Armorer,
Thanks for the tip. It's much appreciated as I hate wearing shoes so no doubt I would have been turned away. only 3 days to go before I hit Kiev. I can't wait!

After the long Holiday weekend , might have had something to do with this.
Two Blasts Rock Market in Ukraine Capital, 13 Hurt

Be careful everyone. We all take risks just staying home, but being alert anywhere you go is always a good thing.
I remember a similar situation a week before I went to Thailand a few years ago. It can be un nerving, but life goes on.
I must point out that I felt very safe in Ukraine and would go back tomorrow if I had the time and a ticket.

Terrorist blasts in Ukraine? Hah! The FSB (previously was called KGB) would kick the bejeezus out of AlQueda guys in no time, trust me... I'm friends with an FSB officer - they do not mess around, full stop.
-
Just a little difference between Ukraine and Russia...
Watch out what's going on and what's probably gonna happen around Moscow nowadays..
-
Thanks MM - that's gonna cheer us all up!!!!!
Be safe everyone!

Anyone wishing to meet up in Kiev and scout around together, please PM me.
I will be here until the end of this weekend, i.e. end of August.

What person in their right mind flys half way around the world to find women ?
Unfortunately I am one of them. Temptation can't be ignored.
So other than Santa Claus, (milk and no cookies) we go to these places far from home, enrich these women in someway (Trick or Treat). We keep injecting into the female economy until we run out of money or time. Then we come home, recharge and start over again.
I would say that the risk of having the little head fall off, is greater than any bomb or bodily threat.
There are risks in Life. We just take the necessary ones and try to be safe taking the risks we do willingly.

Gentleman,
I have noticed that there has been a definite tendency recently to descend into, apparently senile commentary, on just about anything but mongering
Could it be a bad case of syphilis or perhaps some of the senior members are getting on.
Bottom line, gentleman, is that the site will loose it's value, should this continue. Lets get back to subject, shall we?

All the flights in CIS, whether domestic or international, are much safer than those in the States, especially with those oldest Boeings on the domestic lines.
The rest is just a story of dreams.

Methods
As the mention of FriendFinder. I was wondering what other sites or methods folks have found to meet girls
I frequently use the free hospitalityclub.com to get INTEL on places I am thinking of visiting. Folks are very friendly, but mostly very young students.
http://www.plentyoffish.com/ a free site
Many dating sites are a bit pricey, so opinions are valuable. Free sites typically have few girls or not desired quality.
A very real difference is a frequent girl's desire to have a serial relationship, its often all or nothing even if you have never met. The don't want to "waste time" being friends, they want a long term thing. They seem to really want what they have difficulty finding at home. (sounds familiar)
I know that the Kiev Times often lists meetings or events that might offer potential.
English Language Clubs.
Dating events to meet women interested in western men. (a Foreign Affair had a recent open invite to western men)
Bars and restuarants with higher liklihood of meeting women. Even shops and Metro stops are possible.
Hoping Jackson will allow comments about specific dating or introduction sites.

Tupolev: it's the only way to fly.
Vegamars, our resident airline safety expert, again chooses to ignore facts and instead rely on hearsay from the Turkish board of transportation safety, now currently being directed by the former Iraqi information minister.
Although Aeroflot flies modern Boeing and Airbus planes on most international routes, on domestic routes Aeroflot, Aerosvit, Pulkovo, Krasair and the dozens of other no-name airlines in CIS (your beacon of airline safety) fly whatever plane manages to get itself off of the ground on any particular day. Seen all those cannabilized Tu-134, Tu-154 and Ilyushin fuselage shells littering the Russian and Ukrainian airport of your choice? More or less still functioning pieces of them have been somehow assimilated into the planes we happily board in pursuit of the Ukraine's only true natural resource.
So while nervously chewing your fingernails on your death-defying Cleveland-Des Moines route, do say a prayer for me on approach to Donetsk, where I plan to visit a few of those underground coal mines everyone has been raving about before meeting my skinny straw-haired buck-toothed dream girl and her two illegitimate children.

The domestic flights in the States full of old, worn-out, questionable Boeings are statistically( I mean the real figures and not those biased, unrealistic ones) are one of the worst in the world in terms of safety and convenience.
Nothing to be ashamed of or to take personally.
Just a part of the world of great contradictions out there.

Vegamars:
Thankfully I am very difficult to offend as I have been to and lived in enough different countries to realize everything is relative, but the aging fleet of Soviet era aircraft that still carries the bulk of CIS travellers to domestic locations is among the world's worst and truly in worse shape than the aircraft operating in the majority of the American fleet.
The Slavic soul believes in fate, as do I, so none of that worries me.
