Thanks Merlin, I think I'm going to try them.
Do you know what the going rate is? Is the first quote they tell you negotiable? Is BBBJ on the menu?

Evan Escence,
Have you posted your experiences about Buenos Aires in the Argentina forum?
Always good to hear the experiences of first-timers. Glad you enjoyed it!

London-related question:
What would be the best high-class strip club to go to in London along with a lady friend? She's always wanted to visit one, and honestly I don't have a clue about the London strip club scene.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Uncle Otto
Jimmy Red Cap,
I was at Glow yesterday (sunday). There was one east european girl and one spanish girl working. I chose the Tcheque girl. She did the job without any enthusiasm. CBJ and french kissing but without passion. Creaking bed. Scandal babes is far superior. They might be more expensive. But at Glow they want and try convince you to chose one hour session which costs 120 pounds. The same thing costs 150 at scandalbabes. But in a beautiful apartment in the best par of london plus shower before and after. Also real GFE experience. Before you know it, the girl has her tongue in your mouth. The kisses linger in your mouth a long time after. On punter net field reports there was a review about Glow but it disappeared and now the site says the agency faked the reports. I don't understand how they could do this.

Otto,
I'd probably recommend Stringfellows though I haven't been for a while. Everything's done in the best possible taste and you might even get to meet the man himself. Or even Chris Quinten.
I haven't been to Spearmint Rhino since it was ticked off for excessive raunch (unfortunately!) but that might also be a good place to go.
There's also a For Your Eyes Only in White Horse Street just off Shepherds Market but I haven't been inside.
If you want to compare high class with something a bit lower down the scale then you could try a quick visit to the Flying Scotsman in Kings Cross (kidding, it's a dump)
Cheers
Steve
PS,
Stringfellows is in St Martins Lane (joins Trafalgar Square but it's at the other end)
Spearmint Rhino is in Tottenham Court Road between Warren and Goodge Street (other side of the road)

Hi Uncle,
I would suggest the Astral club on 5 Brewer Street in Soho.
Nice upmarket, good decor and hot girls. I remember when it opened about 5 years ago. Great atmosphere especially with a ladyfriend.
Stringfellows is ok but only as I know Peter and his brother pretty well but it is a tourist attraction more than anything else but good when you have a ladyfriend.
Check out and Astral. I am sure you will like it.

I don't think you're missing anything - I think the strip scene in London is as sterile as you perceive.
The strip clubs aren't really my scene, but my understanding is that the "look don't touch" rules are pretty strictly enforced. With the clubs in central London, the police and Westminster Council are looking for reasons to fine and shut them down. To be honest they bigger clubs like Spearmint Rhino are pulling in so much money they don't want to jeopordise their licence with the girls pulling extras for peanuts - I know someone who does business with one of the big club owners and the "legitimate" money they're making is frightening. I've seen the crowds that the Shoreditch places pull and I don't think they need to risk such a cash cow by tolerating the girls breaking the rules. I hear rumours about the bigger clubs and the extras on offer, but to be honest I think it is more of a high rollers thing - even if something's on offer I think it would involve serious cash.
Some of the smaller pubs that do strip shows will sometimes offer something more for a bit, but word gets around so quickly that invariably the places will be shut down really quickly - it's an easy bust for the police and wherever the strip clubs are there's a residence association wanting it shut. Easy PR for the police and the local rag.
If you read any of the strip boards or local punting boards you'll rarely hear anyone who has first hand experience of a venue which is as full on as you get in most places abroard in London - someone may know someone, who heard something, but it's rarely a direct experience.
I think the scene may be more liberal and interesting outside of London, especially outside of the bigger towns and cities.
For Otto.I think the best one to take female friend woud be Stringfellows. This is where I took a lady friend of mine when I was visiting London and wanted her to go with me.Its classy, slightly expensive but not that high, and is most often frequented by British pop star Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell of American Idol Fame.I have been told by the bouncers that a lot of the cast members of "Neighbors"(I have no idea what that is) frequent the place as well.It looked like it had a great clientel. Lots of upper class people along with a lot of rich Indian docotors spending a lot of money here.Classy clientele, and great girls.I think this will change most girls idea of a strip club being shallow.
Thank you Bono and thank you Evan for your PM.
It appears the consensus of you to blokes is "Stringfellows."
And I am never one to disregard the advice of the local experts. :D

