Apparantly they had a small fire last weekend but didn't seem like a big deal. I foresee a very merry christmas for the mongers in Ghana.
And a happy new year!
Anybody found any cheap hotel one could use for a couple of hours a night?

Quick question for the experienced guys. Where would you advise to go in Ghana for some quality non pro action? Have been searching in vain and would welcome any handy hints.
Happy xmas

The best answer is "everywhere." Go to upscale hotels and sit in the lobby. Go to the restaurants or just stroll on the streets. You can meet normal women all over the place, and all you need to do is smile a bit and start talking. As others have indicated, the lines dividing pros, semi-pros and normal are fine indeed and are shifting constantly.
Another good idea is to frequently some of the more upscale shops, and look for sales girls and/or customers that appeal to you. Aklternatively, you could cruise the University campus and meet more women in an hour than you would have thought possible.

I've spent several periods in Ghana, had no shots (except the mandatory Yellow Fever), took no pills, used no mosquito nets, screwed lots of ladies, used no condoms, visited many areas, ate and drank everything with never a problem but maybe I have a super-strong immune system!
Your "super strong" immune system has been lucky despite your imprudence. No immune system is going to protect you from Malaria, Cholera, Dengue Fever or HIV. Eventually, even in Russian Roulette, one day you're going to happen on a chamber that's loaded. It's the same thing in Ghana, and it only takes one time.
I hope your luck continues to be good, but there's nothing wrong with being careful at the same time.

Mr Cool,
If you can't find any non-pro action, you are not in Ghana. In fact, you are no where near the continent of Africa.
Never though I'd sampled this in Accra. Boxing Day Special !
Hey Guys. This is Q in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I am an accountant very interested in finding a travel buddy going to Ghana in the next three months. If you would like a good friend who can also watch your back, hit me with a message. This will be my first trip to Ghana and I would like to hook up with someone who knows their way around.

GE
GE, don't be so hard with OleJoe.
If I recognize OleJoe right from his earlier writings (I think there is a Ghana report in the archives of this site from the historic Atta times, http://www.*************.org/ghana_bits.txt.html ), then probably, he doesn't need to worry much about HIV, and using condoms :) . Considering his age (70+(?)), contracting AIDS won't shorten much his projected life expectancy, but going bareback will increase the enjoyment of what he has left to live, for sure. :):):)
If OleJoe is really the guy that wrote the report I mentioned, then I can only salute him of still being active monger at this age. Probably all of us will want to be that able, on becoming senior citizens.
But, of course, for us, the younger guys, using condoms is a good practice.
Hi,
I would like to go to Ghana in the following months. I plan to go to Accra. As I read on this section, every hotel is girl friendly until you behave decently in the lobby.
Does anybody knows about a nice hotel, not expensive (not more than 50 dollas a night) with a swimming pool in Accra (in a neighborhood, where there is some "action", so maybe downtown, preferably, if rather safe).
Is Accra a enjoyable city to walk around (I like to walk in a city and pick up amateur girls in the streets)? Is it near the beach?
My contributions are in the Morrocco and Cameroon sections. So you can see what I will bring as nice photos from my trip in Accra.
Thanks in advance
Be careful of a trip to Ghana given your wonderful pictures as immigration and the police can easily be informed of your activities. Ghana is full of ladies but be very careful. A word to the wise is enough as they say.
Accra is not a great walking city, and the action is fairly spread out around town. If I were you, I would not plan on using my feet as a primary mode of transport. Taxis abound all over the place, and fares are ridiculously cheap. Be sure however, to negotiate beforehand. Before I started to drive there, I also got into the habit, especially at night, of hiring a car and driver for a few hours. Just find a cabbie you like, or ask one of the people working at your hotel and you should have no problem.
Another alternative, after you'v'e been there for a couple of days is to rent a car. You can easily find an air conditioned vehicle for $15-$20 a day. True, you will get lost frequently, but you can find your way around after a short while.
I'm afraid I cannot help you much on the hotels. It's been a couple of years, and I can no longer remember the names, but you should have no problem finding a place for $30-$40 a night, with a pool.
Have fun and be safe.

To Coupe66 (given you can not receive private emails, I don't know why).
The sites where you can find tons of hot Cameroonese girls are:

I think you can put an ad in english (but I am not sure).
It's also quite simple to meet French-speaking girls in Ghana. I too speak French and there are not so many French speakers in Accra, so you will find, when you meet a group of Francophone women there, you more or less have the field to yourself. There are several clubs where the French-speakers congregate, and these change from month to month, but they're easy to find by asking any taxi driver.
I met lots of women from Cote d'Ivoire, Tchad, Cameroun, and Benin while I was there, and had a French-speaking girlfriend for a time. Most of the girls I met were students who had been sent by their parents to Accra to learn English. Some however, were refugees fleeing one or another conflict-affected country.
