Staying at Hotel Diana Plus
I stayed at Diana Plus last March. The room I had was in a different elevator bank than the rooms used by Whiskeria Estark. I figured out how to access the club via the Whiskeria elevator bank and thus figured out how to defeat the 10 Euro drink price (I bought a bottle of rum in Madrid and then bought some cokes and ice at the gas station next to the hotel). For an American, paying (at the time $15 and now $12. 50) for a drink is rediculous. The pussy is cheap but the drink tab can add up. It was a good move for me, however, it sounds like you need to request a room in the opposite wing from Estark.
Hotels / Flats for rent in Madrid
I am planning on coming down to Madrid on Thursday for a week or two, or maybe longer if I like it. I've only been there a couple of times on flight stopovers overnight, so I am not too familiar with the city at all.
Firstly, can anyone tell me a good area to find a decent cheap hotel, not necessarily in the centre. maybe there is a particular area full of reasonably priced hotels ? I have not had too much luck online finding something. Secondly, I might stay longer and rent a furnished flat, similarly are there any good local websites for flats for rent short term ? Would appreciate any help on this !!