Snowy,
Thanks, I thought so.
To be honest my career as a monger started out in the strip clubs, tried a couple of massage parlours (one on the Chalk farm road, Camden, and Bel-Air in West Hampstead) and was a bit disappointed as the service was indifferent. Then I went backpacking and discovered Thailand, and life was never the same :-D
IMHO, the reason prices are so damn high in London (for lap-dancing dammit...no touching!) is that (a) as you say the extras aren't legit and to compound it (b) its bloody difficult to get laid without paying for it (and before anyone says it, I don't have too much trouble outside London, or for that matter outside the UK)! There's this whole lot of pent up demand just waiting to spill out (OK, maybe a bit too graphic there!), and us guys are the ones being exploited (albeit somewhat willingly), paying over the odds and still leaving the club frustrated!
Methinks I need to spread my wings and keep looking. Or maybe a business plan may present itself.
And by the way, if you do go to Stringfellows, just remember...take enough cash with you. If you run out early, and you want to stay, they have a 'Heavenly Money' option, where you pay by card and they give you vouchers which you can use in place of cash, only problem is that you will have to pay 20% extra. The club levies you 10% of your cash advance, and as it charges the girls 10% to convert their heavenly money into cash too, they end up passing the cost on to you!! So it works out a lot more expensive!
Yeah Stringy's is a damn fine place. I once saw Piers Morgan (ex-editor of the Daily Mirror) there. Stringy himself is almost establishment these days. Gotta give the old boy credit!
Shoreditch Strip Clubs
To the left of Browns (coming from Liverpool St.) there used to be a small strip pub called The Spreadeagle.
The last time I was in the area I walked into what I can only describe as a ghost pub - the whole place had been gutted yet there was nothing to stop you walking in from the street. What was going on? I have to say it wasn't much worse than when it was in full swing, only fewer punters and strippers.
Has anything happened in the meantime? I'm in exile in 'stralia at the moment and had a look in my old stomping ground's forum for old times' sake, nostalgic fool that I am. Just wondering if it was worth having a look there the next time I'm in town.
While I'm at it - is Stratford Sauna as rough as ever?
Cheers geezas,
Vaugan.
Thanks to all the advice given regarding strip clubs in the Shoreditch area.
With some extra time on my hands one evening, I decided to go and check out the scene on this side of London.
I have never been there, so took the tube and landed at the Aldgate station. For some reasons the Shoreditch station was closed that evening, so I have to walk a little.
Turned out to be quite a good walk up the Whitechapel Road and then on to Commercial Street.
I did come across a strip bar on 19th Whitechapel Road, Sam's Bar. It has exoctic dancing neon sign by the door.
Walked in and it is a rather small place with a stage, saw two girls, one was dancing nude on stage. I would rate her a 6 on my scale. No entry fee, 10 Pounds for a lap dance. About 6 to 7 guys there. I stayed there a bit, and left, wanting to find the other places. So, this place is not dangerous, no bouncer or pimps, seems quite easy going if one wants to just hang out ( no pun intended ) and watch the show.
So continue up the Commercial Street, I came across the Spitafields Market, and this is quite an active place in the evening, lots of younger crowds (more locals) and maybe students eating and drinking in bars and outdoor cafes.
Some quite good looking women can be found in this area. I have to come back next time on a longer stay to check this area out.
I somehow lost my orientation, and ended up east of Commercial street on a street , Brick Lane. Saw a lot of middle eastern ( Indian and Bangaladash ) restaurants. Food sure looks good, and you can smell the aroma from the street. Seems like quite a few tourist eating here. I end up at a Bangaladash restaurant called Sheba Tandoori Restaurant at 136 Brick Lane. Got the set dinner, very nice and tasty, and quite inexpensive, two dish for 6 pounds.
After dinner, I walked past Ten Bells (some once suggested earlier). It is now just a bar, lots of people drinking and spilling out to the street, but no strip dancing any more.
I decided to call it a night, prominsing to come back next time to explore this area further on my hunt for more strip joints on this east side of London.
Thanks to all the gents for your info on this forum. The sharing of experience and information really make this forum interesting and worthwhile.

The Spread Eagle no longer has strippers (it stopped about a year ago?), though it is still open as a pub.
