Seoul to redevelop 3 red-light districts
Seoul City plans to begin redevelopment work on the three major red-light districts in the nation's capital in 2004 as part of its new urban development project, officials said yesterday.
"The city government will draw up redevelopment plans for the districts by the end of 2003," a city official said. "Work on redevelopment projects will begin in 2004."
The three red-light districts - Miari Texas, Cheongnyangni 588 and Yongsan Station Texas - are all located north of the Han River that flows through the capital from east to west.
Mayor Lee Myung-bak, who was sworn in as Seoul's top administrator in July, has been pushing for the urban development plan, which is aimed at giving a makeover to Seoul's northern areas.
The businessman-turned-mayor put forward the blueprint, under which three "new towns" will be built in the northern half so as to achieve balanced development in the capital.
"The city administration will lead the redevelopment projects because various interests, including those of brothel owners, are at stake," the official said.
The sprawling Cheongnyangni 588, which is not far from downtown Seoul, will be replaced with a civilian-invested railroad station, the construction permit for which is likely to be issued within the month, the official said. "A budget of 120 million won has been earmarked for fleshing out the district's redevelopment plan."
The Office of Dongdaemun (East Gate) Ward, where the red-light district stands, drew up its redevelopment plan, but it has made little progress since then.
Another civilian-invested railroad station will be put up in place of the current Yongsan Station Texas area.
Miari Texas will be redeveloped as part of a plan to build a new town in its vicinity.
The official said the city government will work with women's organizations to help prostitutes working in the red-light districts find other jobs.
"Education about re-employment is important because prostitutes may work underground in residential or suburban areas unless they land new jobs," he said.
Prostitution is illegal in Korea, but red-light districts thrive in large cities because law enforcement in the area is almost nonexistent.
Miari Texas is host to about 250 brothels where some 1,000 prostitutes work, the largest in the capital. Around 400 women work at 147 brothels in Cheongnyangni 588, and the 65 brothels of Yongsan Station Texas, employ 109 prostitutes.

koreans are everywhere in cebu, malls, markets beaches etc.the key is to get the local resident koreans earning philippine incomes, higher then filipinos, but lower then normal koreans, for example a korean interpreter at hotel earns about 18 thousand pesos or about 350$ a month, but she gets an apartment like an airconditioned furnished studio for tourist about 70$ a month,a maid at 40$ a month,a meal at a foodcourt for 1$,fine dining at 5-6$,five star hotel,so she has a lower income, but a higher standard of living.then do korean things KTV,talk about herself etc, tourist guides and students are also good groups of koreans to work on,anyway this is not the proper area so post me on the cebu board happy hunting

Sorry to see that even Seoul is feeling the morality crackdown. Some of my fondest memories of trips to the Orient are of evenings on Hooker Hill. (The best of which involved two sisters one winter night when it was colder than a witch's tit outside, and wonderfully warm in a traditional Korean bed, particularly with two willing participants.) Wish I were there in Itawon right now! Randy

TDC is short for tongduchon the area right outside of Camp Casey and Tokori is what american GI's call the area outside of Camp Hovey. It's a 5 dollar taxi ride between both places. If I get a Chance tonight I will post a list of the clubs in both areas.

From the Korean Herald newspaper, Dec 9, 2002:
SEOUL TO REDEVELOP 3 RED-LIGHT DISTRICTS
Seoul City plans to begin redevelopment work on the three major red-light districts in the nation’s capital in 2004 as part of its new urban development project, officials said yesterday.
“The city government will draw up redevelopment plans for the districts by the end of 2003,” a city official said. “Work on redevelopment projects will begin in 2004.”

Okay here is a list of some of the better clubs in tokori which is right outside of the US Military base called Camp Hovey:
M Asian girls
"X" Zone Russian
Ace
B&B
BlackJack
DMZ
Foxwoods Russian
Grand Illusion
NBA
Olympus
Smakers
Sunshine
Currently GI's have to be back on a military post by 600 so that should help you nonmilitary guys out. The exception is yongsan where the GI's down there basically do whatever they want with not much curfew enforcement.
As for TDC which is outside of Camp Casey there are over 40 bars to choose from but I like these three best:
BMW
Moscow
Seoul
all of these have nice russian women working in them, especially 1 in BMW and 2 in Seoul. I was in BMW one night with a friend and almost died from laughter when one GI passed his credit card to the owner. He took the best girl in the club with him and she was $200. I was playing cards with a chubby but cute girl and asked her how much. She said I didnt have enough, which was funny because she was rather plump. I will be going to Yong Ju Gol on friday night and will post a report on the conditions there.
Happy Hunting

oldleaf and photoman,
Seen these type of stories for years. 120 million won? That will buy you a 12-pyong one-room apartment. Wonder what kind of "fleshing out" will be done. Plans like these are usually announced, IMHO, to gain greater pay offs for those calling the shots or in response to some embassador's 57-year-old wife who's gotten her panties in a knot after learning about these areas. Why, if prostitution is illegal, do these places still exist? Econ 101, baby! Quote: Law enforcement in these areas is virtually non-existant. (?!) Heck, there's a police station next door to the entire brothel strip near Yongsan station. And if you live in Seoul you know that the police force (aka police farce) here is ubiquitous. Neither the Korea Herald nor the Korea Times are credible. Crack downs on just about everything are frequently announced, but it's typically far more form than substance. Your grandsons will be visiting these places a few decades from now.
Now, enough about fiction, who's been there recently? Recent cold spell may decrease the number of korean customers and give some of us long noses a chance. BTW, I've noticed that some of the places near Yongsan station are open mid-morning, approx. 10 AM. Since there are few, if any, customers at that time what's going on?

