David and Negro seem to agree here
The Latin American saying "eyes don´t see, hearts don´t feel" (sounds better in Spanish), doesn´t only apply to wives who as long as their husband´s extra curricular activities aren´t in their faces tend to pretend that nothing is happening can also be related to families with girls who are doing P4P in another town. They know what´s going on, but would never admit or speak about it.
Seems to me you guys are both right. Many women, anywhere in the world, are looking to get more (emotionally/economically) from a man as the relationship progresses. Just like many men are looking to get more (sexually/emotionally) as the relationship progresses. There are exceptions as Negro points out, esp. when a woman is not motivated by the short-term to be as aggressive as she is when she has a foreigner that is only in town for two weeks/two months at a time.
David is correct, most women who do sex work wouldn't broadcast that fact. Even Elliott Spitzer's jump-off didn't tell her family how she could afford that fab lifestyle. So even though a woman may not be telling the 10 y.o. "sweety mommy sucked dick like a champ to get you these Air Jordans," grandma probably figured out that being a hairdresser/hotel waitress is not paying $800-1000 USD per week in the DR. But "ask me no questions, I tell you no lies."
Hodelpa (both Gran Almirante & Centro Plaza)
Girl Hunter Sorry for the Delay... (I always start with IMHO and YMMV but here's MY take on the HODELPA'S)
Centro Plaza is on El Sol a few blocks south of the Monumento de Restauracion (maybe 8 or 9 blocks)
Prices are between $98.00 USD to $145.00 (more for a Large Suite) depending on HOW you book, WHEN etc. Rooms have AC/HW/Mini bar-fridge that you get a key for with no charge (unless you lose it).
I brought in the SAME girl for 3 days in and out without a second look.
I saw Gringos with (and this is not a Dis but most guys will understand) More PRO looking girls (HEAVY makeup, Scantily clad etc) but I didn't see them hassled either.
Gran Almirante I stayed there twice...Enjoyed both times...There is/was construction of what I think is going to be a "FRIDAY'S" next door so I think the area is coming up.
Rooms are $118.00 to $3-400 for top suites with concierge service...I stayed 2 different times for around $140.00 usd. Breakfast is good and they'll SOMETIMES give you vouchers but you have to INSIST when you book.
The Casino has PROS that mill about and gamble...just strike up a conversation after you observe eye contact and body language OR someone dressed like (come F*ck me)...There is always a Security guy at the door that leads from Casino to Inside the Hotel (at the Restaurant side) and I don't know if they'll let you through with a PRO...but if you get to know the DESK people...I think it would be better to walk out of the Casino STREET exit and then back into the main lobby, give a lil' wave to the desk and be on your way.
One night a female Mgr on Duty made me come down to get my girl who I had been with for more than one day...I came down and asked her why and she "claimed" that the FLOOR security guys wouldn't have let her up...Who Knows...but I haven't had any MAJOR problems.
I'm actually curious as to what would happen if you showed up with a different PRO nightly...
I would stay at The Gran Almirante AND Centro Plaza again...BUT as I previously posted I found some MEAGER (3500 DOP a week accomadations and no longer WANT to spend $140-160 usd when I can get along with Hot water/a bed and not much else...lol)
I actually like Blackjack 21 and do visit the Gran Almirante everytime I'm there...he ganado cada vez.
I said YMMV in ALL of these matters AND I'm a Santiago OPTIMIST so because I found cool stuff it's hard to EVER have a bad word to say...it's my personality as well but the girls and experiences have been VERY positive for me.
If your into fitness there is a gym nearby (you could actually walk if you wanted 10-15 minutes) Golds is in Centro Plaza for 250 dop a day (which strangely enough is nowhere near DOWNTOWN centro)
McDonalds and KFC are within walking distance and a Grocery Store for regular supplies.
If your Spanish is decent you'll have a ball, adopt a taxista (meaning use the same one every trip) and you may get extra info/tips...they all line up on the Casino Side of the Hotel.
Enjoy, Be smart, Be safe!
