Hi Horn Dog2
I am glad that you find our Vietnamese girls attractive. Many people I know like their slim body, me too. I also like the tall, slender, and white Korean and Northern Chisese girls. Normally, I don't have any preference when it comes to girls. However, I am a little bit afraid of the Thai girls. They are attractive but somehow too mechanical and money wise probably because they have had so many encounters with the big boys from Europe/America. They lack the innocence that I desire.
I only say what I know and I am not by any means the expert in mongering activity. OAH is the mongering master and I am learning a lot from him.

Hey it doesn't hurt to ask right? Just say you are influential and we are all set. Next time put in a little bit more explanations or you will get some more "smart ass" questions.
To your comment about " I get opportunities with Vietnamese women that you can only dream about". I don't dream about YOUR Vietnamese women, no matter how beautiful or famous, because I already have one that only people like you dream about. Any women who fucked or like to fuck foreingers are not in my list. I also don't dream about getting a virgin because to me it is a dirty job and only sicko likes it for luck or some sickness I don't understand.

See? there you go again. Actually I don't have a thing for virgins, when I made that comment I was thinking of times at the Vietnamese Embassy. Of course they only let the most beautiful and intelligent Viet models hostess their parties and more than a few times I was set up with "dates" with them.
Kind of a funny story, A divisional head of Police (equivalent to the FBI in the U.S.) offered his quite attractive 17 year old daughter to me for possible marriage. Needless to say I politely turned him down. Hell of a nice guy to drink beer with, but he has a reputation of "losing" his crime suspects.
Like many Viet Kieu guys you seem to have a deeply hidden grudge against white Americans, and I can appreciate and understand that for reasons I won't go into details here. We both seem to be married to perfect women but still choose to fuck around, so instead of talking about our differences I'd rather talk about the ways we are alike.

Love Vietnam
"I think in fact you probably have only spent very little time actually living in Vietnam (hotels don't count), so please don't try to pretend you know what you are talking about."
SO true LOL!
Horndog,
You REALLY need to go to Indonesia, the Philippines and/or Thailand. I bet you dollars to donuts you will revise your thinking on how attractive (and friendly) VN women are. The highest incidence of severe acne of ANY nationality I've seen, coupled with this obsession with keeping their skin as White as possible, is NOT attractive IMHO. If you only have women in the US and HK to compare them to, then I COMPLETELY understand. If you are sdtill convinced VN girls are tops, then I suggest you go to Cambodia where their attitudes are better and their prices lower.
Thanks Surfer,
I will visit the other Asian countries one day. Had a chance to visit Bangkok for a week but my friend's kid got sick and we had to cancel.
I like the girls that are white or a little tanned than the one with dark tanned skin, just my preference. Covering their face and body with clothing will prevent skin cancer. A friend told me many years ago that he ran into a pretty burnette that we partied with when we were teenagers. He said she looked old than her age because her face looked like leather- burned by the California sun. Is it not also a caste or society status to be more whiter in Asian like in India or in Thailand with the Issan girls and the whiter Thai girls? It is kind of funny that the Asian girls want to be more whiter and the Caccasian girls want the tanned skin. One night at a karokee bar, a sexy karokee girl was telling me in sign language that our skin colour was the same. I, who also shun the sun wanted to tell her that we should merge our skin together at the hotel but she was not the take-out dinner type. Had a appointment later (that is another story)with a SP who had the most sexiest, friendly smile I ever seen. I have had alot of fun with massage girls, SWs and in-house SPs, but, there was something about this SP/girl that I think about her every night. Could be her smile, her country girl innocent or the girlfriend experience. I am going to try to keep in touch with her, help her out in life.
Acne-could be the heat/sweat, the pollution, the hot sauces/food.
Surfer,
You might change your mind about the Saigon babes if you saw the stunners we met during the early hours of Christmas day. My friend and I were heading back to our hotel when he started to talk to three Viet guys. One was a well known Saigon singer, next thing you know, hotel staff set up a table on the sidewalk and the Heineken beer started flowing at 3 in the morning. Two girls arrived and joined two of the other guys, nice looking. Then, another one showed up in a scooter, then another and another. Each one was more beautiful and hotter than the previous one. Short mini-skirts, bleached blond hair, the Viet sexy face, my friend said they looked like Asian barbie dolls. We were tired at 5 a.m., myself from earlier fun with a 19 year old M.C. girl, did not ask them to the hotel room. They got on their scooters and roared down the street. Slim bodies, hair flying in the wind, babes on bikes, so hot. I had to say WOW. I love Vietnam.

