Zona Rosa is one of the nighlife areas of Bogota (restaurants, dance clubs, etc.).
Or it used to be a nightlife area. They have basically torn the dance clubs down and built stores. Pissed me off because one of the spots I would frequent was one of the only places in Bogota open and with a crowd on New Years Eve. There are still a couple of bars left though and of course restaurants as you have said.
PS There are about 5 or 6 girl joints around the edge of the zona rosa (on Carrera 15 and Calle 86a I think). These are basically clipjoints, although you can have fun if you are careful and not too drunk.
One man's clip joint is another man's paradise. Those same places that you are mentioning as clip joints, I keep seeing people post about and being happy with the offerings. For me, if a beer is costing me 20K pesos or I have to pay the place an exit fee of 100K then it is a clip joint. Others seems to be fine with this though.

Bogota plans
I'm trying to justify a trip to Bogota, it's about $200 more than CR or DR for me to fly there but I'm wondering if that is made up with cheaper hotels or what the scene in general is like there. I really like Tijuana and Costa Rica. I like something open all day long, I didn't really love the set up at the DR and Philippines. They were cheaper but still I don't like going out so late. I'm wondering if Bogota has around the clock type service, average cost of a girl for the night, and price for a nice hotel. Tijuana is the only place I've found with a nice hotel room for under $100. And yes I'm always a cheap bastard, but even more so when I am only flying for the weekend. Thanks for any help!

Cheap bastard LOL!

Thanks for any help!
Yeah don't spend the loot. From what you have posted it does not sound like a good fit IMO. The BEST spots in Bogota open at night (Juan Pablos, Mansion, Pasina, Ottos) they open early like 8ish but when you go that early the girls just want you to finish and be gone so they can get the next chump lined up. So it's not "sexy" IMO, rather rushed. I too don't like to be out too late and this is first hand experience in Colombia and in Argentina. Those clubs run till much later as you could expect and for the entire night? Well it depends, from my experiences and what I've read on this board you have to be out at a spot till like 2ish 3ish AM (you already said you don't like being out this late) and depending on you, the girl, your connection, her going rate. $200COP-$400ish COP. If you have decent Spanish Skills (Don't fool yourself, You need Decent Spanish Skills in Colombia, this is not CR, DR, Peru or Argentina) and a cell phone you can arrange a longer date with a girl at a day time spot for all night. You can get a "rub and tug" at a few of the massage places in the day time for like $30K-$120K depending on the spot and level of service.
Nice Hotel? We all have different standards for nice. I"m easy, cable TV, mini fridge, strong wi fi, and my stuff not get fucked with is "nice" to me! LOL.
Do you want nice by US / Canada / EU standards? I don't stay at those spots. $100-$150 USD is par. There is a hotel topic if you scroll down the main page a bit.

Otherwise Santa Fe does sound appealing.

Actually they keep the plane at about the same pressure as Bogota's (8,612 ft) altitude.
"The cabin altitude of an aircraft planning to cruise at 40, 000 ft (12, 000 m) is programmed to rise gradually from the altitude of the airport of origin to around a maximum of 8, 000 ft (2, 400 m) and to then reduce gently during descent until it matches the ambient air pressure of the destination.
A typical cabin altitude, such as the Boeing 767's, is maintained at 6, 900 feet (2, 100 m) when cruising at 39, 000 feet (12, 000 m)." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_pressurization

Damn now that's a seasoned monger to be thinking altitude, I feel like I just went up a rank. Slamcity I have to say I am a bit confused, how is DR, Costa Rica, and Tijuana harder to get by with out spanish? Or are you talking strictly with the girls? When I'm walking around the city in San Jose nobody knows a lick of english there. I guess Tijuana is hit or miss, really good english or none at all. But I can't imagine Colombia being that different from San Jose or DR in terms of english speaking. I have this little trick I started doing which the girls also find cute for some reason, my spanish is similar to a 2-3 year olds. They don't speak fast to their kids just like we don't speak fast to ours, so I tell who ever I'm talking to that they need to speak to me like I'm a 2 year old and I get by just fine. Otherwise unless they're from Spain all spanish is too damn fast for me. I think I'm just going to have to pull the trigger and give Bogota a try, I've had really bad luck with Colombians but by far they are totally my type. I always hate going to Del Rey seeing a fucking smoking hot chick and going over only to find out she's colombian and then me saying have a good night. My experiences with them have been that bad. I'm thinking or hoping in their own country it will be different. I feel like every guy likes the ability to hit a strip club at 9am if the mood so strikes him, I don't get why these countries mix party / clubbing with selling sex. Not to mention the best way to get rid of that hang over in the morning is a nice cold beer, and what better place to do it than a strip club, or del rey, or my personal favorite Zona Blue which hopefully HLH hasn't totally destroyed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_pressurization
Commercial airplanes rarely fly at 39 or 40. 000 ft because they are too heavy for that altitude carrying the fuel and passengers. Especially in long haul flights.
Normal altitudes being 31-37. 000 ft in most cases. Eg A full load B-747 flight from SINgapore to Europe would start at 28.000 ft ending up to 35.000.
When in Bogota, Jobo, Mexico city etc I used to take an aspirin a day for that altitude problem. They have some other pills too. Simply ask at a local pharhacy shop.
The problems is worst for a smoker.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_pressurization
I know that you are totally qualified to answer this question. Can you explain to me why I won't have trouble in Bogota if I did in Quito? The difference is roughly 1000ft. Remember I come to party not just walk around.
During my 2 three week stays in Quito I never did get back to "normal". Although I did improve gradually. Sex was a challenge. Especially since good BJs are hard to come by in Quito.
Coming back from San Diego the other night I did feel a little winded for the first time ever on a plane. I was suffering from a gastro issue for a few days prior to boarding. Maybe that was it?

You might want to try paragraphs. Makes things easier to read.
To clarify, CR and DR have longer established tourism history so more people are experienced with little Spanish = little English exchange of communication. IME not the same in Colombia. Tourism is about 15 years going since things have stopped blowing up (literally). It's hard for me to explain but it's there. I guess the best way to explain it money; in Tijuana you can say to a taxi driver, drug dealer, street vendor, shop person "Ten dollars for _____" and they will understand the worlds "Ten and Dollars" for sure. But in Colombia you're 30-70% to be SOL. Or maybe you're in a cab. In Tijuana and I'm guessing DR (In PR for sure) you're in a taxi and you can say "Stop here please" the driver should be able to understand because he's heard this fro the entire time he has been driving. In Colombia you might get a "Como?" or "Que?". Now if you holla "STOP!" he'll get the idea but then you'd be a jag off. LOL!
If you're cool with DR Spanish be ready for another world of Espanol! Different slang and accents, very VERY fast!
RE the Attitude issue. I think it could be better when you find them on their own turff. I've had some faves P4P girls come back from _____ country with a very sour experience. They're away from their family (usually a small child or two!) , Work-sleep-work is their lives which is a grind, it's just about the money and then more money. You know what I mean? Relaxing lifestyle eh? The girls will be in their natural environment so that should equate to more relaxed.
PM me if you have any specific quesions as I might have some about DR and maybe CR!
