Maybe it's because I lived near Hollywood but I always appreciate a good story whether it is fact or fiction.
In addition, over the long term, a typical working girl has an order of magnitude more partners than an typical punter, even if he's unusually active.
In my opinion, given the higher risk of HIV for the women, this makes a man demanding BBFS from a sex worker selfish and borderline abusive. Sure, there's usually semi-informed consent, but regardless of that, condoms are such an exceedingly simple solution that reduce the risk to the girl from substantial to negligible.
Even if I'm fully capable of convincing someone to voluntarily cross the street blindfolded for money, should I really be doing that?
Sure, if the only thing accomplished in convincing someone to voluntarily cross the street blind-folded was for the money (them) and for the sadistic thrill of watching it (you), then the exchange would be abnormal and puzzling why many would bother. But since it turns out this kind of "street crossing" provides tremendous intrinsically natural pleasure for at least one party, often for both, and in many cases more than just some money but a significant amount of money for the other party, one can now understand why that kind of "street crossing" is done countless times every day and every hour of every day.
Let's say in your "selfish and borderline abuse by blind-folded street crossing" analogy that my strongly recommended circumcision + vasectomy + recent negative test document precautions add looking both ways up and down the street right before donning the blindfold to determine there are no cars on the street as far as the eye can see, not even a parked one, before stepping off the curb. Ok, we'll allow for that one-in-a-million chance some speed racer going 200 MPH might spin out of control and out of nowhere around the corner about the time we get half-way across that street, just to give a nod to nothing being perfect. I submit a street crossing after taking that precaution, blind-folded, even at the intersection of Sukhumvit and Asok, is very likely safer than crossing the street at Sukhumvit and Asok without a blind-fold during normal traffic conditions.
Then the topic also begs the question; why not do both or all of the above? If you're so concerned about not being selfish or abusive regarding putting a sex worker, a sometimes girlfriend or a booty call at risk of disease or unwanted pregnancy even if you try to use a condom every time, why stop at merely slipping on a condom when it is well-known that in actual, real-world practice and not theoretical or hypothetical white-coated scientists in a sterile lab environment conditions, condoms can and do fail to provide anything near 100% effectiveness? Why not also get circumcised, get a vasectomy and always have a very recent negative blood check document (for at least a couple of biggies) from a qualified clinic in your possession before proceeding with that "street crossing"? Especially since it is as well-known as the data on condom use under real world conditions that establishing those latter precautions are also very effective in avoiding unwanted pregnancy and transmission of disease.
The irony is my (and others) circumcision, vasectomy and blood check procedures WERE performed in approximate white-coated scientists in sterile lab environment conditions while the real world application of a condom, especially with regard to punters and sex workers, is all too often performed under conditions that are a chaotic mess. Not least of which being both parties involved in the procedure have likely had as many as 12-15 alcoholic beverages in the 5-6 hours leading up to the procedure and at least one of the two are either consciously or subconsciously rooting for the procedure to fail to be completed or not even attempted at all.
With all due respect ET for me this is not about whether you personally are a danger to your lady going BB, most likely tests not withstanding you are not. No the conversation is about the risks in going BB with somebody whose health situation is unknown. Having BB with somebody who is not a carrier of an STI other than the risk of pregnancy also nonexistent with a vasectomy, it is safe. The danger is not in transmitting it is in contacting. You can take all the precautions, washing, checking for telltale signs etc but you can never be sure the girl is not a carrier and while nothing is guaranteed by using condoms a bad outcome is significantly reduced.
Well, I do think much of the discussion has also been about the punter putting the sex worker at risk of both unplanned pregnancy or disease (or boyfriend/husband re the girlfriend/wife) . I understand that might not be your primary concern or what you want to talk about. But I and others have been talking about that part of it as well.
True, the precautions I take cannot guarantee or assure the next girl I meet won't be riddled with disease and pass it along to me. Which can also happen even if you do wear a condom, BTW. But being circumcised certainly can reduce my catching some nasties (and my medical history would support that it probably did) and a recent blood test document can at least tell you how effective your precautions have been through decades of practicing them, to determine whether or not they have been working and are worth continuing.
There are various things to catch regardless of Condoms sure, however that just distracts from condoms being effective for some things. A condom that did not come off or break is unlikely to cause a pregnancy.
I agree that bare backing hookers has plenty of risks, and HSV2 is one of them, although not life threatening. The exact likelihood of catching it seems little known. Similarly for girls with pussy warts HPV, how likely to catch is that. I have felt those warts with finger in pussy on a rare occasion. I might not be keen to BBFS without learning more first. More commonly I find sponge in pussy that can cause condom tears. That is dangerous. I refuse to fuck girls with sponges normally. Can't recall the last exception. Usually can persuade them to take it out, once they finally admit it. Sponges limit penetration too much for me and feel lousy not smooth.
HSV is true is rarely tested. It is not as big a deal as made out for many, since many people did not even know they had it.
Other recover and never get another attack. These are the fortunate ones.
I have tested for it currently. Did not have it at the time. I also did a long term test, called IgG I think.
Unfortunately it did not distinguish between HSV1 (cold sores) and HSV 2 genital herpes.
My first long term test was positive.
Some time later I got another long term test and asked for HSV 2 only test. The result showed negative to HSV1 & HSV2, not what I asked for.
