doc... Here's some info on Spb from my friend who is an "expert" on Spb. It's not much, but maybe it's better than nothing!
"I'm not out that often and things do change, but Magrib is definately the place on Sundays. Mondays are pretty slow everywhere, but Marstall is the surest bet to at least have some people and of course the usual collection of hags. If he's looking for a regular bar and is on the younger side (doc, COMPARED TO ME, YOU ARE DEFINITELY ON THE YOUNGER SIDE!!!), Club Metro gets a good crowd on Mondays also. "
IMHO, get thee to Moscow where there's life every single night! :)

Magrib is busy every night except IIRC Monday when just the front bar is open. It is just a question of degree.
Marstall is busy every night but again a question of degree. Of course the same girls are there every night...
There is a private club called Absinthe that might be worth checking out. Many of the girls from Magrib go there, ask about it, but I think it is not cheap.

I was in ST PET :) I stayed at a hotel on Nevsky called Pulfard. Not bad, a clean hotel, nice location next to the train station. After 10 pm there is a group of woman across the street from the station. I had one girl for $50 for 2 hours, stay away, no good. I also went to Tribunal bar late at night.
The next day aprox 40 girls, all asking for $150 for few hours. I paid $100 had a sweet girl from Moscow good service .
I asked the hotel rep for Sauna and she called the Peter Hotel. They have sauna. The cost is 1000 ruple for 2 hours. They ask me if I wanted a girl, I said yes so they brought young girls. Nice looking, 2000 ruple for 2 hours. The service was ok. A very clean place. I recomend it. They have a Hotel upstairs too :)
I did not have the chance to visit the incall Saloons that was mentioned before.
Have fun and stay warm :)

Privet vsem, Hello everybody!
I am living in Petersburg till the end of February 2004. If any fellow monger is interested to meet to pick up regular girls together please let me know.

Dusty Bin and other St.P experts:
Do you know of a good place to watch NFL football in St.P? I am planning on watching the playoffs on Sunday night and don't know where to go. PitStop?
Thanks for your help!

Too late now for this advice for yesterday's games, but for next weekend, if you didn't find anyplace, Doctor, I would suggest calling up the U.S. Consulate and asking the Marine NCO on duty where his fellow Devil Dogs watch. Those guys will be watching the game in St. Pete if it is humanly possible!

I have the opportunity to spend a month during the spring/summer in either Prague or St. Petersburg. I am interested in hearing opinions on which city would be better for such an extended trip, particularly in regards to the subjects on this forum.
I know there is no right or wrong answer to this question, but I respect the opinions of my fellow travelers. Please factor in the special nature of a multi-week trip as opposed to a short hop. This would mean taking into consideration that the city can be used as a base of operations for weekend travel to nearby destinations.
I have been to Prague recently, have never been to St. Petersburg or anywhere in Russia.
-
I have made several visits to both cities and stayed for a long time in Saint Petersburg. (several weeks). I would wholeheartedly recommend Saint Petersburg although I am sure you would enjoy Prague also. SPb has so much to do in all senses as well as opportunities to trave; omwards and outwards, possibly accompanied by one of your new girl friends. Moscow is easy, Novgorod is close. The weather wil be pleasant during the spring.
Plenty of women from all sources.
Prices reasonable, certainly more so than Prague.
Have fun.

St. Petersburg is very cold in the spring. I was there in May and it snowed (plus ice still in river).
That being said - the girls are gorgeous and friendly. Lots of great palaces and museums. Nevsky avenue is very live every night with lots of people windowshopping etc.
If you don't mind cool spring weather - I thought St. Petersburg was great and would go back in a minute.

Completely agree with Dusty Bin and Chicagoboy in reccomending SPB, especially for an extended stay. Beautiful and interesting city with loads of places to go for both entertainment and of general interest and no where near as expensive as Moscow. I found the people incredibly friendly and generous and the women are gorgeous. I think you'll have even more opportunities with regular girls as you won't just be there for a short stay.
I haven't really got anything against Prague, but I think it is becoming more of a short visit city, and possibly is picking up some of the worst traits of Amsterdam with the number of weekenders who go there.
I just think that SPB is a great place - I would love to live there for a bit!

R... If your trip is Prague anytime after the end of May, skip it. Especially if you have already been, the tourists make the city unbearable in the Summer. Spb is a fun town, but if you're looking for P4P, you will be bored to tears within a week or two. Of course, you can always head to Moscow which offers something new every night.
-
Thanks for the opinions guys.
CA Traveler, that is just the issue, I do not want to be bored to tears two weeks into the trip. I will be working on the trip, so it will not be all play, but I would like to have a high play quotient. :) P4P in St. Petersburg does not have a great web presence, not many good web sites, that is what concerned me. I suppose I could do some weekenders to Moscow.
The point about Prague and tourists is valid and worth considering.
Dusty, do you really think St. P is less expensive than Prague? I was getting the opposite impression from this forum.

Over the past couple of years I've spent some time in both SPB and Prague, so I have some basis for comparison. Being an epicurean, I preferred the style of life and food more in Prague than in SPB. I think the women are better looking and more do-able in SPB. Even if you are an ugly git like me, you'll be deluged in amateur Russkie broads wanting to tend to your needs if you just treat them halfway decently.
A funny story - I was in SPB attending a classical music concert (not the Mariinsky, but a smallish, inexpensive theater) along with my Russkie former GF. There were probably a dozen nice-looking women in the crowd of 300 who gave me the heavy eye-contact and "please say hello to me" look when I was milling about looking at exhibits and having a drink prior to the show, at intermission, or afterwards. For comparison purposes I'm in my mid-30s and am no prize in the looks department. However, I dress decently, appear to be employed, and don't stink of vodka, so I am a valuable commodity to a lot of those women.

Just a thought.
If you are going to be in either city for a month and need to rely entirely upon P4P, then you be a sadder boy than me!
I would dispute CAtravellers point, but, even if it were true, there is no need to rely upon paying a tart to drop her keks!
Paying can and should be a pleasant addition to ones social and sexual repertoire, not a replacement. Paying is always, ultimately, boring and Saint Petersburg offers an excellent environment to enjoy women in all social settings! (As does Prague, it is simply that one is better than the other.) BTW in the Spring, you will not be wandering around shirt-sleeved, but the weather is very pleasant. In the summer, the tarmac on the streets can even start to melt. That is a little too much for me...

How would you compare St. Petersburg and Tallinn?
