Domino: Stop wasting my time!
just some remarks to the bs on the british site:
bring enough funds for your stay and your return. bank transfers take time and if you miss your return flight, you may have to purchase another ticket to get home. scottish and northern irish bank notes are not accepted in thailand.
--goes for any country
take care of your valuables at all times. do not leave them out of sight or leave them unattended unless you are sure that they are safe.
--what if you think they are safe but get stolen anyway?
be on your guard against pickpockets and bag snatchers as you would be in any busy tourist resort.
--goes for any country
take care of your passport at all times; theft of them is common. do not leave your passport as security when hiring a car or motor cycle.
--goes for any country
report any loss to the nearest police station.
--goes for any country
remember that roads are not as safe as in the uk.
--huh???
do not leave home without travel insurance, and ensure that it covers both medical treatment, including medical evacuation to the uk and unexpected losses/expenses (eg missing charter flight, losing passport, having cash and credit cards stolen).
--goes for any country
do not carry anything through customs for somebody else.
--goes for any country
never accept a drink or food from a stranger, they may be drugged.
--the stangers may be drugged???
do not have sexual relations with anyone under the age of 18 years. thailand recognises such acts as [CodeWord123].
--there you go!
do not use a guide who approaches you on the street, even if he appears to have genuine credentials. he will invariably be a tout.
--hahahahaha!!!!
freeler's addition:
do not go with strangers, specially women. you might get screwed.