But seemed to indicate I never had either. This time was done by the Red Cross, previously by Ekkamai hospital I think.
The truth is you can get false positives and false negatives, so in the end, I still don't know if ever had either of them.
Seems like there is no reliable test. It is only a faint indicator. Not sure if worthwhile to get any further tests for HSV. Could be a waste of time and money.
What if I get negative again next time. Will it prove anything useful? Not really.
Never had anything that looked exactly like HSV, to my knowledge.
One doctor suggested I had a cold sore, but a skin specialist quickly refuted that and indicated.
Was a simple bacteria infection (easily treatable).
Doctors don't know much about STDs really unless they specialise in it. Normal general practitioners can have misguided education or lack of good education and experience.
One doctor tried to tell me you cannot get an STD from a BJ or from sex with a condom (or from a toilet seat) and yet, I had one, which was immediate counter evidence. So he was essentially trying to say I was lying about what encounters happened. On different occasion caught Chlamydia eye from my finger (was in pussy), so I know how easy it is to catch. Doctors should know too.
My recent comprehensive physician's exam two weeks ago did not check for either HSV1 or HSV2 and I did not think to ask for one. Like you, I have never had what one could suspect after checking is a genital HSV2 outbreak. But I had childhood measles, so I assume I have some traces of HSV1 or whatever herpes strain is associated with that in my system as is the case with so many. I suppose that is the reason I have not felt it necessary to get checked for herpes. It is one of the most prevalent viruses on the planet and would likely be a rare case for it not to ever show up to some degree in a test anyway. Meanwhile, I have never had a physician push for me (or anyone else I know) getting tested for herpes. I think when you check the boxes for measles or whatever else on the admission form, that pretty much tells them what they need to know.
Buddy of mine who loves mongering in Pattaya claims to have gotten several maladies needing medical treatment even though he wears a condom during sex "all the time". Even one he got after getting a blowjob wearing a condom! Some guys are just abnormally receptive to getting anything and everything no matter the precautions they take I suppose.
But I had childhood measles, so I assume I have some traces of HSV1 or whatever herpes strain is associated with that in my system as is the case with so many.
Can you explain why you mention measles. I had it as a child also, but don't see how relevant. HSV1 is known as "cold sores" and 65% of adult males have had it possibly higher in some countries. There are prophylactics for it, but probably not needed unless a high risk person. Valacyclovir maybe.
I don't know if I ever had cold sores. Did not have anything that looked like it, and I never had the pre tingling sensation often reported, like those who get one know its coming and can start treatment early. If we never had one before are we likely to get it late in life? No idea.
HSV2 is genital herpes but a bit less common. There is also Herpes Zoster (known as Shingles) VZV (perhaps a bit unrelated). This is possible subsequent to Chicken Pox I believe. My brother had this one with belly rashes. Other Herpes types? I heard of Epstein-Barr, human cytomegalovirus, but assume are rare. Human Herpes Virus 6 A and 6 B is little heard of but I read that most people tested have them quite possibly since age 1 month. Associated with some child illness.

Some guys don't even remember what they did after being drunk. LOL You can catch something from finger in pussy and then rub your dick to make it hard even before the condom went on. Some bugs are very easy to catch for some people. Fortunately HIV is not one of them.
Catching Chlamydia in one eye shows the ease of transference to a sensitive area. My dick also had it once. Probably now 20 years since my last STD, yet a buddy had a dose of Gonor in his first week in Thailand. Behaviour matters. Certain behaviours can get something very quick. Choice of girl too! The girl chose him. He had no resistance, in more than one way.

I think asking for BBFS is comparable to asking someone to cross the street blindfolded in a very quiet rural area after midnight, when there's hardly any traffic.
The problem is (as always in safe sex discussions) that most people think it's comparable to asking someone to cross Sukhumvit Road blindfolded in the rush hour.
Just a few questions to ask all you doubters.
Do the waters part for you when you want to get to Koh Larn?
Does that bottle of cheap plonk turn to a Grand Cru when you open it?
Does that ugly fugly you bar fined last night turn into a beautiful girl after she has spent a night with you?
Do the satangs in the begging bowls of the unfortunates turn to gold when you pass you hand over them?
Do the people follow you up the mound to listen to you tell them how to up their game?
Can you buy three large double cheeseburgers and feed 500 people?
No? I didn't think so oh ye of little faith.
No reason except a misstatement on my part. LOL. I did have measles as a child. And the mumps. And scarlet fever. A fun childhood. But I meant to reference chickenpox there. Had that, too. And I definitely had a couple of cold sores along the way. But haven't had any recurrence of anything like those things since I was a kid.
Interesting the way the doctor referenced one benign result on my latest comprehensive exam; he said there are trace indications of "exposure" to this or that virus and showed me something indicating it on the computer monitor screen. Then he laughed and said, BTW, that is totally normal since just being in a hospital meant I have been "exposed" to certain viruses and means nothing with regard to actually being infected by them. The instruments are refined enough to pick up that kind of thing. Impressive. I wonder how many patients hear the first part of that kind of presentation, go deaf from shock, never hear or fully comprehend the next part and then limp out of the hospital certain they are doomed. We joked about how the only thing I could do to improve my exam results was to avoid hospitals at all cost. Oh, and maybe reduce my consumption of red meat a bit. LOL.
