If you stay in Vila Mariana you will pay less
A website mentioned Pinheiros. Should I stay near Paulista? Looking for a nearby budget and value venues.
Hotel like Ibis Budget on Av. Vergueiro is close to Av. Paulista and cheaper. www.decolar.com.br is a good website to choose your best hotel.
ABG.
Pinheiros is a good location
I was deciding I chose Pinheiros. Lots of shops restaurants and cafes. And a bonus is Bomboa is walking distance from much of Pinheiros.
I stay in Pinheiros when in Sao Paulo. As you say, it has lots of shops and places to eat, but more so at the southern end of Pinheiros than the northern end and its close to Vila Madalena for even more restaurants.
There are also several metro stations on the yellow line in Pinheiros that will get you to other parts of the city. For example, Line 4 (Yellow) to Pinheiros, change to line 9 (Esmeralda) at Pinheiros and get off at Morumbi will take you to Brooklin, Kin, Cancioneiro, Espaco Morumbi (all within walking distance of the metro). Line 4 to Paulista then line 2 (green) to Ana Rosa then onto the line 1 (blue) for plenty more clinicas. Line 4 (Yellow) to Republica then line 3 (Red) to Carrao for the Tatuape clinicas.
Forgot to add. Lilac line
There are now metro stations on the new Lilac line that will get you to the Moema Clinicas. Eucaliptos station is closest to most of them, but use Moema station for Clinica Red.