Having lived in US for a while, I somewhat understand American more than my own people. In case you don't know, not only Viet Kieu but many (not all) other Asians including East Indian, Taiwanese, born & raised in-USA Asians also hold grudge against white American. And if you look further to other countries like Canada, Europe, you may see the same resentment which has something to do with the arrogant and egocentric attitude many white American possess.
You are the exception to the norm and nobody here in this forum that I've known has such super status in anywhere else. You are doing the Vietnamese a favor and it is their turn to return the favor. In the Viet mind you are the superior that they must try to please. The main reason probably is just the huge rich and poor gap between Viet and US, Viet and American more than anything else.
-
James Tran
I have never considered myself to have super status in Vietnam and I certainly don't think I am any better than anyone I come into contact with in Vietnam. I like to think I earned their trust and friendship that now goes beyond who has money and who doesn't. I do business here because I love Vietnam and I try to give back as much as I take. I can't help where I was born, all I can do is try to prove that not all Americans are self centered assholes. In case you are wondering, I am too young to have anything to do with the war so that has nothing to do with it.
In the 1990's when I was involved with helping to change the trading status during the Congressional hearings, It was not just Vietnam vets but mostly former South Vietnamese who tried to block our efforts. For several reasons I too have contempt for many people in the Vietnamese government, but just like what we are doing to Cuba now, we were only hurting the common population.
Peace and I hope you have a great New Year.

This country still has a long way to go but I believe the younger generation is gradually taking charge. It is sad to see that many important meetings the only party still invites old dogs like Le Kha Phieu, Do Muoi, etc to join and give crappy blessings. Oh how I hate these old farts.... they continue destroying the country even in their retirement. :( The communist party (CP) is completely out of touch with the people it represents. I think the reason the VN vets and South Vietnamese opposed your effort because they wanted these folks and the CP out, which was an impossible precondition.
Happy new year to you, too. One day you and I will drink beer together in a KTV bar in VN and we can talk about how beautiful life is. Thank you for helping VN to become a better nation. Many homeless orphans in VN I've just heard are needing help and support in the coming lunar new year and I'd dare to ask if you can use your priviledge to help them. The government is ignoring them and I do not know whom to trust to send money to.

Info on Hue?
I'll be Hue for a couple days, and am wondering if anyone has tips? Will be with a Vietnamese business associate, but don't know if he's inclined to partake. Any info appreciated.

Hue City
I'll be Hue for a couple days, and am wondering if anyone has tips? Will be with a Vietnamese business associate, but don't know if he's inclined to partake. Cyclo operators will offer to take you to "massage lady" and "lady bars" but most prove very disappointing and with a high element of risk if you are on your own with limited Vn language skills. Good massages are available at the Huong Giang and Festival (Dong Da) hotels with HJs for an extravagant extra Vn300-400,000. The Huong Giang provides room service massages (unusual for Vn) and one of their girls was 2 years ago offering FS options. However it is very much the luck of the draw who you get.

Good thoughts. My friend/his family and I are sending money to his relatives this month so they buy rice (greatly needed) and and take it to the local orphanage. He said not to give money which could go missing. We had a chance on our last day in Vietnam to do this but we were so busy. These poor kids with no parents will likely live their life in poverty. There is no social assistance, welfare, food stamps or any other help for them. The only way out for the lucky ones is:
1) To be adopted by a wealthy family
2) Sponsered to go to a higher education by a special charity, funded by rich pooners?
3) Adopted by Angelina Jolie (a beautiful, sexy woman with a good heart)
Donating: Ask the hotel staff, taxi drivers, tourism guides where the orphanages are located and take personally take the rice and anything else you think they need. Even if you can not do it now, go see them when you visit next time, they will probably need it more.
Happy Lunar New Year to all.

Thanks, Felgot. As it turns out, I stayed at Huong Giang, and did partake of the massage services. I must say I was unimpressed, but that could very well be the luck of the draw, as you put it.
However, I did enjoy sitting at the Riverside Bar and watching the sunset with a cold ba ba ba beer. ;^)
Cheers

Horn Dog,
As Vietnam is one of my favorite countries of the dozen or so that I travel to on a regular basis, I will take your suggestion to heart - great idea! Thank you.
Unfortunately, I will miss Tet (working in London of all places), but I plan to be back sometime in February.
Cheers

Halong City?
Does anyone have any tips for Halong City? I've heard that this is a good mongering site (as well as being close to an UNESCO site, something to do during the day).

Prior to that, I spent some nice grope time in a karaoke place, where I feel sure one could have negotiated some take out. Sorry, but the names of the places are gone from my notes.
The full service massage was about US$25, attractive girl, mid 20s.

IMHO, If you plan on visiting one of the many orphanages. Than a good on you. Its great to take time to help others. I never give cash. Instead I bring juice and milk, individual size. And when I visit to see the children, I hang them out directly to the kids. That way I know where it goes. Don't mean to be a prude but even some commodities get taken home by their handlers. Though it is not a bad thing as many of them are living near or in poverty themselves.
