Avoid Hotel San Fernando!
Folks, I cannot warn you enough to stay away from this place.
The place Hotel San Fernando (also called Hostal San Fernando) near Parque del Perro is outdated with old, thin worn-out mattresses and the smell near that computer from his dirty dogs is nasty!
More importantly, it is NOT girl-friendly. Sure, you can bring them over, but expect to pay OR be threatened with arrest. The Iraqi owner guy, Rigo Tafur, tried to charge me for two sessions when I checked out. I asked him about it & he said "all hotels in Cali charge for having a girl over", which we ALL know is not true.
When I said it wasn't fair, he pointed to the form you sign when you check in which does say "guests more than 1 hour = the $15 fee". I noted that the girls weren't even there for a whole hour! Even though I showed he was wrong, he threatened to call the police if I did not pay. He kept my bags 'hostage' while I went out to find an ATM for the chica fees.
Consider yourself warned. Find a better, cleaner hotel that won't charge you for bringing a girl back for less than an hour!
What hotel? How to contact?
I am looking for a good, monger friendly, and central place to stay. What is your hotel? Address? Website?
Thanks!
Sean William Conway or STRADDLER as he calls himself did stay at our Hotel and we did charge him two $8 dollar charges for the 2 visitors he brought to his room on 2 different days.
But that's not the whole story and we thank International Sex Guide for the opportunity to tell our side of the story.
A good repeat customer (amazingly successful with the ladies) came with an acquaintance this time. He had warned us that his friend was 'a little difficult' but we had no idea! Our customer had requested two $39 dollar rooms and since we only had one available at the time we upgraded our customer to a room with a computer for the same money since this was his ninth visit in the past 3 years.
Immediately, Sean Conway complained about the fact that he was being charged the same rate since his room didn't have a computer. Our customer brought us some hotel supplies from Florida so we gave him a complementary night because of it and since Sean Conway arrived with our customer the owner gave him a comp. Night too.
They stayed 4 nights, our customer had lots of ladies (8 plus) , Sean Conway didn't do as well since he lacked communication skills and was unhappy about not being able to find vegetarian food but besides that everything appeared to be fine until the 5th day (Sept 26, 2010) when he got the bill and compared it to his friend's. He became angry and exploded when he realized we had charged him for the two visitors he had had (anything over an hour automatically raises the rate) but we didn't charge anything to our repeat customer.
We pointed out that it was specified on the registration form that he signed at check in. There is an additional one time $8 dollar daily charge for visitors to the room. We didn't charge our customer because at the owners discretion good repeat customers get additional discounts.
We couldn't understand all the fuss over $16 dollars especially after getting a comp night just by arriving with our customer since he was a complete stranger to us. We tried to reason with him telling him that the security gate tapes didn't lie and if necessary the police could resolve the matter. Our customer interceded and paid the $16 charge.
We have had several IMG members in the past stay with us like 'saint', 'simple man' and 'frijole' just to name a few.
These guys are extremely successful with the ladies because of the fact that they are good decent people to start with and never take advantage of situations or the ladies.
One last thing: I'm an American citizen of Colombian descent and the hotel's owner is a New Yorker of Irish descent. No Iraqui 'connection' here! .
We wish you all well and enjoy your visits to Cali, we sure do enjoy living here!
Should have been Terrazas de Granada
Can anyone tell me anything about Torres de Granada? A friend living in Cali says I should stay there but when I Google it, it appears to be a long ways from everything monger-wise. I searched the board and didn't come up with anything.
Sorry that should have been "Terrazas de Granada". This place looks a lot closer to the action! Anyone have any info on it?
