the Nazis with their passion for the occult and trying to find a link to the dawn of time
The Nazis were trying to connect themselves to the proto-Indo-European "pure race" Aryans- the "noble" (as in Buddhist "noble truths" aryasatyani) Indo-Iranians that conquered most of the known world under the Persian emperors Cyrus and Darius, and referred to their own language as "Aryan." The "noble" castes in Hinduism are arya. The swastika is considered the oldest The Nazis always, I think, used the left-facing swastika, while the original "Aryan" one generally faced right. It is difficult for me, at least, to figure which elements of Thai "Buddhist" architecture and symbolism are actually Buddhist and which were co-opted from Brahmanism; in the case of the swastika it probably doesn't matter.
The Thais', by which I mean "educated" (please forgive my overuse of quotation marks in this post- one might think I lived on Soi Disant) Thais, lack of knowledge of their own country's role in WWII is rather tragic, I think; they might well be proud of the way their country so adroitly played both sides. They resisted the Japanese at first- but got some nice territories in every neighboring country from the Japanese in return for coming onboard. All the while they had managed to establish a government in exile by forming Seri Thai at the Thai embassy in DC, just in case. . . If for nothing else we can always give the Thais credit for knowing which way the wind blows. Their fascist leaders during the war, who dearly loved the Japanese, even managed to get themselves re-instated well after the war, with the help of the Americans, of course; just like the Class A Japanese war criminals who continued running Japan after the war, Phibun & Co. were staunch anti-communist.
By the way, the lyrics to the Thai National Anthem were commissioned by the same staunchly anti-royalist fascists in 1939. I guess the lese-majeste fetishists didn't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

My lord.
Are these girls available? If so, around what are prices? (hoping for the best, expecting the worst) Are there other clubs like this one?
Thx
German Civil War (1919 - 23) ? What is that? Shouldn't I know about that?
I realize that the history lessons in Germany's schools are obviously lousy :) .
Giotto
Among other things...
The Naval revolt in Wilhelmshaven in December 1918. Rosa Luxemburg's Spartacist uprising in Berlin in 1919. The Communist takeover of Bavaria which was smashed by Freikorp Ritter von Epp and other freikorp units. The Baltic War in Latvia. The First and Second Silesian Uprising. The unsuccessful Erhardt/Ludendorff Putsch of 1920. The unsuccesful Nazi Putsch of 1923.
You mean they didn't teach you this stuff in school in Germany?
Sorry, to clutter up this thread in an effort to give Giotto a history lesson about his own country. But, one can forgive him, as he's really just a plaster painter from Florence who long ago eschewed his German-ness.
To make this relevant to the Thai thread, here's a pic of one of the wierd aspects of Thai culture - a High School Spirit Day with a Nazi theme. Strange but true. It's like a scene from the movie, "The Producers". 'Springtime for Hitler', anyone?

Thx
These are known as the coyote dancers and they are not really part of the P2P scene. People pay a lot for drinking with them or going out with them HOPING to get laid. Your chances improved significantly if you have things the girls are attracted to eg looks, sense of humour, lots of money etc. and it will more like a boyfriend-girlfriend arrangement.
But, you can certainly get girls of similar quality in the model section of massage parlours in Bangkok. Some of these girls are sideliners and work part-time at the massage parlours and could be models, students or even coyote dancers, depending on your luck and the season. Prices starting from 3500 baht for 45-min session to 5500 baht for the kind of stunner that appear initially in that Youtube video.
In fact, if I am not mistaken she is a rather popular model and featured on the Asian4u site called Irene Fah (not her real name obviously). She was also a model of Thai Penthouse at one time, which is virtually a catalogue of soon-to-be working girls.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=irene+fah&btnG=Google+Search
I heard from certain quarters that she is indeed available at the right price but only through special arrangement. You can ask the mamasan at the model lounge of Poseidon but she will probably bring out her catalogue of equally hot models instead.

