Patong Beach: It's not a long way to India! -- Part 1
After three dry seasons living a monastic life on an island in southern Thailand, I finally made a sojourn to Phuket. My main mission was to visit an old bar girl friend from Soi 33, along with a sub-plot of having a little fun away from the "Mrs." Getting there was easy. It was a non-eventful ferryboat ride from Koh Lanta with a short stopover in Koh Phi Phi. Caught a moto-si taxi (250 baht) from the ferry port to Patong town, and checked into a very comfortable 1300 baht room at Le Tan Jong House, which a fellow ISG member had recommended.
About 9pm, I moseyed over to the bar where my friend works on Bangla Rd. -- the Stockholm Bar on Soi Lion -- barfined her and her bartender "sister," and went to dinner at Baa Buakao Restaurant on Soi Patong Tower. We had an excellent meal washed down with a couple of bottles of wine. As we were the last customers, the owner bought us a round of brandies and sat and talked with us about her business. By then it was midnight and we wandered back to Soi Lion. It was quite funny walking arm-in-arm with two very tipsy Thai women -- one a very petite Isaan spinner and the other a zaftig Chaing Rai beauty -- weaving our way through the scene on Bangla Rd.
Back at the Stockholm Bar...things were hoppin'. There were about a half dozen coyote dancers workin' it hard on top of the bar and the liquor was flowing. Quite the scene on Soi Lion where the working girls outnumbered customers by about 2.5:1. I would definitely check this spot out late night while in Patong if nothing else but for the girls dancing.
I took my little drunk spinner friend back to the guesthouse around 1am, and honestly don't remember much else until the morning when we revisited old ground together on a very comfortable bed. After a half-hearted romp down Memory Lane, I went out early to see Patong, find some strong coffee, and snap a few photos. I let the little gal sleep until 1pm (still a little early to wake up a bar girl).
Patong is a three ring circus, both day and night. Seems that there's at least one or two of every strange creature there -- the Noah's Ark of mankind. All in all, for a quiet island dweller like myself, the first 20 or so hours was very entertaining. Lots of pretty women (Thai and others flavors), good food, an entertaining beach scene, and of course, 24/7 mongering on tap...all with an ocean view of India! (...to be continued)
Patong Beach: It's not a long way to India! -- Part 2
...all with an ocean view of India!
I posted the meat of Part 2 in the Bangkok Thread here: http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=846831&postcount=5194
It seemed to fit well enough with a discussion of taking women from bars with no intention of having sex.
In the end, a little over 36 hours in Patong proved to be entertaining, fun and tiring...as the good life should be! It was nice to get back to the quiet island pace, though.
Can anyone recommend a girl-friendly 5* hotel?
I am in Phuket right now and I would highly recommend to you the Rayaburi hotel. www.rayaburiphuket.com I am in a deluxe room. The rooms are small but the service is excellent, along with the location, and the cleanliness. You also get complimentry wi fi, and breakfast. It is a boutique hotel but the amenities are first class. There is not a better restaurant around than the one at this hotel. In my book it cannot be beat. 2900 baht a night is the rate I got. I might add that it is a new hotel so very few taxi drivers even know where it is located. FYI it is a 10 minute walk to Bangla Rd, and a great walk at that passing all the action along the way, and it is about a block and half from the beach. I might add that they do charge a 1000 baht charge for a girl brought back to your room, unless she was registered at the time of checkin.
