Mexico made me buy the 6 month pass the other day.
They MADE you buy the 6 month FMM? This is total bullshit information! You have a choice of buying the 6 month FMM OR getting the less than 7 days FMM.
For free.
Your creditable completely sucks on this site!

I park by Border Village dr and walk down. If I am heading back at night after 8 pm then I take Uber.
I also agree that driving across isn't really worth it. It doesn't save much time compared to walking across, especially if you park at a lot right near jack in the box ($8 weekdays. More for weekend).
The time it will take you to walk across (10-15 min) from one of those lots compared to waiting in line to drive into (5-9 pm always traffic going into Mexico) or out of Mexico (always a wait to drive back into the states. There's hardly ever a line to walk across and to come back its quick esp if you come back at night there's no wait because there's more lanes open now.
I've done both and walking across is much smoother and less stressful.
Why open yourself to all the risks associated with driving a car into Mexico (accidents with uninsured drivers, you need to buy Mexican insurance, you might get pulled over by Olivia for bribes, someone could mess with or steal your car) when you should be catching a cab to HK anyway.
Driving a car into Zona Norte with Califorbia plates is just asking to get pulled over.
I used to just drive across, park my car somewhere, and catch an uber to HK. But have switched to walking across for all of the reasons mentioned.

They MADE you buy the 6 month FMM? This is total bullshit information! Perhaps there is a limit of how many crossings are allowed without purchase of the 6-month tourist card.
On Tuesday there was no line, they scanned my passport, no paperwork, no delay, no stamp. On Wednesday there was a 20 minute line for foreigners, so I got my passport stamped, paid the $30, and did a little paperwork so I could cross for 6 months using my new 6-month tourist card in the Mexican line.
I told the desk agent that I would be crossing on almost a daily basis. The 7-day pass was never mentioned to me.

The free 7-day FMM pass.
Looks like Mexico's Immigration agents at San Ysidro would hide the free 7-day FMM and steer visitors to the $30 six-month FMM. That's a lot of money that may not go into Mexico's treasury, but may be looted by local big guys and spent wildly on HK's putas every night.
Somebody with balls should insist on the free 7-day FMM and refuse to back down unless offered by these crooked guys. If they refuse to comply with their laws, take down some names, facts, witnesses and complain to Mexico's federal government.
Don't let your asses get fucked by Mexico's lowly government clerks.

So you would have to repeat the process every time to cross into Mexico. There are no limits to crossing with the 6 month FMM. So you you are crossing multiple times, to save time, it is better to pay for the 6 month FMM.
It's even easier with the passport card. I received mine in less than two weeks.
-
Yes If you come often the 6 month pass is the way to go.
And in most cases the 6 month pass turns into an 8 or 9 month pass. Because if anyone bothers to check your pass and sees the 180 days that's all they look for.
Math is hard for some of them and they usually can't figure out that it is expired.

The 7 day visa is good for 7 days, not just one entry. When I make my trips, I usually spend some time north of the border as well. When I return into Mexico later in the day, once I have that 7-day pass, I go through the Mexican line, show them the visa and they wave me through. They definitely don't mistake me for a Mexican. LOL.
I too don't understand how they made Porsche pay for the 6 month. I'm sure they have some record and maybe there were multiple hits over a set time. Maybe 1 month? Don't know, not my concern.
But just want to share for anyone that crosses back and forth for a short time. The unexpired visa does not have to be replaced every entry.
I too don't understand how they made Porsche pay for the 6 month.
Well, if he initially stated 8 days or longer when asked about the duration of his stay, they could very well have forced him to buy the 6 month visa or turned him away completely.
-
Silly question, but does the 6 month visa get you back into the US?

Migrants caravan update
Migrants caravan update. They are tired in Mexico City, and they want buses to the US border. It looks like they want to get to the border crossing in McAllen Texas because it is closest (600 miles) IMO Tijuana is too far away link https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6366177/Caravan-members-Mexico-debate-options-route- US-border. Bring your passport to get into USA. I've been told that USA citizens will be let back into USA without a passport, but it's a pain in the ass.
