El Cubanito
Am sure others will chip in but the better beaches are some way from the city and the more intersting attractions. You can visit the resorts (eg Plantation, Shangri La) for the day etc or go the resort in Danao but again a long way from Cebu City or those south of the city (2-3 hrs drive maybe)
If a beach is a must then thats my view but if a decent hotel with pool is also OK then you have more choices closed to the centre.
IMHO all hotels as GF so don't worry about that.
Other will am sure have some advice.

i went to redlips and viking tonight and it was the usual biz, bar fines are still going on, redlips contact confirmed the before the bust there no **** where working so it sounds like a ngo setup, she did not deny that there was no **** at the bar that night so i wonder how they found the girl, the girl i know is 27 and most of the girls there are older quite a few are ex jaguar and the bust that closed that down they still remember, there was no girl i saw who even looked 18 there tonight unlike other bars i have seen in the past where korean go in big numbers.
viking had the usual police visits a few nights ago so they stopped bar fines, you could still get the girls out side if you wanted, it was back to normal tonight. it was mostly korean men.
in both places numbers of clients was down, very few guys spending money.

I was wrong, they will not let you bar fine no more, they let me bar fine as I have been going there for years, another punter is in town and told me they said no to him, this happened before with arena last year, seems that it depends on the guy if they know you.
I was talking to a local police I know, he told me there is a increase of drug use with tourists here, he said expect to see some arrests, and if you do not pay the 200-500k fine expect to stay in jail. There are guys asking girls to get shabu and guys smoking pot in discos. The girls I have spoken to say the guys are not trusting them and they telling them to leave their phones and take jeepney etc, it only takes a girl to think fuck this I rather get some of the fine from the cops for reporting the guy, as the cops are offering finders fees.
You will be suprized how many undercover cops there are in cebu. So think twice before you start asking for illegal drugs.
I'm not fond of the over priced and man-made beaches at Mactan, but that might fit the bill if you need to be close to the city. There is a gaudy looking place that has recently been showing up on the online profiles of gals. I think the name is Imperial Palace. Has anyone been there?
Now, if you want to do an overnight with gal you might consider Panglao on Bohol or White beach near Moalboal. Both places are very attractive but need about three hours travel time.
I haven't visited, but in north Cebu Island the popular destinations are Bantayan and Malapasqua. Both islands.
Someone mentioned a resort at Danao, which is about an hour by taxi north of Cebu. There are some dumpy local places there, but there was one place that looked a bit upscale and had large flotation devices out in the water. I didn't visit and I don't know the name of the place.

Rooms are smaller but clean. The hotel is a well-known destination for Koreans and depending on what time of year you visit, you might feel "invaded" as the locals call it. Five different pools and a waterpark including a few water slides. Alot of filipinas are excited to stay at Imperial Palace as word travels fast about the water park.
For the same rate you could book Crimson. IMO much better hotel and service level but price depends what room you book. If you really want to splurge book a private villa with a 'plunge pool' and enjoy skinny dipping under the stars.
The main pool at Crimson is not as nice as Imperial Palace.
So where do I post a field report? Here, or the General Information thread?

Many post in Cebu Travel Reports so try that thread.
To bozo-nuts in the hotel room next to me WTF is your problem?
Last night you came back to your room at 4am screaming your head off to your buddy about some BG. Your loud drunken rants were almost comical but for the fact it woke me and my GF up (and the rest of the guests on this floor).
"That fucken' bit*h! She wanted more money, always telling me it's not enough not enough not enough! Always telling me it's up to me! UP TO ME UP TO ME!" This went on for 20minutes. Loud drunken a-hole. Before security could arrive your buddy calmed you down and convinced you to go out looking for some pussy. At 430am on a Sunday night good luck. I fell back to sleep.
Now you are back in your room tonight. It's 1:20am. For the past hour or so my gf and I have been listening to you and a bakla argue over money. You told her to leave and she went into the hall then knocked on your door asking for forgiveness and you let her back in. This happened three times! Gesssuusss you are the hotel guest from hell. Now my GF has stopped watching her Filipino drama program and has the TV on mute with her ear against the wall giving me play by play of all the negotiations.
It's more fun in the Philippines. (insert eye-roll smiley here)
Thanks for the info. I checked Crimson website and it looks nice. I usually don't like to pay so much, but it might be nice for a special night with a special someone.
Thanks again, X.

Thanks again, X.
I heard through the bamboo vine that Crimson is not doing so well. Guests are down and you can snag a promo price if you book a week or more in advance. The resto on site has changed the menu and the hotel is trying to attract more affluent expats that live in Lapux2 and Cordova. Both hotel rooms and resto prices are over-priced maybe 30-40percent IMO, but that goes for most places that are geared to foreigners.

Are there affluent expats in Cordova. LOL Just I always think that part of town is not affluent based on a few ladies who are desperate to get out of the Cordova area.
As for the shouting and screaming in hotels. I find the pinoy families the worse, wake up at 5am, turn on the TV (very loud) , kids on rampage in the corridor, can't hold a converstaion without shouting at each other and no respect for anyone in the adjoining rooms.
And when you ask them to shut up as it is 5am. They look at you as if you have grown 3 heads and get very offended.
Xman. What do you mean someone special? And not pay that much? We allvknow you are man of subtantial means. But I also know you are generous with the ladies which to me is the important thing (and v kinky if rumours are true LOL)

A few clusters of German Japanese and Korean expats in the better subdivisions. Personally Mactan Lapux2 and Cordova are not my taste. The draw is a nice sea view, but Mactan has mostly wide mud flats, and having to deal with the traffic on the bridges is a negative.
Crimson was targeting mostly foreign tourists before, but that's not working.