OTH,
Your list of events is certainly correct, what is irritating is the fact that you call it the "German Civil War", a term which is not used in german history. There was a lot of turmoil in the years you refer to but in no way did it resemble anything like a civil war.
So maybe Giotto's history lessons were not that bad after all.

I learned about some of these in a class on Germany from WWI to about 1930 -- focused more on culture but also with a political history component-- but I've never heard it referred to as "Civil War" with a capital C and W. I'm still not convinced this is something there would be a concensus on among historians, that there is such a thing as The German Civil War, 1919-1923. Upheaval, uncertainly, chaos, isolated pusch's, yes -- Civil War, never heard that. And since this is the Nightlife thread, I guess I should mention that nightlife in Berlin in the 20s was supposedly the cat's meow.

Eden
Man it sucks to be back in the states. Oh well. While in Bangkok I visited Eden once. Although it is expensive I have vowed to go once each time I visit Thailand. Went about 1pm and when I was ready several mediocre girls lined up. Suprisingly though the cutest one was on the left side of the line. Naturally I picked her and then just let her pick anyone else she wanted as I didn't see anyone else I was interested in. She picked someone from the right side of the line with not a great face but a good body. Then just as we were heading up, I saw another girl with a smoking body that wasn't in the line up. I didn't try to make any switches though. The girl that I liked from the left side of the line was named Annie. She was cute and had a really nice firm body, long straight silky hair, and a nice ass which I plugged up for the first go around. The second go around was a BBBJ to completion in Annie's mouth. Man I felt so good after that session. I felt 10 times better and more relaxed than the crappy oil massage I got at Nataree. Man I cannot wait to go back to Thailand, I just hope I don't wait so long to go next time.

I wasn't being arrogant. I honestly thought you didn't know because you said so, and because I have been told by German friends in the past, that history in German schools was very selectively taught for many years. Therefore, I thought perhaps this period was down-played or omitted along with a lot of Nazi history.
Anyway, I think both you and Wendella are correct. It seems to be called the German Civil War in some English language history books, only which is where I learned about it and therefore I used that term. I suppose it was referred to that way because technically it was two opposing sides fighting in the same country, much as there was also a Russian Civil War, roughly at the same time with similar opponents.
Sorry, if you're annoyed.
Maybe we should get back to discussing Thailand.

No problem, sorry for the "arrogance".
Returning to the Thailand discussion - good idea. I am leaving Thailand for Germany today :( ... may be you should meet up with Piper here at Livingstone's to exchange the latest Bangkok news :) .

The Thermae
I was in Bangkok Dec 21-23(the bars closed on Saturday night for the election) and decided to visit the infamous Thermae below the Rumchitt Plaza Hotel. I had gone there in 2001 following Stickmans guide to nightlife in Bangkok and it was quite entertaining. To my surprise the place is still kicking(at least the Friday I was there) with quite a few lookers(go after 11pm). So if your in the area and are out trolling on the weekend night, give it a try. Oh by the way, the Marble House on the third floor of the same building offers great REGULAR massages. It still listed in the most recent Lonely Planet Guide. Finally, went to the Aviva Message off Soi 8 and got a good oil massage and FS for 1900bt from a real stunner named Nok.
In BKK sukhumvit Soi4 towards Soi2, there are two Pharmacies side by side. In the second one I paid 300THB for 4 Camagra 100
and 500 THB for 4 (one box) Apcalis (Tadalafil 20 mg)
In Pattaya Nakluaroad, the first Pharmacie on the right side (coming from the turnaround) I paid 400 THB for Apcalis. Prices vary a lot. Some Pharmacy ask for 1000 THB one for 1500 THB!!!!.
Hi. I've never heard much of Camagra or Apcalis (must be different versions of Viagra and Cialis). I pay 1800B for 4 Viagra pills on Suk Soi 15 (Southeast Pharmacy). If Camagra or Apcalis work the same I'd rather get those since they appear to be less expensive, according to your post. How do they work?
