Cute Guy 9000 is RIGHTTTTTTTTTT>
Scuba,
You poor slob, I am sorry if my comments personally struck a nerve but hey, the comments you made were racist and ignorant. They demonstrate your poor understanding of Korean Culture and its people. Common sense dictates that people are going to associate with people similar to them; in this case, Korean men are more similar to Korean woman then foreign men. Doh!
Bye the way, it is a little hard to cover up your tracks after the previous postings that you submitted, which are clearly indicative of someone who has self esteem issues and poor social skills.
Let's see here. I have rarely seen Korean girl out in public with white guys since moving to Seoul a few years ago and again, I am an attractive younger male and I don't get to many looks and many many turn downs, so please, don't tell me that some droopy old 50 year man can pick up all of the hot college rich girls that he wants. "COMMON SENSE" It doesn't really happen anywhere except for maybe thrid world countries and Korea is not one of them. If a Korean girl does consider dating a foreigner, he better be the kind of man that any woman would want to bring home to mom and dad "COMMON SENSE". Oh wait, maybe every well educated girl from good family and a bright future want to be some middle aged mans fuck toy for the rest of her life. Why on Earth would she at least be considering having beautiful little kids and a happy home life with her family. Nahhh, Not a chance. The just want to fuck us white boys all day. DOH!
Oh wait, f you think that all Korean men treat their women badly, you are mistaken. Korean women run the households and it is actually the man that is submissive to the wife. She only displays her submissiveness in public for her husbands face. DON"T EVEN TRY TO CONTEST THIS > it is inherent in Korean culture. Korean men actually treat their wives with the utmost respect and most of you would know this if you lived in Korea for any length of time.
Get real boys.
Prostitutes are people and people have standards
Run mann,
All people have some standards. Even the lowliest street walkers in the States won't just get into any car. Bye the way guys, Most Korean prostitutes don't have sex with foreigners, so relax boys. It is getting tough to get laid in Korea and our dollar isn't exactly as strong as it once was (losing over 25% of it value in Korea over the past year). THIS MEANS that it is also getting relatively expensive for all of you ENGLISH teachers making about $22,000 - $28,000 USD a year.
I have a question? If you think so poorly of Korea and its people, then why are you here? The only reason I ask is because I haven't seen any good post with useful information in it. I mean heck, you talk about things like korean credit debt and delinquincy ratios, but ours are higher in the States, so that has to make us even more stupid and incapable of handling our debt. Remember that the average U.S household has approximately $8,000 in credit card debt alone and that our debt to income ratios hit over 46%. We also have the lowest savings rates of all industrialized countries and South Korea has the second highest behind Japan. hmmmm. you should get your facts straight RUN MANN because Koreans are still dong much better than we are in this area even though their default rates are going up.
Middle Aged Men - Keep hope Alive
Hey don't look now but you've got forum members calling you a punk and a fool for posting the same repetitive unsubstantiated junk over and over. Keep it up, you may eventually convince yourself this is true.
Wow, is all I can say. Get out of Itaewon. Take a look around Sinchon or Kodae or SNU or Myeong Dong or Dongdaemoon or Jongno. Look at all the young hot Korean girls. See any on the arm of a middle aged white man? Head to a Starbucks. Watch Korean women when a lone white man walks in. See any heads turning? Go to Thailand or the Philippines and sure you see a lot of older men with their little fun time honey for the week. But that's a rare sight here. Again, there's a good reason.
.
I'm done. Welcome to Korea.
Cute Guy is absolutely right
Wow, is all I can say. Get out of Itaewon.
(snip)
I'm done. Welcome to Korea.
Absolutely. Every foreign male I know with a Korean-raised spouse or a long-term relationship with a local either 1) got married in the 1980s or earlier, 2) is fluent in the Korean language and lived in Korea long-term before marriage, or 3) married an extremely open-minded Korean, something that is rare indeed. I've always had far better luck with Korean-Americans or Korean-Canadians visiting or studying here.
Korea is a very Confucian society, built on hierarchical relationships. Everyone, upon first meeting, determines their relative social status. Foreigners' status in this system is undefined. Therefore, they have no status.
Korean women with foreign men here risk total ostracization by family, society and government. One who is ostracized by their family risked (until very recently) being crossed out of their family's geneaology, meaning they were no longer citizens in the eyes of the Korean government.
Hurdle 4 is very true - Koreans think deep down that their way is the best. Buying a foreign car is almost an act of treason and opens the door to an instant tax audit. Koreans really do think that theirs is the only country in the world with four distinct seasons. Koreans ridicule Kyopos (overseas Koreans) who use Western logic and do not exhibit the correct Korean 사고방식 ("sago-bang-shik" - way of thinking).
Hurdle 6 goes like this: "AIDS is a foreign disease, therefore all foreigners have AIDS."
There is a national museum in Chonan, about 60 miles south of Seoul - the Independence Hall of Korea. In it, there is (or there was; the last time I was there was 1993) a little display on the supposed cranial capacities of all the "races." (Koreans consider themselves a separate and distinct race, as different from Chinese as white is from black) Guess who they say averages the world's biggest brains? And this is an official national museum!
This is a country that has been invaded hundreds of times over their history and yet has maintained the most homogeneous society in the world. It was the "hermit kingdom" whose kings posted stone markers throughout the countryside warning people of foreigners and had to be opened to the world at gunpoint in the late 19th century. Every year, bills to counter racial discrimination are introduced in the National Assembly and never make it out of committee. Another telling sign of the "official" Korean governement attitude towards foreigners is the legal definition of murder: "causing the death of a Korean citizen." That's right: if a Korean kills a foreigner wrongfully, it is not murder under Korean law; merely a serious class of assault.
If you're a foreigner in this part of the world, and have neither the time nor inclination to settle here for years, Angeles City is only a plane ride away.
A few observations...........
I have never had a problem finding a nice goodlooking girl and getting good service. I have seen people of mid-eastern origin get refused. I have also seen Russian people told to take a hike! I suppose alot of it depends on you too. A few tips would be dont dress like a slob as this is Korea and appearance is the most important thing. I am as blond and blue eyed as they come so I will never be confused for a Korean. I have had a few chicks turn me down and Im thinking that the number would be something you could count on one hand.
Problems I have had have been with Korean men who are also looking to get some. I am basically verbally abused. Now given the fact that I could plant these guys in one second.....I really question there sanity. This really pisses me off but if I do give them the beating they deserve I will get fined and deported and shit will happen to them. I have known way to many people who have suffered this fate. (Most Koreans I know are reasonable people but when it comes to chicks that changes everything) Anyway I will never take shit from anyone. If your gonna descriminate against me cause Im a foreigner then go a head I will tell you to F-Off, not a problem! So I hope you guys go hunting proudly and dont worry if some guys give you some flap they wont do anything. I have asked some of them oh do we have a problem here and they look away or just walk away.
Anyway just my thoughts on this.....
