While your negative experience is worth noting I would not say it is sufficient to generalize from your one visit, which seems to be a common over reaction on this board.
Changes is an evolving operation and frankly I am rooting for its success because it offers an all day and, ore importantly all night option, until last client, 2-3 am. SP is loaded w daytime options but at night you have only trash boates, absurdly expensive boates, and Casarao. Chanes offers another option and I welcome that, it deserves support. The pricing is reasonable, the location is great, the infrastructure is fine. The selection of girls is the only weak variable bit that is evolving. GPguia reviews are very favorable. I have sessioned repeatedly w 2 there that are fantastic. The overcharge situation you encountered is I assure you not a commonplace, I am positive it was an innocent mistake due to changing pricing model. Despite the paranoia on this site about gring tax, Fefao does not need or care about ripping off gringos. Heis one of true quality owners around.
Fwiw, its now 140 hour every day before 3 pm and all, day on Saturday.
Cannot edit my own report (long story) but I can reply to clarify. Do not mean to sound harsh to PipeLayer, apologies if it came off that way. I was a bit agitated only because this board, in particular the RJ board is always going on about how the Brazilian management lacks common sense and raises prices when demand is down. Also a common complaint is the lack of new places opening, failure to reinvest etc. It was more in this respect that I reacted to the knock on Chanes. If you subtract Fefao's places from SP it would be a poorer mongering experience. He did not need to open Chanes, and it may fail but it is worthy of respect because it is trying to address a market need. As I said, the only thing lacking is a reliable lineup, but this may develop over time as more girls become aware of the option. Assuming there are clients, so it is a classic bootstrap dilemma. All I can say is that the management is clearly trying. If anything there is a price war in SP right now, with the clinicas lowering prices and offering "mileage" programs. Yes, most of these programs require posting on gpguia, but that is not an overwhelming obstacle. From a business perspective it makes sense and after all, a big criticism has been the lack of business sense.
As to PipeLayer's price dispute, such things happen, its always a buyer beware situation in Brazil. There are places that really seek to rip off tourists, more so in Rio with Barbarella's etc, and in SP at the infamous Romanza. But Fefao's clinicas are not in that category, they are actually customer focused places, as are most of the clinicas.
Cheer.

One of the things I like most about Tangara are the hosts who do there best to make you comfortable. The manager at Chanes is in the same vein. All the other houses I have been to are way to cold. Makes it way to much like a doctors office.

Maybe this is another case of a gringo THINKING he was ripped off when its possible he just did not understand the ground rules. When Chanes first opened, for a short time it had a cover of 60 reais. Assume beers are really 15 reais on the menu. But if you entered and had 1 beer, you still had to pay the 60 cover. That is not being ripped off, that is just not understanding the cover policy. I am not sure if that was the situation you encountered, but it seems possible. Fwiw, Chanes no longer has a cover. You can enter, sit, chat, eat and drink a la carte.

Cheer.
No sweat. Been to Brazil about 20 times, and I have a 10 year Visa. And I can speak Portuguese pretty good too. Not offended by your other post at all. Just keeping it real and honest.
We have to warn each other when shit happens. The same as we should tell each other when good things happen.
In my old post, I was stating some real concerns. The girls there, IMO, weren't all that. Seen and had much better in the clinicas. My 02 cents.
The problem was when I went to pay. The girl at the desk did try to overcharge me. There really is no excuse for that. The manager told me the pricing and made me aware of the time / price structure.
Plus, when you take a girl, they put the girl's name in the book and write the time down. So there is no way it was NOT a mistake.
I had the tour with the manager, and bought a few girls for the girl in her presence, she knew I was straight up. When the exit price came up, I called the manager over, and she fixed it immediately.
Funny how the girl at the desk looked all upset (as if I had taken money from her). That was total bullshit. It was fixed, because I complained. But I hope it doesn't happen to another ISG member.

As for getting ripped off it is possible that it was just a mistake and the person who cashed me out wasn't aware they stopped the cover charge. But others who I was with and left before me were not charged. This happened twice but it was on the bubble of them removing the ticket system.
But this was a a fairly long while ago now. The last few times I did not have this problem.

Was in SP for a week or so, thought I'd check out Scandalo, which is not on my normal circuit.
I'm not usually in to the high end, usually over-priced venues.
I showed up by Uber, right before 7 pm, they were very nice at the reception, and I was explained that I'd get the early bird deal of 150 BR entry, all consumable.
Got the grand tour and had a seat at the restaurant.
I was literally the only guy in the place, so I was being winked and smiled by about 30 girls at this point, LOL.
Had a nice dinner, used up the 150 BR plus a little.
Walked around a bit, some dudes started showing up, and at 9 or 10 pm, the place was full.
There was a table outside with some rich (looking) Japonese guys.
All the cute little blond spinners lined up close to their table, smiling and looking sexy, just hoping to get picked.
It was interesting to watch.
Anyway, nothing there that would warrant 500 BR plus for me, so I left, grabbed and Uber to Casarao where I got lucky and met a real sweetheart from Minas, and we had a blast for a total of 200 BR.
The rooms there are a constant at 40 or 80 BR for 40 or 60 min.
The girls can charge whatever they want.
I told her I had 200 BR total to give, and she said "sim amor" LOL.
Scandalo is elegant and classy for sure, just not worth it for me.
Good food, some hot girls, though nothing better than I'd find in the top Casarao girls, or CLínica girls.
It's for guys who don't mind a 1000 BR night.
Which is OK, however, if in SP for a length of time, that would add up quickly.
Enjoy guys!

I only visited 6 clubs. Some clubs I visited more often. It is not in few weeks you ll know SP. SP is way different than Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre.
I've been to few clubs in Sao Paulo. What I know some clubs have a better selection than some others.

Better looking regardless of ethnicity or more of a particular ethnic type? "Better" is a loaded word in this hobby. It's easier to speak of quantity than quality. There are places with 10 girls, large clinicas with 10-20 girls and the big boates with 50.
These questions come up a lot, one guy even asked which place had more big naturals. Sao Paulo is an extremely diverse population w people from all parts of Brazil represented. When a place has 10-20 girls, the addition or subtraction of a few of one type, blonde or mulata for example, may change your impressions of that place. But these are usually daily and weekly fluctuations. The turnover on these places is high so its impossible to characterize them long term imo in terms of types. There are no places where it's wall to wall blondes or wall to wall mulatas or japas. The only places I can think of that seem to have a quota system are the expensive clinicas like the Palms, Lotus Lounge and France Bel. Those places tend to be snobbish and seem to manage their roster to have a lot of european types and few if any Afro or Indian Brazilians.
I can say that higher end places have a lot of eye candy and trash places have mostly uglies. The mid ramge places like TG and Chanes etc have a mix, but it all comes down to personal taste. I seldom see more than 2 girls out od 10 that I really wheras some guys like 8 ot of 10. In my case I just visit as many as possible and leave without sessioning if I don't see what I like. I really think that is all one can do.
Maybe other members have different impresions of SP clubs in terms of the "kinds" of girls. I would be interested to hear.

Agree with Rovnak. Not an expert of SP by any means but don't believe there is a place with concentration of one ethnicity. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are many all around SP.
Just go with the flow and you will have a great time. I am back in SP next week so will report back.
The itinerary will mostly be like this:
Brooklin / Mirunas during the daytime. Will be checking out Chanes as well as we didn't know about it during the last visit.
Scandallo / Bamboa from 7 pm until midnight.
Casarao to finish the night.
