This is a ridiculous statement
The problem with visiting other cities is there are no direct flights from US cities or hubs. Once you make a long flight to Brasil on a US carrier, you're not willing to transfer to a Brasilian domestic carrier to travel to a off the path Brasilian airport. Brasil has spent very little money in upgrading their airport system.
Have you ever been to a Brazilian regional airport or flown a Brazilian domestic carrier? I doubt it. I have flown on TAM, GOL, and Varig (when it existed) to Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Recife, Salvador, Brasilia, Manaus, and Fernando de Noronha, not to mention Sao Paulo. The service on these domestic flights is not only equal to but better than what you would receive on a US domestic flight. E. G, you can still get a hot meal on a domestic flight, something long gone in the US, and there is no charge for baggage. As far as the airports go, the quality varies from city to city and I don't suppose there are objective criteria for assessing airports. Suffice it to say that the airports in Curitiba and Brasilia are gleaming modern airports, the equal of any in the US or western Europe. The others vary from adequate to weather-beaten, but so do some provincial airports in the US and Europe. So you really don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