I've noticed that Yongsan seems to keep better hours than Miari or 588.
Was at Miari recently on a Saturday afternoon recently, and didn't see any of the houses open. Finally found one place, but this was after one of the ajuma offered me a fat girl. I politely declined.
Has been a few years since I was in 588, but noticed the same. Not much shopping around lunch time.
However, I've seen pretty good action at Yongsan as early as 9. Not every place was open, but there was enough variety to make it work the trip.
I don't speak Korean, but rarely have a problem with the "no foreigners" attitude. Of course, I don't walk the main road. There's enough to chose from on the side alleys.
Was turned down in Suwon recently because the girl complained about the size of the pepper. Made ajuma angry when I said no problem.

Went to Yong Joo Gol and it was everything and more. There were some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen on display there. And I have experienced other areas around the world so these women were comparable to the others. The three guys I took were young and never seen anything like this before. We arrived around 7:15 and we just walked around taking it all in. Most of the girls were still applying makeup and a good majority of the shops were not open yet. We didnt get many friendly looks but I think it might have to do with one of my companions. He's fat, bald and wore dirty jeans and a stupid lettermans wrestling jacket. Walked around for about an hour with no signs of any action for us at all. So we decided to get a beer and then head back out. We then split into two's to see if we had any better luck. After about 30 mins and almost being chased for taking pictures. I know stupid on my part. I said lets go home, we started to leave when I saw a girl alone. I went up to her window and in broken Korean asked her if I could come in. She motioned that I was too big down there. I found this very amusing since I am really rather average at best. So I told my friend to pull his out and show her. He motioned to her for a handjob and she told him the same thing too big. So he pulled it out, she saw it and said come on in. He said she wanted 70,000 for FS but he said 50,000 she talked to ajuma then did him for 50,000. He took a shower which is the norm then she proceeded to give him a massage nude, a bbbj multiple postions, daty and he finished by cumming on her tits. All of this took about 35 mins and he was very satisfied whith the service. She even gave me a smoke while we were waiting for our other friend who was with another girl in the booth across from hers. All in all they were happy with the evening. Sorry for the length of this post.

Nico,
Are you korean? I went there fri. nite and found it to be quite a 'cold' place, both figuratively and literally. Walked around for quite some time and got nothing buy cold shoulders and closed doors. I'm tall and white, but was with a korean friend. He asked some mafioso type if there's any place that'll take foreigners and he said no. Our taxi driver said he's seen lots of foreigners there. I think it's part of the anti-americanism sweeping the place, esp. northern seoul.
The women do seem quite hot, many with no panties under their supertight pants. Some are even in school-girl type uniforms, about as close to catering to fetishes as i've seen here. Would love to go back when things 'warm' up, but all in all it was a waste of w90,000 and 2+ hours for the taxi (black).
Ironically, this happened on friday the 13th. Should've known better...........

Went back to Ambrosia to see Mindy - as someone else on the board said, "loyalty pays".
She remembered me when I came in, remembered my name and where I was from, so we sat and chatted for a while. Then she asked me 'what do you want?' - I always start with a stripshow which she is extremely good at, and is only 30,000 with full touching, kissing, fingering..
By that point it would be almost rude not to have sex with her, and I negotiated 90,000 which I was happy to pay (hell, she's stunning)
Ambrosia is a small place and she's the only girl who works in there, so basically she pulls down the blinds and all the fun happens in the bar. There's a sofa so she lay down on that and we had sex in various positions, including doggy where I got a fine view of her ass. I was close to blowing when she asked did I want to come on her tits, so she removed the condom, took me in her mouth, and I pulled out and came on her.
Afterwards she sat and talked whilst cleaning and playing around with me for a while.
I can't recommend her enough - if you're on the hill, go and see her, you'll not be disappointed!

harpo,
no i'm not korean i'm mexican but some most mistake me for african american. i took another mexican guy and two white guys with me.we were there friday night also but we left rather early since we dont have the luxury of staying out that late. were probably going back this saturday night. sorry to hear that it cost you so much money to get there and back. perhaps you might try taking the train next time. it's much cheaper.if you take the train to munsan a taxi ride there is only 10,000 or you could get off in paju which is even closer, and grab a taxi there. don't let that one experience hold you back. next time just try and find a girl all by herself and talk to her. we were thinking perhaps peer pressure from the other girls might have something to do with some girls not taking us. just a theory though. if you need travel tips or anything drop me an email.
ciao

Due to the recent stabbing of a US Army Colonel in Yongsan all military soldiers in Korea have a 9:00 pm curfew. So everyone out there please be carefull because if this happened to him it could easily happen to one of us.

Nico;
Regarding Yong Joo Gol ...
"Went to Yong Joo Gol and it was everything and more. There were some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen on display there."
Where exactly is this? I've been to Itaewon, and in that general area of Seoul. Is this on the outskirts? How far and how much by Taxi if it is? Sounds like a cool place. I'll wait for a response.
Thanks!
