TJ Hotel Recommendations?
I generally post in the Mexico City section; but will have the pleasure of being in TJ for four days soon. Any recommendations on low rent, but safe, clean, and possibly even quiet, chica friendly hotels near the street action? Thanks, ML

Hey Munch,
On my last visit to TJ I noticed a hotel across the street from La Tropez Bar (about one block east of the main action area) called Hotel Hacienda de Santiago. I've never been a guest there but the place looked new, so I walked into the lobby to see what they charged for a single. They wanted $44 for per night for a single, and as I expected, the looby looks newly built or rebuilt. Already having purchased a room on the US side, I simply noted the place as a poosible place to stay the next time in town. However, I did ask a couple of the locals about the place. What I was told is that the hotel is only about six months old, with very clean rooms, and supposedly guest (girl) friendly. I do not have a map of the Zona Norte, otherwise I'd tell you exactly the intersection where the place is located. But any cab driver or any of the local people in the ZN should be able to tell you where it is. If you do decide to spend a night there, please tell us about your experience. Being a poor working slob, I can only visit TJ once or twice a year.
Good Luck!
