las Canas? Two of us will be there from Apr 21st to Apr 29th, would love to get together for few Presidente.

Calypso Hotel
The Calypso is on one of the side streets off the main street. (I know that sounds lame but don't know the exact street.) Not hard to find and anyone on the street can give you exact directions.
Last time I used it (about a year ago) they had short time rooms for 300 RD for an hour or so. I think they had an all night rate, too.
The rooms are OK, nothing glamorous, a bit austere even. Bed, sheets, bathroom, towels and air conditioning.
The owners do not require ID from the girls. Be smart.

As far as the rental car goes, if this is your first trip down to the DR I would not suggest it. Get a lay of the land on your first trip and once you feel comfortable with the way they drive down here you should be ok.
Caribe has busses that do the trip. http://www.caribetours.com.do/

Walk from Classico towards the disco called Searcrets, pass Searcrets and take the second street on the left. The hotel is on the right hand side of that street.
I was there in February and March 2007 several times with a girl who did not have id. One hour or st is 300 pesos and toda la noche is 700 pesos. The room was okay but the bathroom was disgusting.
