Larsca,
Sounds as if you had a good time in the banja. I think they also call them saunas (CAYHA). Are there dyevooshki at the banjas, or do you have to bring your own? Sounds like, once you are indside, anything is possible.
I can't say when I will be back in Moldova again. I tell you,
I first visited Chisinau many years ago, when it was Kishinev. It was at the end of the Soviet Union and, to my mind, it was a terrible, horrible place. It's only one recommendation was it's beautiful young women, which is why I went. :-)
I have never really enjoyed visiting there. I went mainly because I had to, as a kind of family obligation. This last trip, however, I was very impressed with all the changes. Easy to get a visa, beautiful new airport, excellent hotels and restaurants. I actually find myself looking forward to my next visit. Civilizatsia prishyol!
Maybe this summer again, but it's not definite. Hopefully, we can meet some time.

You might try escorts-moldova.com for organized action, but the real beauties are in Tiraspol though it's a completely different country(prinistrovya) and you need a seperate visa to get there!!

Vegamars,
Such an agency might be useful for a one-time traveller. But for sure you know, that the mentioned prizes on that side is world away from normal prizes.
As far as I know, you donīt need a different visa to enter Transnistria. You have to pay a kind of entrance-fee and register in local authority bureaus in Tiraspol, Bendery, Dubassary or else where.
Strav,
I am not too much into banjas or saunas. In past I was, but with private invitations. But I know, that there are banjas, where the responsible natchalnik can order girls for you on your wish.
I agree with you, that even Moldova changes. But I never found a real good restaurant (with the exception of Stare Gorod restaurant). You can easily see the changes on the increasing numbers of cars in the streets. Three years ago much more less then actually.
But much more is still in the sad shape as years before. Go out of the capital and visit the villages - never before I saw such poor conditions in another country of Europe.
Hope to see you once in future!
Have fun

Hi, I'm planning to visit the country next Easter. I heard that is possible to get a touristic VISA in the airport. Is it true?
I'm coming from UE. What about the currency: is there black market or not?
Ciao

Obroni,
Indeed you can easily get your visa without hazzels on airport. Costs are $60,- Takes 10 minutes and you can enter it.
Some sources deny this possibility, but it is working regularly. I use it always.
There is no need to work on black market for currency in Moldova. There are dozens of exchange shops in the centre. The more close to the centre, the worse the exchange rate.
Keep distance to any black market exchange, īcos there are a bunch of "falsifikates". And also refuse to get defect banknotes - they arenīt accepted mostly.
Have fun

Let's be honest about this. There is no "VIP Lounge" at the Chisinau airport. I believe what Essi is referring to is the Diplomatic Terminal, which is very seldom used. For a fee, you can arrange with your Moldovan travel agent to have the reception that Essi just described at the Diplomatic terminal.
Theoretically, there should be an official there for customs and passport control, which should expedite your paperwork. In reality, on the day I arrived, there was only one official and she was already busy in the main terminal. I had to wait for almost an hour before she could get over to the Diplomatic terminal. so don't count on saving any time.
I paid $20 USD last summer for the "VIP" treatment, so 40 Euro seems a little high. I guess the rest of it goes to the middleman.

Well done Strav,
Indeed I must repeat, that issuing visa at airport doesn't last longer than 10 minutes. Outside there are always plenty of taxis waiting ready to take you to the capital for maximum $10.
The company "adresa" offers a wide range of appartments located in the centre for interesting prices. You can make an agreement with them under adresa@mdl.net or 00373 2 2 544 392. Fax number: 00373 2 2 272 096. Several of the female staff there is fluent in english language.
They also do the registration paperwork for you for some Lei. Also they arrange taxitransfer back to airport for a very low fee. This company is trustworthy and always correct.
I personally have been always been glad with them.
Another possibility is to have a look to www.logisticsmoldova.com. They also offer many appartements in Kishinew next to several other kind of services, usefull for all kinds of travellers.
Have fun

Hi
The vip service include a special transport from the plain to the vip entrance and there you make your visa if you need and all you need very quick. I use it very often. But sometimes take long time till you get your baggage.
I offer a car with driver to take you from the airport to where you need in Kishinev. All this service will cost you 40 euro.
The other way is to go with all the passengers and wait for visa if there is any lady in the office normaly there is somebody.
If some other passengers need visa too you can wait 30-40 minits and after that the passsport control also can take time too.
After you pass the passport control you collect your bags and have another line for baggage check, please remember " no truly there" you have to carry all your bags with your hands, they want to make sure that it's your bags.
After that you pass the costom and if you look forigener they start to ask you how much money, cigarets, camera computer and all this balagan. if they found that you lie them its better to give the guy 20-30 $ and go, mainly thats the reason why he stop you.
If you want to save the money for taxi (about 100 lei) you can take maxitaxi for 3-4 lie to the centre of Kishinev this will take you about 20-30 minits.
All In total will cost you 3 lei.

Cīmon ESSI,
It is o.k. if anyone wants to earn some EURO with that kind of service.
But, hey, we donīt speak about London or Frankfurt airport - Kishinew airport is probably the smallest one throughout Europe with very few passengers arriving.
Waiting 30-40min for visa? Donīt create a kind of horror scenario here - I am coming to Moldova frequently since the last three years and never had such a situation. But maybe you get a special treatment :-)
Everytime I was passing quite quick through all the bureaucratical acts and even if I would save 5 minutes - so what?
Have fun

Lukasek,
To continue our discussion from the photo section. . .
You are absolutely correct. Chisinau is a place not as expensive as Moscow, where you will find beautiful young women with not arrogant-unpolite kind of thinking as, for example, here in the United States! ;-))
And yes, I do have much first hand knowledge of Moldovan women and women of CIS countries.

Hi guys
C' mon.

Essi,
We would all be happy to have some cool news. I don't think anyone would object to that. That's why travel information is so important.
Chisinau is not a major tourist destination, unless you are a Turk. ;-) Most Americans don't even know where is Moldova. Travel information is an important subject for discussion. How to get there, where to stay, where to eat, how to get around the city, what is the local currency worth and how to change it, these are all important to know.
Posting travel information is not preventing people from posting their first hand encounters with Moldovan dyevs, it encourages it. I would encourage anyone who reads this board and takes useful information from it in order to travel to Moldova, to also contribute information about their experiences, no matter how basic.
The more men who travel there, the more cool news we will have.
